Great tremendous episode lajawab 👍👍🙏
Great effort by Salman Saheb,
Very interesting 🤔 and informative
When I heard the words Sargodha and Buddhism at the beginning of this video I started jumping and dancing over my bed. What an utterly fascinating news, even more so for an inhabitant of Sargodha district like myself!
I wish more such excavations are done. What could be more fascinating than excavating a bronze or terracotta Buddha, Yakshis and Vaikuntha Chaturmurti from Punjabi plans. And Kudos to Dr Muhammad Hameed for this amazing work.
As I spend most of my time in Lahore these days, I would love to have an audience with Dr sb, and see these sculptures in person.
Thanks for your interest and valuable comments. You are most welcome to our Department of Archaeology University of the Punjab New Campus Lahore.
Regarding the current research and finds, I believe that the true potential and impact of Punjab hasn't been studied in the real sense of the words. The key role of the region is still unexplored. I believe that Punjab is the area where kingdoms were formed, culture development and civilization emerged. The areas around Sargodha and Jhang played pivotal role but we haven't talked about it. I also wish to continue my research and find more conclusive evidences related to Buddhist, Jain, Hindu, Sikh & Muslim traditions. We also need support from people like you. Regards

Thank you, sir!
I think there are quite a number of potential archaeological sites just in our own area. I mentioned it to Salman sb earlier that the site of old Bhera, now called Ahmadabad also deserves some attention. Similarly, there is a mound near Miani called Tibba Ashab. Some Indo-Scythians coins were found there in the British period. Valley of river Jhelum has always been one of the most fertile regions in all the subcontinent. There must be many ancient settlements along the banks of Vitasta-Jhelum-Hydaspes.
Many many villages are built over mounds, and are colloquially known as "Ahli".
Lastly, thank you again for your kind words!

Thanks for this very illuminating post Sir! Kudos to Dr Hameed for exploring this beyond Gandhara. It is his immense grip & expertise on this subject that enabled his lucid discourse.
Sir thank you very much for your nice words and appreciation. I believe we need to know about shape, shade and nature of Buddhism in Punjab. Buddhist Narrative art in Terracotta can be a valuable addition to our existing knowledge.
Absolutely Dr Hameed. This is a fascinating subject and look forward to more from you through Salman Sir's channel which we follow regularly. I have visited the stupas at Bodh Gaya and Sarnath near Varanasi and have been very impressed with their construction.
Only 493 views to this day 20th November 2023. What a shame.
From Gawadar to Agarthalla, and from Columbo to Devlet beg Oldi. All can understand Urdu/Hindi but still no one bothers to view this lovely informative channel.😢😢😢
Unfortunate because we have been driven so far away from our cultural heritage and historical pride that we don't even bother to know and listen. We have that extreme inferiority embedded in our blood that we have become blind, deaf and dumb with no desire to reflect on our brilliant past. If someone from west talks about our history and interpret our culture, whether right or wrong, we happily accept and keep imposing that narrative on us. Our own people are very judgmental and judge our personalities, language, appearance rather than the contents of our talks. I am working on the mission to make my land and people aware of the outstanding heritage and history we have and giving them the sense to take this pride. It's a continuous effort, I know but very much hopeful to achieve the results with the help of people like Sir Salman you, & others.
Thank you.
I am from Rajasthan 🇮🇳
Sir it is really a treat to view your vlogs. It is so good to listen to unbiased history which we have always been deprived off.
Credit goes to Sir Salman Rashid for encouraging students like us to know about our actual history. I consider myself blessed enough to learn from him through discussion and watching his fabulous videos. Thank you for your nice words
❤
What a beautiful information, knowledge is it's on peak.
mashaALLAH
Thanks a lot, dear Sir, It's just a humble beginning, and I believe still a long way to go. We all need to work at our own ends.
Very reassuring. In 3000 years, Pakistan has gone from Hinduism to Buddhism to Islam. The wheel willl continue to move.
Very informative. The professor of archaeology deserves full marks for his efforts.
Thank you very much dear Sir. I appreciate your nice words. I am just a student of Archaeology/ History/Heritage and trying to explore our lost pride and shared values.
Very informative...
Thank you very much Sir for bringing the excellent information about our history 🙏
I am grateful to Sir Salman Rashid Sahib for his entire support, guidance, and encouragement. I look forward to having more joint ventures with Sir Salman and learn from his vast experience.
greatttttt

I think I saw couple of Stupas in Potohar area near sohawa Taraki mor
Very good this 👌 video
Thank you very much, dear Sir.
Great. Information.
There is a big mond SIRKUP DA TIBBA few kms in east-south of Sheikhupura.
Very little mond is left but still a treasure trove of archealogical importance.
Thanks for pointing out the important archaeological sites in the region. These sites have thousands years of our great history buried and waiting to be explored.
@@DrMuhammadHameed-or4zj
I found a coin of kanishka II a grinding wheel. . broken clay statue and few complete briks. More than all its name is SIR KUP DA TIBBA. NObody has ever bothered to know that same name mound exists in Taxala.
@@DrMuhammadHameed-or4zj
What is guessed it was a big city. But now shrank to size because of encroachment. There are few villages like KALPI. . KAPI. . AMBA AND KALIA which are concidered populated before invasion of the Alexander.
@@azlanameer4912 you are right Sir. Maybe we can visit the site together in near future and highlight it's significance. We can play our role and create awareness among like-minded individuals and professionals. I am happy to know about your knowledge, interest and passion.
Very informative videos. Viewer from sirhind.
Tiba punj peer,. Chotasahi....on jahlum river
I hope this monument doesnt get defaced by fanatics of pak
It's really very sad and depressing ,anyway thank you, it's a very informative talk,God bless you.
This is the bitter ground reality, dear Sir. We are trying to explore and document these sites with specific objectives. The major effort includes taking locals on board, educating them, creating awareness about the heritage, and making them feel a sense of ownership. Of course, we need to be more vigilant and vibrant.
There is a complete series of monds along with ancient stream beds from.noth east to south west.
We need to explore and record all these mounds before its too late. We need a collect approach.
If the new finds in Punjab should have a nomenclature other than Gandhar art then the prominent features in this new find are to be highlighted and the differences from Gandhar is to be pointed.
Sir the research work is in progress and we are addressing the same questions such as which story is depicted in the narrative relief - Subject matter - Theme? Religious? Or Secular? Any parallel examples in Gandharan reliefs or beyond? Style? Manufacturing Technique? Physiography of the figures? Clothing? Influences? Dating?
@@DrMuhammadHameed-or4zj Thanks but please keep us updated through this platform.

Sir with due respect kuch nahin bahut kuch miss ho gaya..
Absolutely, no doubt about it. Thousands of years of our history are still shrouded in mystery, lying buried underneath these archaeological mounds. Archaeo-historical profile of the region is still unknown to us, taking us away from our actual pride. We need to adopt broadmindedness and act maturely to showcase our brilliant past.
Gosh, this guy can put you to sleep - Pity his students - hai vi pakka paindu - Still great work !
Thanks dear

Informative but lenghthy, Mr. Hamid is not among the best speakers. Somehow l got addicted to Mr. Rashid's presentation.
Dr Hameed is a good speaker self made person among the all speakers. Only keen observer can see the hidden abilties of Dr Hameed.
I am also a big fan of Sir Salman and trying to learn from him. He is a legend and I consider myself lucky enough to spend time with him. Always a thorough learning experience
