Nora Lewin's tenure as DA had some philosophically interesting cases. There was another one where she and her EDAs were debating whether to bring a capital charge against an 18 year old, who was charged over a group murder. They ended up pursuing the capital charge as he'd shown gross indifference over the murder - they'd called a fast food delivery man as the victim, and he ate the food and watched as the victims lay bleeding out.
She was also a bit different to Schiff and Branch - I always saw those two as either being somewhat cynical about the whole thing, or they saw their role to act as Devil's Advocate to whatever their EDAs were doing.

On one level, I can agree with what the company was doing. But what they did wrong was that they weren't being responsible or thorough in dealing with their clients. Nobody bothered to check if the client lied on their application.
When Robert Kitson saw the multiple requested made by the same client against the same individual, he saw it as a red flag and investigated on his own. Smart, ethical decision on his behalf. He reported what he found. He what he perceived proper protocol by alerting his boss. By all accounts, Robert Kitson did everything right. He acted responsibly.
While the owner was at fault, it was later revealed that he had addressed this issue with his lawyer, concerned about whether or not the company could be liable over this kind of incident. The lawyer - the same one who represented him - said no. Thus, while the owner was at fault, the lawyer was moreso.

One thing that I have always stood by when talking to my friends and family about the internet: The websites that you visit, and the comments that you make, can easily be tracked by someone smarter than you when it comes to computers. Never visit a site, or post a comment, that might become embarrassing to you sometime in the future. For those not knowing what I am talking about - has there ever been a time, for example, that you got a tattoo in your youth that you regret getting in your middle to old age?

Nora Lewin apart of being the show first and only female DA (though she was an Interim DA and in real life no woman has held the position of DA in New York) she has to hold the title of the most underrated L&O character in the franchise sadly her departure wasn't explained at all (though in that tie in book) it claims that Lewin grew tired and dischanted with the DA work and after her interim term was through she chose not to run for reelection for the full term in that book it explains that Dianne Wiest grew tired and wanted to do other things (her departure it was almost 99% alike to the one of Nina Cassady) had Dianne stayed on L&O her character would've been better also Branch's administration as DA was a sharp contrast compared to Lewin's as he embraced the idea of the death penalty and she did not in her last appearance which was on SVU season 4 premiere "Chamaleon" she said that didn't want to sign the documents to have the death penalty as punishment to the criminal for her crimes
