As far as _Scorn_ and the whole combat thing goes they were very explicit throughout the marketing that it was NOT a shooter, but people saw cool guns are got hyped for that. Personally I loved it, but I expected weird puzzles in a weird world full of more questions than answers and that's exactly what I got.

Healthcare in Germany works in 2 major ways.
One way you will get a health care service and you can get basic stuff completely covered like the doctor, minor injuries and operations, tooth care and so on. This will be automatically payed through your employer.
Second option is that you pay for some private company and get extras like pet health care, glasses health care, car insurance and so on. But you need to pay it yourself every month depending on what you used.
Both costs somewhat the same but most people don't want to choose what they are insured about so they just go for the first option.
Canadian health care is good, but the lack of support for medical workers has lead to a dearth of people and lots of overwork (especially in the past two years). This means the quality is good to excellent, but the wait times can be abhorrent unless you have priority somehow (cancer sufferers for example get priority for MRIs and surgery). Typical corrupt politicians and improper spending are to blame.
Gameplay commentary: Shields are definitely the best idea you can have with regards to eggs and advancing. A shielded set of turrets with a couple porters can dive really deep into a space and cut off the flooding in an area, allowing you to mop up from behind them and build out a full infrastructure. Also eggs can't pass through shields.
This is really fun to watch, even when there's mistakes being done! 😀
I don't know if Wander has ever registered that eggs are thrown at inactive totems. There have been several maps where he panicked because there were suddenly eggs inside his base and he couldn't figure out how they got there, but it was because he had a few totems that had not been charged. If there are launchers on the map, totems are a serious liability until you start refining the liftic for them.
I'd note that micro rifts have the same very large transfer limit as towers and pylons. M-rifts just connect to reach other, shortening the path.

So painful watching Wander struggle against the eggs in the early game, when all he had to do to stop them coming toward his base was to activate the totems...

I'm also in the boston area, zyrtec does amazing things for my allergies around here and it's not too expensive
