I do like the realism in them having a fight, though; even good friends can get into a stupid tiff that gets blown outta proportion, or express valid points in bad ways. Even though Val was a side character, she still had a fleshed-out personality, her own love woes, and a fairly well detailed sometimes up sometimes down friendship history with Fran despite not being a mc. She isn't just there to be Fran's cheerleader or yesman, she and Fran have realistic (hilarious) dialogues that are character-consistent.
Rachel Chagall was brilliant as Val!
