I'm not a Berlanga fan by any means but I hate when people kill fighters for what happens in sparring. It's practice. You can't be flawless 100% of the time. As long as you make corrections on fight night.

Edgar Berlanga is a tremendous up and coming young fighter but knocking out your opponent in the first round is not indicative of how successful your career is going to be. As a matter of fact it might be counterproductive the biggest test for any fighter is how he would react to a bruising fight and does he has the stamina and the energy to withstand the pressure of going the distance.
Exactly theres more to knocking ppl out in boxing or any combat sport that makes you champion material,I'm not a boxer but I can box and love boxing train in boxing and had hundreds of spars wit pro boxers to get better in boxing. I'm thai so its obvious that I'm a Nuk Muay and muaythai was my main source of income injurys and down fall in life. I always tell ppl that ain't fought in the ring b4 that I learn nothing from knocking out my opponent early or just beating them up without them even engaging cos I was to good for them, but when u start fighting higher level fighter I learnt so much specially when I had my first lost against the NZ champ I found out a few weaknesses that I didn't know I had even things I thought I was the best at doing. Took me to deep deep waters made me do things that I didnt even know I could do cos he was bringing the best out of me. It definitely made me train harder and from then I was on the level of the champs in NZ and then I started geting fights over seas and fighting champs from Australia and China and even then theres levels above that

Getting rounds helps build that. People always want fighters to fight when one is clearly in a position where they would have the advantage. That like saying put Conor against Canelo since they both in their 30's. I feel David wins but let Berlanga at least enter the peak of his career and skills as a boxer before trying to feed him an L without a fighting chance.
Though admittedly I'm half Puerto Rican so I do want Berlanga to end up being a top prospect, but he's yet to have the chance to prove himself I want to see how he looks going at least 6 rounds before I start saying he should be fighting the top guys.
