- The SG 906 Pro 2 is the third and arguably the most capable drone in the SG906 series of drone from ZLL. This GPS brushless motor camera drone is a pretty good value for the money. Nice review as always, this series of drone has been my practice drone for basic maneuvers, very sturdy and not expensive. Had my beast pro crash several times on trees and wall and still it goes. I wanna get the beast pro2 now just because of the 3 axis gimbal and it works with my other extra batteries from the pro even though its a smaller capacity. Keep flying and we'll always wait for your new contents.

Good review, took the price point into consideration for what ultimately is a toy and can't be compared to professional drones. I'm getting one, 3 axis gimbal is the killer compared to others.
The Hubsan Zino is only $239, and performs much better than the SG906. They all do have their place. 👍

IQ. Thank you for the review. Something to consider,in regards to flight time,,and i am not pro,,but have owned two Holy Stone drones now for one year. Once you go into the 'sport mode' or fastest flying mode,,your battery life will half,,it is that simple...if you are wanting to do videos,,i have found that slowest mode is plenty sufficient. I get a full 26 minuets flight time recording from take off,,until 1 minute before landing video running. If i change to full speed mode flight time is half,It's that simple. Thanks again.

Over the years I was always tempted to try one the SG906 Beast drones. I finally purchased one when the 2 axis gimbal came out in the Pro version. I was impressed unboxing it but everything changed when it was air born. I think I may have received a defective one from TomTop and they didn't respond when I contacted them for a refund. The first issue I had was with the RTH function, it lost signal about 150 feet away as it went behind a building. I waited about 4 or 5 minutes and tried hitting RTH on both my phone and the receiver and had to walk under it hovering in the air and fly it back manually after it reconnected. It had photo quality like a Eachine E20S. It didn't yaw as I had hoped and high speed was like low in my Bugs 4W, it's very slow and the Bugs go's out a lot further and does RTH when tested everytime. I gave the Beast Pro 2 to a friend who didn't have any drones. The new Eachine EX5 has amazing photo quality and looks like my Mini but obviously it ends there, it's going to my sister. The Bugs 4W is the only under $200 drone I have after flying numerous others. I tend to stay with DJI but like most enjoy playing around with other drones here and there as I love flying them. Really virtually all of these bargain priced drones cannot even compare to DJI products. That doesn't mean they are bad, but the axiom that you get what you pay for applies. 👍

Hi Marcus, Another entertaining review. I've got one of these. The gimbal up/down is fast but continuous if you hold the buttons in. I don't get much joy out of the screen adjustment but that could be my Android S20 phone. It will come home with low battery. The battery gets better with a couple of charge cycles.
Watch the bars on your controller when you lose RC and move it around a bit but I think you need to change to English and take the drone out of beginner mode first. That's behind the settings symbol in top right hand corner.
I get a consistent 900m with RC and video. This is the best value for money drone out there and you can perfectly stabilise the video in the Google photos app. There is a fix for the horizon drop problem you can get with this model. Cheers, keep droning on.

@@IdahoQuadcopter I'm sorry I have a beast pro as well and I got a bit confused. That pro one gets 900m and 1370m with an app tweak and an ASUS 8db 5g antenna mounted on the controller. The pro gets me 1370 as is. The geo fence prevents any further distance but the general Wifi is better on the pro 2.
I bought two of these and love them - Great drones for under 200.00.

I looked at these more "budget" drones, but couldn't bring myself to buy one as my first drone. So happy to have bit the bullet and go with the DJI Mini. Loving the content, and keep doing what you're doing. BTW, I live 350 miles S.E. of you, and pass through the Ada County area frequently. That looked like the Caldwell area?

Hi got a question. When I insert my sd in the laptop, the video quality is coming out at mp4 and pictures as jpeg. Is there something I’m doing wrong where I’m not getting full resolution? Thanks
Yes, the video from the SG906 is MP4, and the pics are jpeg. I think you're doing right. The resolution on the SG 906 is only 1080. 👍
I hate you didn't get a chance to review the Bugs 4w 4k. No dropping at take off, way, way faster, no beeping when adjusting the camera, smooth camera control, real solid piece. If mjx had put a good gimble on it, the would have had something.
I'm a big fan of MJX and the Bugs drones. I recently reviewed the Bugs 7 and Bugs 20. Both are great products.
Not a bad little bird for the price. The image quality and its stabilization looks good.

