- The CEO is Saving Helldivers 2 and recognizes that what made the game fun isn't as easy to find like it once was. I hope the meetings around balance are focused on making weapons enjoyable & viable while looking at what's working right now that players want to use as a blue print to bounce idea's around.

Ceo seems like one of the few members of arrowhead who isn't trying to sabotage this game
I only know of a few peeps and bosse, twin beard & the CEO seem like good people who are good for the game.
@@OhDough Twinbeard is the only CM that actually does their job. He answers questions and tries to bond with the community and doesn't actively try to be an asshole like some people
@@koji5705 I think its down to the fact hes older tbh. A lot of mods on discord are young.
They need to demote alexus like yesterday
Half of the balancing team are actually plants from Sony.
"balancing" isnt needed, this is not a competitive game, "fun" is what is needed, every gun needs to be fun in its own way.
yeah even if they scaled up the dmg and stuff its not like getting sideswiped by a charger or bile spewer acid thrower attack wont kill us lol
Balancing IS needed but not to the extent that HD2 is doing. Breaker, Railgun, and Eruptor are all examples of how garbage the balancing team is. These were all great weapons in a game were most weapons were garbage, but instead of buffing other weapons to similar tier, they just made those weapons into trash tier. I haven’t seen anyone use the breaker since it’s nerf, and very rarely Eruptor and Railgun since theirs.
Every balance change should be followed by "And that's a bad thing because?" If it ends up making the game less fun then it's a no. Just adjust the enemies or objectives. Slamming bugs amd bots is the point isn't it?
@@crashdummyfreed9088 Still find breaker fine-ish on bug missions, great weapon for just magdumping a big enemy you don't like - but yeah, balancing is very needed atm.
Nah, balancing is definitely needed. It just needs to favor fun and player power fantasy as part of the overall process.
They need to fire Alexis. That idiot destroyed hello neighbor 2 and is helping sony finish off helldivers 2
He absolutely needs to go before the end of this year, because he's actively going against the CEO and customer visions.

@@black_ghost1215 especially when we played that fun game for 4 months and then you ripped it away while having a psn debacle... like jfc lol
The only meeting the CEO ever needs is one that involves Alexus getting fired and replaced with 2-3 balance devs, so there isn't just one dev holding the final say on these changes. Alexus definitely needs to go though, he's been a blight on both Hello Neighbour and this game, and has not changed his mindset in the years since ruining HN.
💯💯💯💯💯
What happened to Hello Neighbour?
There's a few video essays on what happened with Hello Neighbor 2, but the gist is that Alexeus has the "I know what's best for you, not you" mentality and butchered HN2 with his "design philosophy" and helped tanked the game. In short, unless the CEO puts some restraint on Alexeus influence, or just straight up fires him, Helldivers 2 has a real chance of ending up like Hello Neighbor 2 (not just because of Alexeus, but he will put gas on the fire).
Agreed there should slways be more than one person for that type of position get several opinions
Its weird and refreshing to see a CEO actively involved and invested in one of their own products/properties.
Right? Even if its mostly lip service, the fact that he's so receptive really takes the heat off the game.
@@elfireii328 Regardless, they made an astronomical killing off of this game, they could very easily have just gone silent and continued with the game as is. Sony would have had them make a new game when this one dies, because of how profitable it was for them.
It says something that they are still here, and active.
It's not just the communication either, he talks like a normal person, like somebody you would meet in-game and have a good time with (same goes for Twinbeard). It just connects them to the community much better when it doesn't sound like it went through tons of people first to sound like safe, corporate, lip service.
Small developer, similar to how the CEO of Larian worked to make Baldur's Gate 3 so great.
It's weird how the CEO is the most in touch with reality and how to treat customers.
You don't see that too often anymore. Meanwhile some of the community managers have been terrible.
CEO, main devs and twinbeard doing work.
The CMs and balance guy? Not so much.
isn't twinbeard a CM?
CEO doing work. You guys suck anyone off for anything. Bruh let his game get to this point. Signed all the contracts with sony. Has done nothing but back peddle about his employees bad behavior, as well as lie up front about it all being sony. But yeah hes putting in some work. Work trying to cover his tracks.
@@asdf_asdf948 he is so far the one reasonable CM
@@DaaClaptain You got some sources for that pal? All that I've seen is him explaining that the whole PSN thing was NOT part of the initial contract and added later without him being able to do anything about it. And he's a CEO. His job is not to develop the game. That's what the people in their respective positions are there for. If anything you could blame him for hiring those people but even that wouldn't have been him personally. I don't think you know how big companies function.
