Was able to get over to the drivers side, rode up to the front, right next to the driver, and slugged the bus as hard as I could. Made an awesome thump and he slammed on his brakes. Another might do the same distance but use 90 percent. Just too many variables. This Tenways CGo600 surely has a lot going for it, the rear motor setup being one of them and of course the Gates belt drive. Maybe you could put it in a head-to-head test with the Ostrichoo Zeno, also a Dutch e-bike with a rear motor. Just a counter point, some of us have arthritis and other "light" disabilities that E-bikes with full assist can help on days when pedaling is not so easy. If I was in the market for an e-bike I’d definitely look at this. And you’re right about the cost. If it’s going to be your every day transport instead of buses or trains then it’ll pay for itself after a while. I think they should offer more personalisation with seats and things if you’re spending that much.

Buy the e-scooter instead (Vespa looking type) not those kid skateboard things.
They have lock steering with alarm ,weight 200 lbs and hard to steal so you do not have to lock it to a post ever single stop, plus it can carry a lot of stuff without a wearing backpack all the time.
And the wide soft seat does not try to impregnate you.
Mind does 50 km range on a charge and it goes as fast as a young person on a 10 speed petaling his guts out.
I did have to buy the optional $700 20ah LifepO4 battery. Im buying the 30ah next time then im good for 70km.
      I love mine.

For a cheaper, slightly more powerful option with similar features (belt drive, internal battery, etc) I like my Ride1up Roadster. It's got a 350W motor, which really helps on those really steep hills, a real range of about 25 miles when I keep it in modes 1-3 on my 6'3, 200lb frame, rim brakes (useful when you have to use weird public transit bike racks) and is super light (It's about 4 pounds heavier than my road bike) at only about $1000, it's kind of a hard thing to beat.
The company is pretty awesome too. Great sales support, and the whole thing's been taking really abusive (saltwater spray on the back of a ferry, steep hills) treatment with no complaint at all.
This does look like a more premium version of that. I do just think 250w without a geared hub is not enough, the battery range is INSANELY optimistic, and a torque sensor only (cadence sensors are the real "premium" feature) I don't think I'd drop another $800 on that.

The color is very nice. Where does one procure a MIK compliant back rack that fits the bike and accommodates Basil panniers? And a front rack as well? Is that battery readily available or it proprietary? And where when one buy a second, or replacement battery? Is their service network listed somewhere? Hydraulic brakes are nice.

Quality build too. Not cheap at around ÂŁ2,100 but worth considering if you're in the market for one. Just remember E bikes are not built for speed but powered assistance when needed!

This is a great review but, even though I live in NYC, the Tenways bike is a hard sell. Most e-bike shops will not fix a broken e-bike you bought from somewhere else, especially one shipped from Europe. VanMoof has a shop here in NYC and I'd be lucky to have them close by when my bike broke. Elsewhere in the U.S., if your VanMoof is broken you have to ship your bike to VanMoof here in NYC! It's crazy. Just a quick search and you'll find many people who have problems with their VanMoofs. Tenways will have issues and breaks and malfunctions too and you will be screwed. It's just a matter of time.

This bike has a different audience than me, but it’s good seeing innovation at the lower end of the eBike market. Belt drive is an excellent choice for a market segment that probably never turns a wrench and has no thought about bike maintenance schedules.
My first question regards regards future parts availability in 10-20 years, or even now globally? eBikes with mainstream components will have much easier maintenance paths versus a new bicycle brand with proprietary parts. Even on my Santa Cruz mountain bike (SRAM GX Eagle drivetrain) I worry about future availability of custom derailleur hangers. I’m stocking up while I still can.
The second question is rear hub durability and ease of maintenance? Thx.