I just purchased one of these. Mine came with 2 batteries and the tote bag. Paid $161 delivered . Not too bad I think.
I have several FPV quads, a Syma X8C, Sg700D,and a couple Hubsans . The H507A+ with controller, and the little H105D+ with the controller and built-in monitor.
This will be my second GPS Quad and my 7th or 8th FPV model. Have a couple el cheapo FPV quads and the most expensive too. I only paid $161 with 2 batteries and the tote bag. Not bad I think. Should be here in 4 or 5 days.
All the reviews are pretty good for this quad/drone.
Sorry. I really have an issue calling these "drones" as they really aren't. They are quadcopters. Drones are actually autonomous vehicles that requires no human or operator input. Ya , know. You program them and they do their thing on their own. Quads n the other hand need to be flown or piloted

I would not call the SG906 an alternative to the Mavic Mini. The Mini is a much higher quality drone, and has more capabilities. Save up for the Mini if you can.

Hi, I noticed that when you were having an issue with the yaw stick that there was a button lit on the app screen that that said STOP. Maybe there was still one of the "smart" features running?
BTW, I have noticed a number of times that the Li-Po batteries don't work properly after a first charge. I suggest that you try recharging it a couple of times and testing. Also, the battery level falling on flying the drone compared to when parked may just be the motor load dropping the battery level.
BTW, your video wasn't much different than my 2-gimbal Beast Pro. I wonder if the 3-Gimbal feature was rushed?

So far, my best semi-budget drone is the Fimi X8 SE 2020.
That stop button will kill the motors. 😮 I like the Fimi too however this drone is less than 1/2 the cost of the Fimi. 👍
I have the SG 906 Pro and get about 17 mins of real flight time before low battery alarm goes off. I did upgrade the internal 5.8 Ghz antennas to a PCB and actually put a stubby 5.8 ghz on top and can get 1KM out in the country, open field, etc for the control and about 800 meters for the video. It's a good drone for the price.

@@synergy021 czcams.com/video/QzXB_mB-a3g/video.html (This video shows you how to essentially do it) For the 5.8 Ghz mod there are two antennas that actually go into each of the front arms. Just disconnect them and leave them in the arms as it easier to do so. I installed one PCB antenna like in the video and installed a stubby 5.8 Ghz just about where the beast logo is on top simply because it had the internal volume below to allow for the SMA connector.

have you considered break-in time for your battery there are some comments that say the second to third flight seen more time because of battery break in.. great video..

I've watched other reviews where ranges of plus 400 meters were reached. Are you sure you weren't i beginner mode. I don't recall seeing you adjust settings.
I suspect that if I had been out in the country I would have got more range. 👍
When you land and stop the motors your battery voltage will be higher because you don't have nearly as much of a load on the battery. When you are flying the battery will indicator will show less. The better the battery's quality or condition the closer those two voltages will be.

Hi Markus. When motors are working, battery level is droping down of some tenths of volt...And on any model. Due to internal resistivity (some milliohms) of lipo battery! This is a normal behaviour and increases if higher consumed intensity...
This is my first drone since the original phantom came out. Just want a decent camera to follow the kids around while they ride their dirtbikes

You can change the camera angle via the on-screen slider much smoother than the buttons. You need to change the language in the software settings to English. You have the settings to SD and not HD for the best quality. Yeah, the battery shows low even though the battery lights show 2. I think one of the reasons is that it needs to make sure it has battery life to come back to base if it’s far away. 15 mins are the average flight time.

The antenna stick on the right side has a thin aluminum wire running through it on the back outer inside channel. The left antenna I can't find any wire.

I'm finding I've got about a 1 minute delay in the video feed to my phone. I've got the stabilization and 4k correction turned off but I still have the issue. I will try with another phone but my phone should be capable. Is there anything else I should be looking at?
These lower end drones tend to have a fair amount of lag. I don't like it either.
I have the original beast so captain drone says that the batterys for the original drone will fit in that drone ...so there will be some experimenting with some of those batteries maybe you have a defective battery .very interesting I haven't flew my beast maybe once so I can't say how long the flight was.let you no when I get mine .

i have the beast pro an mine an 3 others friends with the pro all are having the same issues with connection an battery life its something to do with the janky app my pro worked great til the last 2 updates an now its cut connection an battery life in half i would say an its not the batterys in my remote causing any issues cause ive tested the volts we need a update for the app an need it asap..

