What was the decisive cause of your faith in Christ?
The Calvinist says "The cause of my faith was Christ."
The Arminian says "The cause of my faith in Christ was myself." There's way more to it than that (Depravity,Election,Atonement,New birth, perseverance, naming faith, etc), but the original question definitely identifies who is who. Both believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. I don't believe either have lost salvation because of it.

Both calvanism and Armenian although appearing opposite in many ways are both biblical. Both can be shown to be true depending upon interpretation. (You know). Just because you may agree or disagree with one or more interpretation and understand the differences does not mean all of a pastors teachings are now garbage. Personally I think it is important to research and understand why all teachings are (or aren't) biblical (just like a Berean). I tend to believe many disagreements over interpretations such as this come from our inability to comprehend what it must be like to be outside of time and see all of history as being in the present (for lack of a better word, since there is no past, present, future meaning if outside of time)

I'm not Arminian Jacob Arminius studied under Theodore Beza, an all-in Calvinist. He praised Calvin's works publicly and unfortunately never shook off his Calvinistic presuppositions.
Calvinism is another gospel!! Only a pre-selected elect few will irresistibly turn to Christ consequently all others can't. The unelect have been made vessels prepared for destruction.
"Individuals are born doomed from the womb to a certain death and are to glorify Him (God) by their destruction" - John Calvin
Compare with Luke 9:56 (vs 55 if using ESV)
      Calvinism is nothing like scripture.
