When you first started watching Doctor Who together, the most recent episode to have aired was Twice Upon a Time. Feels like we're approaching the end of an era.

"If I run away today, good people will die. If I stand and fight, some of them might live. Maybe not many, maybe not for long. Hey, maybe there's no point in any of this at all, but it's the best I can do. So I'm going to do it, and I will stand here doing it until it kills me."
That monologue is the ultimate Doctor-defining speech, it perfectly conveys the Doctor's character and why they do the things they do. It's a beautiful scene, Peter Capaldi delivers it to perfection and in the process cements himself as the best Doctor in my mind.

11:41. The saddest part of this is that throughout all of Classic & Modern Who The Doctor wanted to make amends with The Master so they could be friends again & travel across the universe together, yet it never happened. But here Missy says she wants to stand alongside The Doctor to protect people, but her past life as The Master prevents her from doing so, & The Doctor never knew that Missy/The Master was willing to fight with him. Plus, as Capaldi said earlier, she died a hero with no 1 to witness her stopping her past self & on her way back to The Doctor.

    "How did she survive?"
Answer: She's Bill MF Potts; just accept it.

I love that fact that the Capaldi's tenure starts with the Doctor holding a mirror to the clockwork and saying "You probably don't even remember where you got this face" and then season 10 ends with Bill staring into the mirror with a look of confusion of how she got that face. This finale as a whole is better than the season 9 finale but I love Heaven Sent as a stand alone ep more. Respect to everyone on set for making this fantastic episode happen, double master, Cybermen army, and a heart wrenching speech from the Doctor. Can't get better than that. Deepa was much more into this finale than I expected! I figured the ep would stress her so it's cool to see her get excited and invested.

14:14. There are several references to both Classic Who & Modern Who regeneration stories during this scene & monologue by Capaldi. Also, that's David Bradley who portrayed William Hartnell in the movie An Adventure In Space And Time, but here he's portraying Hartnell's 1st Doctor Who.

Missy redemption ark though this series was incredible. I always find this ending for the 12th Doctor dark. Didn’t know if Nardole got those kids to safety. Didn’t know that Missy was going to side with him and didn’t know what happen to Bill Potts.

12:29 without hope. Without witness. Without reward. Being good is what we do in extremis. In that moment, Missy was 100% 'good'. That's the tragedy.

Loved Deepa's reaction, and I agree with you both: Heather's appearance was kind of out of nowhere. As you say, just the smallest of reminders mid-season would have made it seem less abrupt.

I personally think the return of Heather is one of the greatest moments in Doctor Who history and actually made me cry.

It’s slightly terrifying to think that if you keep up the pace you’ll be all caught up for season 2 / series 15!

This finale is my favourite finale in all of who, I really can't think of a better one in it's 61 year history, a true 11/10. The speech the Doctor gives to this is iconic and unforgettable, I once even quoted it to my therapist in relation to wanting to be better. Everything about this is superb, it's so great that it can be hard to articulate it properly. Like if I had to end Doctor Who forever, write the last ever episode and this one didn't already exist this is how I would end it all.
One of my favourite lines in the episode is when the Doctor thinks he's dying and looks up and says "Pity. No stars. I hoped there'd be stars"

It's absolutely iconic in every way ....everything here is just the best most incredible finale! Parting of the Ways and The Big Bang right behind as my trinity ... But this I agree if the end was here this would've been one of the most sublime finals ever ....

I'd like to think Puddle Bill and her Puddle Girlfriend did something to hide or move Nardole and the kids to safety. Omnipotent superbeings, and all.

Deepa’s face when puddle girl returns hahaha. This show is so stupid, and I love it! They really said we’re gonna do the “bury your gays” trope and spit on its face. Resurrect your gays and let them fly off together!

Capaldi's Doctor's 100% companion mortality rate is a little concerning.

Merry Christmas to you! Enjoy your festivities, they will be the last of this kind for a while. 😁
On top of marking the final episode of the Moffat era and the last one that aired before you started reacting of course. Quite the milestone indeed.

    Did you get it?
    Do you see it?
As I explained in the last video we see what is a fixed point in time, time loop.
In these two episodes we found out where the master was all this time.
Stranded on a Mondasian Colony Ship, because his Tardis was broken.
We also find out that this was the event that caused the master to regenerate into Missy.
So from this episode we learn where Missy came from.
    Do you see it now?
Well as the Master regenerated into Missy, she fixed her Tardis, then what?
She went back in time to manipulate time lines, to get Clara to be with the Doctor. The two versions of Clara.
She was the one that gave Clara the number to the Tardis in 'The Bells of St. Johm' episode.
That means that the episodes from the Snowmen to The Doctor Falls are in a timeloop that are fixed points in time.
The Master and Missy are locked in a timeloop that are fixed points in time of events that have to happen.
She has to go back in time to ensure that Clara is with the doctor, because it is Clara that saves the Doctor twice, at least.
The Name of the Doctor and The Time of the Doctor.
If the Doctor died in series 7, then series 8 and on never happens.
    Remember this going forward........
