  • Neuroradiology board review. This lecture is geared towards the ABR core exam for residents, but it would be useful for review for the ABR certifying exam or certificate of added qualification (CAQ) exam for neuroradiology.
    In this video, we review gyral anatomy of the brain for some of the more common gyri, including the frontal lobe, temporal lobe, and midline/paramedian gyri.
    The ABR board exams, both core and certifying exams, contain some basic anatomy and all of the structures here are fair game. You should be able to pick them out of a list of options as well as put an arrow on them if necessary.
    This is the final video of board review 2. Tune in for more videos later!

    Around 2:30, the structure labeled 2 looks like precentral gyrus not inferior frontal gyrus. Inferior frontal gyrus should be more caudal and should not show up on this slice. Just a thought.

      Ah, yes, I see what you are saying. It looks like there it is the lateral part of the precentral gyrus. Nice pickup! No one else has noticed that. I'll try to fix that in the future.

      Yes, on a good quality CT, you can often see it.

    4.14 where is medial frontal gyrus?

    • @LearnNeuroradiology
      @LearnNeuroradiology  Před 3 lety

      The medial frontal gyrus is the medial most part of the superior frontal gyrus. Most people consider it a part of the superior frontal gyrus, and I don't use that term commonly. I instead just say superior frontal gyrus.
      Check out this link which has a few useful pictures.

      Sir what about inferior part of brain? Some ppl use just use - para hippocampal ,lingual ( as part of medial OT gyrus and fusiform gyrus ( lateral OT gyrus)
      Some books write - para hippocampal ,lingual, medial temparo occipital and lateral temparo occipital .
      Which one is correct ?

    • @LearnNeuroradiology
      @LearnNeuroradiology  Před 3 lety

      Check out this link. It seems like they are suggesting not using medial occipitotemporal gyrus at all and rather referring to it by its components the parahippocampal and lingual gyri radiopaedia.org/articles/medial-occipitotemporal-gyrus?lang=us

    I wish people would accept their natural voices, even if it means speaking in a slightly higher pitch.
