In this video, we make some much needed updates to the coyote swapped Mustang II King Cobra in some more modern wheels and a more street-able rear gear and.
Hell yeah man! I can’t wait to see it! I almost switched to a T56 XL over the winter and the shifter placement was nearly perfect so I’m excited to see how yours works out.
Stumbled across your video, and now I'm curious. Did that thing start life out as a Mustang 2 or a Cobra 2? There are more differences than most people think there is. I'm old enough to remember these cars on the road first time around. My sister owned two Mustang 2s' and a good buddy of mine had a Cobra2 that he drove on the street and drag raced a little.
@@dugganracecraft I think his might have been too. Besides having suspension upgrades (and of course power train) and spoilers the one thing that stood out about it to me was that it was made out of lightweight sheet metal compared to a Mustang 2.
Did you use spacers or anything to fit the 17s on there? I have a pinto and I know they have similar wheelbases. I switched my rear-end diff with an 86 foxbody so just double checking… thanks!
I know on a factory Mustang II that you need to use spacers (and go to 5 lug) to be able to run stock new edge Bullitt wheels or else they hit the lead spring!
Has anyone ever redesigned the mustang II from the windshield forward , I have never liked the fenders on it and have never seen anyone change them.. just curious
Somebody stretched and widened one of these to fit a v10 for sema a few years ago iirc. Car was blue, can't remember who built it or what they called it for some reason...
Tire height does affect contact patch, tire width obviously has a wider contact patch but the taller tire has a longer contact patch which is why drag cars go for the tallest possible tire they can.
I really dig your 80’s Motorsport style channel script!
Thanks a lot! A viewer of the channel did it for me! His name is Marco, his instagram handle is @m_blingzcustombadges, you should check him out!
Thanks for the notes about wheel and tire sizes.
You bet! It helps me to see that kind of stuff so I figured it would help other people too!
I've always been a fan of the Mustang II; nice to see one turned into a beast. Good job.
Thanks a lot! It's been a long time coming, and there's something BIG coming for it hopefully!
I knew someone had my idea. I just starting same build. Using a tremec 6 speed.

@@dugganracecraft lol finally it's a real mustang 2
Hell Yeah . That's Awesome. Can't wait for the Next episode.
Thanks Jason! You won't be disappointed!
We all know this car is never going to be finished lol
you're exactly right, a car guys car will never be done
You guys can't be exposing me like this lmao
Looks much better, just waiting on a nice paint job then you will have the nicest king Cobra on the streets 👍
Welllll the paint might be pushed off, but only a little while longer! Check out the newest video and you'll see why!
I have a 77 mach 1 that I built and customized from the ground up. These things are definately a labor of love/hate. Lol
Luckily now they have a decent bit of parts available now! When I first got the rig over 10 years ago they didn’t make anything yet!
Love the wheels!
Thanks jay!
Car is looking sweet!
Thanks, Matt! I liked the old set up, but the new wheels just really set the car off!
I had a 1977, would love to do that to it.
You definitely wouldn't regret it!
Damn that thing sounds healthy!
Thanks Chad!
What exhaust? Sounds amazing!
Custom exhaust with Kooks race mufflers!
76 mustang cobra that was the first car I bought almost new
That’d be a great first car to have new!
@@dugganracecraft some times I just want to re live them days but go 390ci lol and 4 speed
8000rpm all dayyyyyyy!! So sick man!
Wait until it hits 8k with 12 PSI of boost ;) It's going to be great!
@@dugganracecraft It's gonna be so damn fast!
I cannot wait!
dude I need that back fender flair and that front under the bumper bottom lip thing! Please tell me where I can get them. thanks bud
They’re factory king cobra items! Original parts are pretty pricey but you can get reproduction air damn and tire spats online!

Mines actually a King Cobra!

Hey did you make your own motor mounts or are they available to purchase somewhere? Sick build!!
The engine side of the mount is just a 96-04 4.6 motor mount and I made a body mount from plate steel!
@@dugganracecraft thank you very much!
No problem!

Thanks good buddy!

The pinto is a 94" and the mustang 3 is a 96.2" wheelbase
sick
Thanks a lot!
Has anyone ever redesigned the mustang II from the windshield forward , I have never liked the fenders on it and have never seen anyone change them.. just curious
I don’t think anyone has ever moved the windshield forward but I have seen them move the front wheels forward and it looks pretty killer!

Is the car gonna eventually get paint? Or are you content the way it is
Its definitely going to get painted. Although, I've had an overwhelming amount of people tell me to keep it the way it is lol
For sale?
Anything is for sale for the right price 😉
No its never finished 🤣
I was thinking the same thing 🤣🤣🤣
@@jacksonryan523 Yeah we know the real truth hes not fooling anyone 😂🤣😂
You guys are ruthless for this 😂😂😂

Rad.
Couldn't have said it better myself!
Fyi....contact patch has nothing to do with tire height. It's width.
