Epic project! I think foams are the only tires that have halve a chance of holding up
I am your subscriber
Thanks Kevin! Yes I think Iâll have to do some experimenting!
@@Project-Air you should try trust vectoring some time đđđđ
@@Project-Air you guys should do a collab once please please please please đ
I want too see a 200 mhp run ok promise
This is so SICK! Thanks so much for bringing us this, James đ„łđ„łđ„ł
For sure.. Yes Thanks for bringing PCBWay to us.. very cool service along with a very cool project That design is a record breaker woo. Good luck!!
We viewers appreciate the sponsorship.
Wait, his name is James?
@@Some-Random_Idiot123 exactly what i thought
@@goincommando3612 You just made our day! ââ
I think PCBWay is one of the best sponsors the maker scene has ever seen, because it's actually useful.
yeah i noticed same, and i actually might use them at some point!
Actually blends in the video unlike the insufferable ones do
I agree. They've even sponsored my very small channel for some projects, and it was quite welcome.
Is the 'B' supposed to be bold and not the 'PC'?
@@MiscDotGeek Even if the sponsoring is literally just allowing a maker to get their PCBs related to the project for free, it is still useful.
We come for the crazy builds, and stay because of your top tier storytelling James! Always a pleasure to be featured in these master pieces. One day weâll have a race with my wheel driven car đ„
Well done. I was a little nervous that your poly rope would melt on full power test. Looking forward to part 2 and a speed run record.
I was rather nervous a stone or two got yeeted through the cars windscreen.
I love how much this demonstrates communities coming together for the sake of creative science. Between the RC company the CNC company the jet engine company putting forward parts to make this happen is cool as hell
We don't necessarily like to see the crash --> repair --> crash --> repair cycle. I think many of us appreciate the iterative process, the clever design(s) you come up with, and the reward of seeing the larger goal eventually accomplished. Keep up the good work.
I would buy "crash --> repair --> crash" on a T-Shirt though ;-) Maybe like the 'recycle' logo?
You saying you don't like how my relationships function?
@@nunyabisnass1141 Those don't sound like relationships... just sayin
I enjoy those build-up videos! This is real engineering and design!
Great âBloodhoundâ project! You probably canât imagine how it rejuvenates me! Youngsters like you make me hope that not all is lost and your father can be proud of you! Good luck!!
Looks very cool. PLEASE make sure you have configured and tested your radio failsafe this time so if you lose radio signal it goes to zero throttle and brakes on!
Donât worry I shall be!!
4k for a jet engine sounds like a solid price. Iâd be shaking to have that thing roaring up while itâs still a loan. Great ongoing project, really looking forward to the next part.
Your dad's comment it exactly the reason to keep watching this series! Looks ambitious - so many potential engineering challenges.
Hey dude. A lot of great engineering and time going into this. Its really cool.
However âŠ. please donât use those printed plastic joiners to hold your ribs to the chassis plate.
I would almost guarantee they wonât be strong enough.
The threads are inserted from the same side as the piece they are secured to by the look of it, so they can pull out.
You would be much better off getting some aluminium 90deg angle (itâs a stock extruded material). You could drill and tap the angle to bolt it together or drill right through and bolt through.
Seriously, it would be a much stronger solution.
At 200mph the pressure in the body will be huge. I wouldnât be surprised if that alone ripped it apart.
Good luck mate đ look forward to seeing it run.
I was shocked at that too. Also the flat bottomed box shape. Will take off. I'd use a jetplane fuselage with outrigger wheels.
@@ThomasPCGuruENGINES thatâs a good point about the flat bottom. Potentially used correctly though it could produce a suction onto the road.
But yes if air gets under it, its game over man.
I just donât want to see all this work fall apart around the chassis đ.
I really hope he sees this but the comment doesn't have nearly enough likes as one would hope
That would only be a concern for the test he already succeeded at, while driving it's gonna have much less stress on that point.
@@dries-pederjanse6249 I fully disagree with that but we are all entitled to our opinions.
I just donât want to see all his heard work fall apart. A printed part with a thread hot inserted into it on such a joint really isnât very good.
Iâm sure the fact he could draw it and print it nice and accurately was the most appealing part of the decision to do it that way, but for the structural integrity of the chassis Iâm afraid it needs more work put into it than that.