Fun Weapons = Fun game. Simple. Stop spreadsheet balancing and I'm glad the CEO is actively involved.
Exactly this, it's pretty obvious that the balance is being done purely with numbered metrics like times selected and damage, rof, mag size etc. Nobody is looking at them and going "but is it fun?"
Exactly, enjoyability is a metric completely unaccounted for.
Last time I checked the CEOs honeyed words haven't done a damn thing so far, so why would anyone get excited now?
Im sorry but the second you use statistics/popularity in order to balance, especially if its punishment; you have failed your job and have no business doing game balancing, especially if you dont have atleast a decent grasp on the actual game. Which through streams, apparently the balance devs are dogshit and get trashed at difficulty 4-5.... just who we need.
@@fire_drake12.arc.24 Wait really? Ain't no way the Devs are dying at 4-5 diff LOL. I gotta have links man cause if so, that explains SO much and makes me really hate the balance team even more. Man I'm glad I went back to DRG for the time being.
The loading screen "warning you are in range of enemy artillery" is my favorite
I heard that line of text
the patrols wouldnt be so bad if they hadnt nerfed all the weapons
Tomorrow's patch be like:
-Sickle now comes with zero spare heat sinks
-All guns now come with half the amount of ammo
-Each resupply stratagem only comes with 2 resupplies now
-Patrol spawns doubled
-All stratagem cooldowns doubled
Not since Dead By Daylight have I seen a dev team fight against its own player base so hard.
The Dead By Daylight Traumatic Stress Disorder (DBDTSD) is real
Which I why they are so hesitate to not live stream themselves playing the game. They know what the community will say to them within the chat.
I'm glad TwinBeard is still doing his job well and being kind to others despite his awful coworkers honestly. Hope arrowhead hires some competent people soon, game's needing it for sure.
Considering the stuff they were saying and the reason behind firing spez (he was fired because he was supporting review bombing), i don't know if community menagers aren't forced by sony.
@@michasokoowski6651 I think he was fired partially because he was a dick more than because of Sony's displeasure with him. No one that toxic should've had a CM role, and the community weren't happy with him having it, so I think the higher-ups definitely considered that as well when making the decision to remove him.
@@Perseus7567 TBH there is at least one other community manager that during the whole Sony thing was being a dick, and they still have their job. Pretty sure the review bomb comment (and the community following through with it) is what pushed him out.
I imagine the meeting went something like this. "Buff everything." Then Alexus starts to speak, but he's interrupted before he can say something stupid. "-shut the fuck up, Alexus. You're no fun. That's the problem. Make it fun. Give them what they want. Fuck balance. If they'll pay for fun, give them fun."
"we're going to buff the primaries" - CEO
Alexus: "REEEEEEEEE"
Fr though, Alexus has a personal hatred towards gamers in general, and I've no idea why that guy makes it his mission to just ruin games/fun.
Just fire him.

Us asking politely didn't get any response other than gaslighting and "git gud" from their staff, but a 40,000 decrease in players in 3 days seems to have done wonders.
that's how it works sadly, companies don't give a shit until their bottom line becomes threatened
If they manage to pull this off... My HD2 addiction will become unmanageable.
Sounds like what they're missing is some managed democracy.
I was already addicted to the game. Making it more fun adds sprinkles and confetti to it.
Honestly its kinda sad how proud you guys are to admit a massive L like this. Why is western culture so desperate to be so edgy.
@DaaClaptain wtf is that garbled mess of a comment
Unlimited, unmanageable, managed democracy!
Geological surveys seem like to be the hardest mission type to do because ontop of the broken patrol spawns, the missions themselves trigger forced breeches/drops so its justfeels like a constant uphill.
The one silver lining is that at least it's predictable. You can enable the drill, run around until the reinforcement despawns, and then circle back.
Yesterday i did a geo survey and the drill triggered a drop with 3 striders lmao

I'm being carefully optimistic, currently taking a break from the game. Only 1 ship upgrade missing.
Didnt i hear him say, all weapons will have a home from trivial to helldive. Easily half my weapons are so useless 6 up that they may as well give me my medals back for them. Dissatisfied.
"A game for everyone is a game for no one." Remind me, who at Arrowhead said that?
If they did say that then that's kinda dumb. For any game, a strategy that is good or viable at max difficulty is usually going to trivialize the lower difficulties. IMO, the only way to properly balance a game is by designing it around the highest difficulty, then creating an even harder difficulty mode that specifically challenges players in the methods they used to beat the previous difficulty.
Look up the history about DOOM (1993)'s Nightmare difficulty vs ultra-violence.
