Hey guys! I've been hunting for the perfect marker paper for years so when I saw this little strathmore paper I knew I wanted to test it out! What's your favorite marker paper?
I’m not surprised the colored pencil rubbed off. Marker paper isn’t made for it. It’s too smooth and has a different coating. You can put pencils on top for finishing touches. I remember my teachers suggesting to use some kind of finishing spray so pastels don’t rub off so i think it could work with colored pencil on marker paper as well. Anyway thanks for the review! You explained things well :)
I've been missing a lot of your premieres because of school, so I'm super glad I caught this one (a few minutes late, though 😅)! I think the Canson Fanboy marker paper is really nice! It's thick and smooth, although it is also a little yellow-tinted. I used to do more traditional art, and that was the paper I used. I also want to say, how annoying are those sketchbooks where the pages are glued in?? I bought the Strathmore Toned Tan sketchbook last year and pages started falling out within days🙄
OMG YES I get really bothered with sketchbooks like this especially if I want to do a sketchbook tour like how am I meant to keep all of these pages together lmao. So glad you got to catch the premiere though!! I'll definitely have to check out the Canson paper!!
I recently used this paper for the first time and I noticed some weird textures when layering as well. Some areas for me almost looked like watercolour. I don’t know if it’s slower to absorb the ink or if it’s slightly glossier than what I was using before, but I found it kind of tricky to use
I got this marker paper for free, so I came here to see if it would work with my copics 👀 I wish there was a paper out there that copics didn't leak through though, haha.
There is but its pricey (~20 usd for 48 pages) 😩 I hear the crescent rendr does just that

Canson also do marker paper! They also have a Renr paper alternativr called Canson The Wall. I've tried it and I prefer it a lot to Rendr

but it does not blend well.
I wonder if workable fixativ would add texture to the paper so the color pencil with stay and a final fixativ so it won’t move
Ooooh it might!! If I still had this paper I would test it but I don’t anymore 😭
I've only tried a few so far and I like Expessit Blending paper. I may have spelled it wrong.