I am always so blown away at what we can do at home now. I have maybe intermediate 3D modelling skills and I still feel like a mad inventor when I print what I designed. Love the videos James!
I'm glad to see all these companies working with you to get this project on the road!
You can use tether car wheels (hard rubber with aluminum rims). They are easily good for 200mph+
I love †jet engine
Jet is love. Jet is life.
I love the content â€

Why?
This is why U r the best of the best! Creating great projects about RC cars and other things!

Very cool project, canât wait to see it perform on the runway đ
Wow the confidence with which you're taking on the records of the RC world is relentless!
Thank you JetCat for sending
actually just got hooked on watching an hour or 2 ago with the rc car actually crazy i get to follow up with this letsss gooo
bro this video was posted 5min ago, how the hell did u comment 16hrs ago
@@axelburt5839 it was unlisted in a playlist
Bro coulda integrated the shocktowers into the jet engine mount so he could mount the shocks and upper wishbones into that, and gotten that jet exhaust a LOT lower down. Still looks quite nice already.
Been in the rc world for years and the most helpful thing is always local advice. The guys out there running them where you are will be able to give you the most applicable advice for you, especially regarding wheel/tire choice and suspension settings.
absolutely and delightfully mental! What youâre doing is just way too cool! Glad you got your dad to join in to help. And wow, a nice Jimny and a super clean Mini!! You have amazing taste in cars :).
Love the engineering on this and your aspirations to get this going! Good luck with the next phase đ
I think it needs a cockpit containing a Race Rabbit. Will make it 15% faster for sure.
I had a horrible feeling that rope was going to get cooked on the full throttle test đ glad I was wrong!
Epic project! Can't wait to see where it goes
It looked to be nylon or something like that amazed it didn't melt then stretch and break
This is true engeniering â€â€â€
absolutely incredible!! love it
Cant wait for part two. im sure you will break the record twofold, the sound of the jet engine wirrring up to throttle is amazing!!
đ€©
That looks great! Can't wait for part 2!
As a heat shield use a thin paper card on the plastic then put the metal shield on and that will give a barrier of insulator between hot metal heatshild and plastic. Or just wack some exhaust wrapping on the plastic bit. Hope this helps.
Thanks Arma and Pcbway
I wish that your videos were little bit longer and more detailed.
Great work, can't wait to see jet car in action :)
Well done, that looks amazing!
Excellent project! Looking forward to the next video.
ALWAYS a thrill when your next video comes out. I make sure I'm undisturbed to really enjoy it all. You and your projects are an inspiration young man.
I have been watching these series since the beginning. Nice work James! Huge support to you and I hope you will break that speed record đ
Amazing project!! I would suggest some heat resistant tile material at the back, covering the plastic, rather than foil. You can buy kiln bricks for about ÂŁ10 uk, and cut them by hand, as they are very soft and light.
I absolutely love your cool videos of things you design and build. I can't wait for the video of this going down the track.
This is actually so cool! I can definitely see the improvement in your design!!!
Love all your projects! Really canât wait to see some more of this 1! đ„đ„đ„
Fantastic work, James! It's looking crazy! đ
Looking forward to the test run!
Stay safe there with your family! đđ
Great to see someone taking a different approach. Feels like all the electric guys have reached the limits of motors/batteries so perhaps jet is the way to go. Wishing all the best for future speed runs. Would love to be involved in the project.
This project is absolutely mind-blowing! I believe foam tires could be the only ones with a fighting chance of handling the power. I'm curious to see how they hold up against the intense speed and force. Keep pushing the boundaries of RC innovation! đđ„đ
Marvellous. Iâm loving this!đ Hereâs to part two!đđ»
Can't wait to see this thing run!
I love your dad's wisdom!
This is awesome, can't wait to see a great series abt the jetcar.
Smashing work young sir!
Damn man it looks wild. Nice work.
Almost exactly what I dreamt of doing many years ago, but never did. Well done
another amazing project! I really loved the shots on 10:31 and 10:32 of the heat diffraction!
As you pointed out, aluminum tape should help with the engine heat as it'll just reflect the heat away!