Yeah it's really frustrating to grind medals for a specific weapon just to have that weapon "balanced" after you finally get it and lose its value
It's kinda horrifying that the CEO, of all people, is the one trying to fix things.
Here's to hoping his idea of fixing is productive.
I mean hes ultimately the one that steered the ship. He signed the contracts with sony or had a part in it. Then tried to pin all the blame on sony ugh snoys forcing us to do it guys, the ceo says as he fills hes pockets with sony money. Its kind of horrifying how this company shows how incompetent it is. But yall defend anything they do as long as they say it nicely.
Have yet to see him lift a finger and he's been saying nice lies to the fanbase since day one
I would be fine with more patrols if they actually made weapons that kicked ass instead of nerfing everything into pea-shooters
I swear, patrol spawn rates when solo are bugged and we don't get linear increase, instead we get the same spawnrate for all player counts
Yup, that's seemingly exactly what it is
Twinbeard and Pilestedt, watching desperately as the rest of AH (that we know of) completely eradicate what's left of community goodwill and butcher the game they care so deeply for:
I keep seeing people defend the ceo. Mind you he had a big part to play in signing contracts with sony. He accepted sony money to make a game with sonys IP. He tried to blame all of it on sony. He then admitted he knew before launch. He was totally fine with all these CM's burning their reputation for months as the community asked for them to be fired. CM's banned players for months when they point out how bad balance is. CEO still does nothing. Now that the game is crashing and burning suddenly hes showing up and running around. They built their boat. It was a really leak and poorly built boat. But they can go down with it. Yall should quit sucking off people just because they talk nicely too you. Me on L7, factory striders mid-game, airship factory at extract...
You on L9... some air drops, maybe 2-3 slow tanks
just yesterday playing l7 on defend mission. we had 2 factory striders, followed closely by another one coming through the gate.
played a l6 mission a few days back and I kid you not we got 3 - 4 tanks at evac, couldn't even start the timer
You know it's random, right? I've had 3 factory striders at once on Helldive, only to get 2 more once we killed them.
I know they said that patrols happen every 2:45, but I personally think it's far more. I just finished playing against the bots on level four. I had the Jetpack and I got up to a fairly high vantage point, and at one point I saw three patrols out at the same time, and all of them were walking in my direction. The game is broken.
1:20 for 6+. Each person on the map gets a patrol unless they’re close enough to another player to share a patrol. It’s why the best way to play the game now is as a 4 man that slowly clears everything and wastes the clock, moving as a unit only stopping for primary objectives and samples
The spawn rates are ridiculous, not just patrols but literally as soon as extraction starts, patrols just start spawning map wide. I did a blitz mission and timed out, as i run to the extract (i was at least 1 min away) i saw MULTIPLE patrols running to the extract as well (still not even close to extract). I wont even mention the Bot spawn bug, where 20+ bots spawn in a small area, took out a horde of 30 with 1 airstrike
Had 2 leave as we loaded up for a 40 minute bot helldive, so just 2 off us for the start.
We had a wave spawn within 25 to 50M of us with alternating strider factory followed by 2 with hulks EVERY 30 SECONDS. Then 20 minutes into the mission we got 2 more players AND WE GOT FEWER WAVES! we did the remaining 7 objectives in the last 20 minutes like a walk in the park.
From what I heard, after all primary and fab/bug hole is wiped and you proceed to extraction, the patrol timer is around 10 seconds lol
The retrieve essential personnel quest is broken, nonstop bots drops the WHOLE time. it's fine when just little guys but when they start dropping pairs of devastators or heavy devastators, it's overwhelming.
Before they messed with spawns and enemies in general over the last couple updates I played on impossible/helldive only and was fine as long as I payed attention. Now I play on 7 and I’m pissed off half the matches because every time I turn around there’s a patrol on my ass and when I gotta fight it’s almost none stop breaches no matter how fast I kill them. I still complete the missions but it’s just not enjoyable anymore. Hell I had around 10 people I played with that all did 8/9 and now only 2 of them still play the game
@Swampdonkey796 yeah, it's starting to not feel fun anymore. Solo play is obviously not ideal but forcing you to play with 3or 4 players is ridiculous.
I'll wait to see what the results are before I celebrate. Here's hoping he actually understands that the better state for the game would be bringing up the bad/mid stuff to the level of the good/great stuff.
I main difficulty 7, and I wouldn't say it's harder than Helldive generally but there are absolutely missions that feel like Helldives or even worse occasionally after the changes. I notice it more with bugs than bots.
