    It is a pleasure to hear someone with a genuine "Regional Accent"!
    I grew up in New England, and I like to imagine that I've "Lost" my formerly very distinct Massachusetts speech. BUT, every once and a while someone walks right up to me (usually a Senior Citizen) and asks me right out; "What part of Massachusetts are you from!"
    It always makes me smile!
    We never truly loose our Heritage!

    I got one from Ken's and love it . I sew back packs and tent tarps with 10 oz, 15oz and 24 oz duct canvas (i also have a patch machine i use for really thick seams ) the 3000 is nice for a not too experienced sewer.

    I got mine from Ken's as well. They are a great company to work with and I love this machine. I have the HD1400 as well and both are great at an affordable price. I use it for garments as well as handbags and wallets. It takes a stronger thread (Tex 45) so I can feel confident my bags won't fall apart. Very happy with my purchase!

    After watching your video ...I purchased this machine in Australia. Thank you so much! I love this machine, everything about it is perfect and the stitch quality is second to none. (I own 2 Singers, an Elna and a Janome My Excel Limited Edition, so this is my 5th machine. I sew every day and would highly recommend it. I mainly sew with cotton and bamboo and do a lot of top stitching so stitch quality was the most important aspect to me All the bonus bit and pieces I got ...wow! So thanks again for the review, oh your accent is too cute!

    Hi there!! First of all thanks for making all of these videos!! I was ready to buy the HD3000be, but then decided to do a bit of last min research again and now i've confused myself by looking at the Janome HD9BE VS. Elna Elnita ef1 High Speed machines... I have a small business making/selling accessories (started with masks but now make bags/headbands/etc) but I'd like to focus more on bag making moving forward - cotton, canvas, vinyl and faux leathers. This will be my second sewing machine purchase ever (I learned on my current Singer Tradition in 2020) so I'd like to get something that's built to last but also has all the features I'm looking for, is high quality/heavy duty, but also "looks" nice... that's the graphic designer in me speaking!! Lol. I would love recommendations! The more advanced machines have caught my eye now since they have all the features including auto thread cutter and memorized up/down, etc and metal bodies, but those are much bigger investments so I'd like to be sure before I make my final decision, any help is appreciated! :)

      The bobbin is loaded differently. The 3000 is a top loading and the 1000 has the side loading for bobbins. There are a couple of other things that are different but I’m sorry I can’t remember. I decided to go with the 3000. I thought the difference in price was worth it to me.

    Is the motor biger than the 1000? I prefer the front load bobbin the only bobbin jamming I have ever experienced has been with a top loader and it was constant. I have two older machines with front load and I have never had that problem.

    • @KensSewingCenter
      @KensSewingCenter  Před 2 měsíci +1

    I just received this machine yesterday. I needed it for sewing leather. It sews one piece just fine. 2 pieces?? It curles everything. The top piece slides with the foot. I have tried different feet. Even the one they recommend for leather. I have yet to get this to sew straight with 2 pieces together. It works a little better when i use the foot from my other machine. Very frustrated with this! Can anyone help me? I am about ready to box it back up and send it back. The whole purpose is to sew leather!

    • @bondee5865

      I have a vintage cast iron machine; only straight stitching and no backstitch mechanism though😔) It seems to sew better in my opinion than any modern heavy duty machine. I have a HD Singer (modern) and if I'm sewing dinner--napkins, I'm using the old-timer machine.
      Some people who sew leather material like these machines for that purpose.
      I find all of these machines work differently bc they've lasted from 120+ - 80 years in different circumstances. My husband and I have bought a couple at flea markets and he fixes them.
      My particular vintage treadle machine will not sew thick leather. Perhaps I need to adjust something as I'm a newbie to advanced sewing skills.

    • @bondee5865
      @bondee5865 Před 3 lety +1

      There are quite a few You Tube videos about using the cast iron vintage machines for leather.
      "The Vintage Sewing Machine Garage"
      is a very informative channel. He does not like to use these antique machines for heavy duty leather sewing bc it might strain an 100yr old machine but I seen where he actually did a video on how set a vintage motorized machine up to sew leather!

    Hi, what is the main difference between the HD3000 and HD3000 BE?

  • @shopwornbear1171
    @shopwornbear1171 Před rokem

    That 2018 demo model might have been using the 1.0 amp motor, but Janome did a bait and switch, and downgraded the motor to a mere .05 amp motor. Their excuse for a fifty percent drop in amperage? The (pitifully dim) single bulb LED light that replaced their three watt incandescent light meant that they needed less power in the motor due to the fact the that other bulb drew so much power that the machine now runs much faster and with so much more torque that it only needed half the amperage. Someone please tell me how less power means more torque in relation to a lightbulb that could easily be run off two AA batteries? Just thought I'd put that out there, because Janome is not telling people the truth anymore, and reviewers are continuing to give specs off of a now defunct spec sheet instead of stating the facts. If your Janome HD series machine was made after 2018, check the label on the back where the model number is. It is printed in very simple to read English that your machine is only .05 amps now.
    BTW...Kens Sewing Center is the ONLY place you can buy the Janome HD3000-5000 extension table (I think it's NOS) in North America. I didn't like the third party table I'd have to buy in order to get something I needed for this machine (it looked ugly, it didn't have a great finish, and wasn't thick enough acrylic in my estimation. As well, seeing as I'm living in Canada, only the smallest table was available, at an obscenely high price in comparison to what you lucky Americans get for a much lower price. Well, Ken's table is a decent size, has good quality acrylic, with nicely bevelled edges, beautifully polished with Janome boldy printed across it. In short, it's a sweet add on to this machine. If you need one, they sell them online, and are worth the money.