For the wheels, maybe worth considering making them out of aluminium? Since RC car tires love to separate from wheels at high RPMs (much like the Thrust2 car or the new bloodhound SSC)
love to see people learning and progressing eventhough you have setbacks and that the companies want to help you is amazing and this is why i love engineering. love
Nice project!
Well done, looks great đ đ đ
Great job. I noticed 2 things . One is the idea of the front wheels and rear wheels being independent. Run a shaft from the front to the back so that when you bake the front or rear doesnât lock up. Also just use foam tires .
Every time you post a new video I drop whatever it is I'm doing so I can watch. It's always entered and informative.
I think this channel is just so skillful and creative. Keep up the good work!
Dude...I love this stuff đ I'm just an old-fart retired Air Force C-130 driver...that machine you built is just beautiful !! I Can't wait to see the beast going full throttle đ
This thing is a beast I love it.
Excellent project!
Gotta love dads words of encouragement đ€Ł
I love all of these video, Thankyou! Iâm so exited for more
This was so SICK! I loved the projet thanks for showing us, James.đ
I love your channel man, its a beautiful engineering based channel that does not even close to have enough recognition, your going to go far
your projects are always cool!
Very, very cool. I think you'll want to make wheels that are much much larger so that they can turn at far lower RPM.
So, you have a few options for wheels: something similar to the Bloodhound SSC, which are solid aluminium-zinc alloy disks, which can deal with 10 200 RPM. You could coat the rims with latex or something to give it something akin to tyres. You could also do foam based stuff (as some other people have suggested), which could deal with the heat really well due to the air pockets, but they might have too much give. Personally, if I was making this, I'd do aluminium disk for the main wheel, with layers of rubber and foam. But I don't know how that'd be made. But hey, experiment and have some fun! For all I know what I've just said is utterly useless and can't be done.
Maybe Goodyear or Perrelli would sponsor some special rubber tires like F1 race cars. đ
Aluminium disks spun up with spray on ruuber from a can. Yesss then check they lathe true
i love your vidoes s much seriously the things you create are amazing
cool project
Damn its sick we need more plane and car vids đ
Oh boy! When I was young my Challange was to bolt an old Cox .049 to anything that might move. You get a Jet turbine to terrorize science, how cool is that? Nice work.
Fantastic project, good luck with the trials x
This is an absolutely fantastic project. I'm really looking forward to seeing it run. Love the design and the workmanship. I think real life speed record Jet cars had their wheels made entirely out of aluminium. This could possibly be a path to follow. Perhaps you could get someone to dynamically balance whatever wheels you do end up using.
This is really great!
A thumbs up for you saying Aluminium correctly. ;-) And of cause for the video.
keep up the good work m8!
bro was very confident over that lil rope
This is exactly what I would do if I had money
Years ago, I first saw one of JetCat's engines on a table being spooled and I immediately wanted someone to do this. Props for making it happen.
For traction and straight line, consider 'fan car' downforce (a la Chaparrel 2J, BT46B). You'd need an esc/li-ion/FPV motor, or two.
"As long as I don't damage them, I don't have to pay" - has crashed the car twice before đ
Now all we need is a big version
This is Friggin' Awesome
Great project! I look forward to the next steps....I guess you could add rocket boosters too ;)
đ„đđ What an epic project! Building the world's most powerful jet RC car is truly mind-blowing. I can't even imagine the speed and power it will have. When it comes to tires, I agree that foams seem to be the best option for handling the intense forces and maintaining stability. It's fascinating to see how technology is pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the RC world. Can't wait to see this beast in action!
keep it up mate going good.
Love your vids bro keep it up!
Outstanding đđđ

fingers crossed! Love to see these improvements, im pretty sure it will brake the record!
This is looking great, what a nice project indeed!

you and kevin two of the absolute legends
I was definitely expecting that nylon rope to melt from the jet exhaust and send that thing flying into the side of the building lol slightly relieved and slightly disappointed that didnât happen đ
what a tease!!!!! that is like my dreams in a video. Well done!
Interesting stuff đ
Fantastic stuff. In real life, I work out the financing together that puts 500 tonne industrial gas turbines in power stations but I have never seen one in real life. Naturally I was fascinated seeing a tiny but real jet turbine doing something amazing.