So I've owned the sg 906 Beast. The first one. I was pretty impressed with it for the price. A few things I will say about. Firstly I think the video quality is meant to record at 2k. From the videos I've got it was pretty sharp. As for range it has a 300m range with WiFi 5g. Now depending on your phone this can impact the distance you can transmit to your phone. Now I have the Samsung s20 ultra. I've flown that drone out to 300m before it lost connection with my phone. Unfortunately I tried to get it back visually and with a strong wind blowing....I lost it lol. But it does have a 800m range with the controls. I also had it up past 52meters in the air and it could have kept climbing. As for the battery same thing. It said it was low but the battery was at half. I also think with recording if you're out side of the wifi point it won't stream to the phone so it stops recording. I think for the price its a pretty decent drone.

@@DimitrisDr3am Neither the SG906 nor the X12/C-Fly Faith would be very good in the wind. I would recommend the original Hubsan Zino. Often it can be found on sale for around $250.

I recently got the Pro 2 and says it can do 1200m and I am only getting 200m at a push like you and lose signal with the same message! Is there a fault with the new pro2? Or is the controller?? Does anyone know the reason it does this?! Sorry I am a new to all this! Thanks
No question that the Pro 2 is range limited. I may try it out in the country one of these days and see if I get a better result.

If you want the gimbal to be a little bit smoother, use the screen slide control on your phone. It is stepless( all be it still a little clunky) . Definitely better though.

No, I think that's just a factor with this drone.
You have to switch of all the photo upscale and video stability and that will stop the lag because its awfull with them on plus it eats the battery the app is very glichy it gets upset if the kp level is above 2 i have the csjx7 and also have the 906 pro good drone for the price you really need a top class android phone for it to work at its best

Because the drone is greater than 250 grams, I did put my FAA registration number on it. 🤷♂️
When you lost control of the sticks, I had a similar situation - I was in my front yard and was landing my drone - When it got about 2 feet from the ground, it shot up like a rocket about 30 feet high - I lost control as well for about 15 seconds - Finally, I was able to get control back and land her - I did hear that WIFI connections are really bad and Occusync is good, but I don't feel like spending $800.00 for that kind of drone -

On paper JJRC X15 6K HD but it looks like it’s an “improved” KK13 with a Sony TMX378 camera for less than half the mini. Hey you said cheapest but wait for updated review to see what improved means. It’s just 2 axis but yaw control was poor on this one I don’t think it helped anyway.
I saw an Australian reviewer modify the original Beast' WiFi by adding an external antenna. That would be interesting.
Mavic pro platinum is still my fav. But still GREAT JOB MARCUS. 🍻

FACT: These 7.6 3400 mAh batteries will work in an original SG906. The 7.4 2800 mAh batteries will NOT work on a Pro 2 (They're too long). I know. I own two of each. 2 - SG 906 & 2 - SG 906 Pro(s) and lots of extra batteries.

For the price, there's not much out there with a 3 axis gimble. The new HS 720 E with 4K still has a 2 axis gimble, with electronic stabilization.It cost over a 100 dollars more, and is claiming superior performance.Did you happen to use an app and see what the Kp was??I live North of Boston, and had a 6Kp reading, and was experiencing controller issues as well as fpv interference.We are being affected by the increased activity of solar flares, many people have had flyaway issues here as well.Reading some of the comments from others who have purchased it, and claiming no communication problems and far greater distances, as well as longer flight time, it looks like a bargain compared to the competition. I'm hoping that you have had improved results from your first flights.
I suspect my range issues were related to flying in an urban environment. There is a lot of other WiFi interference.
When in drone Remote Control I see 1350 meters in real map I see only about 850 - 900 meters :-) (I have this drone)
If GPS not on, is it hard to fly ?

I have several DJI and cheap drones. DJI drones are great, but these cheap drones are also fun. DJI drones are so smart they make flying boring. Drones with more tactile input make the experience more enjoyable.

@@trini_boi2414 My Phantom will record in 4K, which is way to large. Upload a 4K video to CZcams, and sit back. It will be a while. I have all my drones set to 1080P. I do not think that the improved video quality of 4K merits the huge file size. I have never had anyone say, " Oh that must be 1080P. The point is don't bring a cannon when a rifle will do! If you shoot for cash, I can see having a drone that shoots in super high quality, but for everyday use crashing a cheap drone will make you cry less! You are correct in that DJI makes some super high quality stuff, that many can not afford!

Hello again Marcus! Well that old saying that you get what you pay for is certainly true here! The video was not the best and the range was a lot shorter.The drone however seemed to have good control. I like the review but I won't be buying this drone. Thanks Marcus,Dan down under
