    I have the same cam and exhaust in a 124. 132hp/145 torque. Makes 140 torque at 2500 rpm. The D&D Billet Cat is the best performance exhaust on the market. I ran 2 other exhausts on the build and finally broke down and bought the D&D. It is expensive but worth every penny! Tell Rusty him doing this video with you sold at least one header lol.

    I commented on your last video telling you I run the SE Stage 4 kit with the Zipper's 472 cam. Glad you went with the same cam. I made 120/130 and it feels like a beast at any rev range.

    HD offers different cam options for their Stage IV build kit. Adam’s power cam builds torque at high revs. HD’s torque cam option builds max torque around 3K. My Stage IV M8 with the torque cam dynoed at 118 lbs of torque at 2900 rpms and runs flat to redline. I had it dyno mapped, and installed HD’s dynamic tuner. It runs awesome. Very smooth power, and excellent low RPM ride-ability. The big difference is in the pipes. I have V&H head pipes and mufflers. You can keep your warranty and have performance. The aftermarket exhaust does not void your warranty, as long as the exhaust doesn’t cause engine damage.

    • @OsageEnergy
      @OsageEnergy Před 5 lety

      Robert do you know the torque cam model number or part number you used vs the power cam which i believe is the SE8-515 cam which is in the screamin eagle catalog?

    D&D really is above and beyond the rest. I had baffle-less drag pipes on my 06 FXSTI and Arlen Ness big sucker with a tune. Changed exhaust to D&D FatCat and retuned. It literally feels like a different bike and it’s just a little old stock 88”. Quality of the pipe is absolutely second to none.

    Back in the day (late 90's) I had the opportunity of attending a high-performance motorcycle school (I'm intentionally being vague) and shortly thereafter purchased a dyno and traveled the country testing motorcycles. I was amazed at how illiterate most heavy cruiser riders were regarding torque vs horsepower. Your man there at D&D did exactly the right thing and your M8 on the dyno is proving that. Early torque and sustained HP through the run. High airflow and a tuned exhaust system put the "icing on the cake". Well worth the cost!!!!

    What is the weakest link in the build? The four piece pressed together flywheels. If you put a big bore kit, and higher compression would be even worse. Harley should make a solid forged crank with side by side connecting rods, and you could go to town. I enjoy your channel!!

  • @michaelbarras6950
    @michaelbarras6950 Před 5 lety +5

    Now you are going in the right direction! Get rid of that Screamin' Eagle cam. That is top end.That Redshift 472 is a great midrange cam. You will feel more torque at lower rpm's
    The Thundermax is a very smart move also. Great product!
    You will be pleased with the rideability of your scoot now!
    Remember when I told you, you wouldn't like that top end cam?
    You will like that Redshift though.
    I've seen people time and time again look at that HP number and never give a thought to where the HP or Torque come in, and the dyno graph they show you on paper is at wide open throttle. No other throttle position between closed and WOT.
    After people ride for a while they realize they screwed up!
    It bothers me people allow Harley to hand them BS, so to sell their product.
    Harley don't care! It's all about the money! You want to spend it, they will gladly take it.
    Now you down 2,298.90 for telling Harley you want a fast bike with high HP. They guide you to the most expensive upgrade and tell you it's FAST!!! lol
    Bunch of crooks!
    Anything high performance, you much better off going Zippers, Fueling, S&S, Wood Performance or Andrews and find you a guy like Rusty to set you up.
    Screamin' Eagle Products SUCK!!! And so does Harley service.
    Yea, I know, the Waranty! Wait till it expires. Just put a breather pipes and a tuner.

      Yealp, I did my own tuning using the V&H FP3, V&H Short shots, heavy breather polished out. 86hp & 116 fpq. I put the bike in for apes to be installed. That was in March. In May I put the bike in the shop for the engine compensater being broken in five peaces. When I checked the bike in, they notified me my warrenty was voided in March. So when they installed the Ape, they tagged my VIN. So I paid 663.00 for the compensater replacement. So I wonder if I trade the bike in for a new one will they sell my bike with a warrenty. It's an 18 Heritage less then 9000 miles. Harley is about selling bikes, not about a dependable product. Looking for anything to void a warrenty. Is it worth getting an attorney? Harley has lost their way and don't gave a fuck about a durable product, standing behind their products or muchless about a life style that put them on top. I have to live with my ole rescueing me twice on her 08 Yamaha V-Star 650. RIP Harley Davidson 2020!

    I know it's hard to cover all different combinations. I bought my 2017 street glide and put in the Woods 222. It made so much difference it isn't even funny. I gutted a stock pipe, added a decent air cleaner and tuned it through all the throttle settings and rpms. I think I tune as well as any and a hell of a lot better than most. I use Technoresearch. I've been tuning bikes for about 8 years. Most tuners set WOT only and never even look at the mid and lower settings. I have no idea if a 472 cam would help or not but it would so minimal it's not worth the trouble You also have a big CI engine here and I left mine 107. This is a great video and I know it was a lot of work. I don't plan to do anything to my bike.....further. I'm gettin 42 MPG and it's got a HELL of a lot more power than it did stock. If you can feel a couple ft lbs of torque or hp then you're a better man than me. The dyno might show a couple and you might pull me a half a bike length here and there but pretty much any cam will make a huge difference....and the rest is all in the tune.....by the way...Cyclerama has a really great performing cam....they're all good...and the difference between the boltins is really minimal....I wanted reliability and power so no goin in the engine for me other than the cam

    Hey guys, Rusty definitely has the best exhausts out there. There’s no better off the shelf pipe to buy for power. I build engines and dyno a lot but however ...... he was wrong.
    Thunder max does not auto tune. It Data Logs. Big difference and it’s why a lot of people get pissed off with it. Its way to complicated for most people and most tuners. Don’t get me wrong, it is good but not the best . Depends on what you need.
    Once you’ve been for a ride you need to down load the data and pick out the shit
    Points before you send it to your ECM.
    Not digging on Rusty because he knows his pipes but just letting you know.

      It doesn't AutoTune? It data logs? Yeah, that isn't correct. We tune completely on the fly and make adjustments and write directly back to the ECM on key off. We tune at over 2,000 points on the fueling side and tune 5 times fast than anything on the market. You may have used some of our older GEN 2 modules that you had to go back in and automap. That just simply is not the case any longer.

    WOW! What a difference I two have a similar setup ,and now I feel like it was a waste of money 💰. I’m gonna look into D&D this was a learning tool that’s got me excited. The sound was amazing and the gains all can say is wow. How does it effect the warranty on the engine?

      Andrew Sumner can’t void warranty for aftermarket parts it’s illegal... Magnussen-Moss Act check it out

    Now your talking worthwhile upgrades. Is your bike no longer emissions compliant with this setup? Not that I really care about that. This man definitely knows his shit. Great video.

    Difference between the two pipes... Lol. Good "book" explanation I suppose. How about EPA compliant vs non EPA compliant. Catalytic converter vs no cat... It's a no brainer. One is "street legal" whereas the other is kinda technically not-ish. That said. I'm running aftermarket on mine too - worth every penny.