D7 is harder than D9 for me because that's where the ego divers play. In D9 you mostly have chill guys that understand the game mostly. At least for me it's been like that.
Just came from a 7 mission where we fought 10 bot drops in a row. 4 were tanks and the other had 5 hulks.
What annoyed me the most? That my grenade gun grenades went through enemies most of the time.
That is my Autocannon as well. It literally went through the body of those troopers. Not sure if the projectile is laser thin and can just pass through their orifices.
Looking forward to the future where Twinbeard + the CEO actively smile at the positive feedback the game receives, while OhDough starts having fun again due to multiple stratagems/weapons ACTUALLY being FUN.
Here's hoping 💪🏿
Helldivers 2 is quite the subversion of the modern gaming industry. Usually it's the CEO that fucks up a good game
Very rarely do the worker bees fuck up the honey. But hey, at least there's someone with a brain cell in the studio that isn't messing up and we're lucky that it's the head honcho.
The current state of the industry is a mixture of worker bees/CEO's being out of touch with reality.
We're starting to see those worker bees simply being hired without a proper due screening process being done, which in turn is now allowing activists to come swarming in to actively ruin games to spite the customers who they deem as their enemy.
The CEO's won't do anything, because all they are busy and concerned with are the shareholders/profits, so they see the activist worker bees as cannon fodder to eject, or use as a defence shield against customers who feel cheated/scammed.
We see this as a core issue with game QC dept's, as barely any of the big games have enough working in that dept to make sure quality control is working as it should, but instead today we're getting none of that, and instead we're getting strict mobile app development cycles with no QC (basically building an app as barebones and building upon it down the line, which many AAA games, even indies are adopting now with them going into early access).
@@dirge7459 I bet they are doing that because they saw the profits from mobile games market... meanwhile i really wonder, how much of this income is false, since a lot of mobile games market is in china and well... china isn't very honest about their economy
@@michasokoowski6651 They are real, they just don't understand that mobile games are design in a way to keep people playing and addicted to not leave. Which is why you see all these triple A games fail those two points.
I mean the CEO has been no where to be found as the game slowly slipped down hill since launch. Now that hes showing up last minute to save the day is too little too late. Now that i think about it i guess he is a prime executive. Acts just like all the suits in sony.
Grenade launcher needs a buff. Needs one more clip and maybe some more heavy armor penetration and bigger blast radius.
It needs a buff but probably the biggest thing against it is that we never know what kind of enemies we'd be facing. If it were a spitter world or a world with tons of small, but less armored enemies, I'd probably bring it more often.
@@windsgrace688 I actually run it nearly 100% on the time and it works really well honestly. It's a great all around weapon. Great for wiping drop ship troops before drop, clustered enemies get juiced, medium tier enemies go down reliably. It's also great for breaking factories and closing holes. It just sucks against flying enemies and heavies. If it just got more armor penetration, and maybe some velocity changes or maybe an ammo upgrade that would be fantastic, It does NOT need a nerf at all.
I feel like destroying fabricators and bug holes should put a temporary decrease to enemy spawning and complete side objectives would increase them but have an effect on negative modifiers (spore map, orbitals scatter, etc). It would give the game a more feeling of depth
At this point I’m thinking what even is the point to closing them? I close them every mission, almost all of them, and it seems like it’s 50/50 we either get swarmed beyond belief or we get nearly nothing during extraction
From what I understand taking out all the bases just lowers patrol and breach spawn time
Honestly if anything, going out of your way to clear every outpost should provide an additional campaign contribution point.
It increases the frequency of patrols, but means they spawn at the edge of the map rather than from the nearest fabricator or base, according to some dude who put up loads of figures and stats on reddit
It still doesn't make sense that there are more spawns when there are fewer people. I don't know what they were thinking when it comes to that decision.
10:20 based on the "eat this!" I heard, W1 was probably sitting in a bot turret and the audio bugged so you could hear it on the other side of the map
The CEO seems to actually want the game to be fun. and understands what the community wants and (seemingly) has the same thoughts for the game.
he's also friendly and receptive to the community.
the absolute GOAT of game dev ceo's right now.
Also im not sure why, but I'm having that same experience on helldives recently. Even in a 4 stack, we've had drops bring in a strider, tank, and 3 hulks near the mid point of the missions. Then we get pincered from the other side by patrols and we just die.
He's seriously the people's champion
Nothing but words until i start seeing bad "balancing" decisions undone and new ones added in top of them to make the majority of weapons and stratigems useful and good.
Given that it took them 3 months to finally hear the pay attention is... sad to me. This just shows that either the ceo was so isolated that he didn't know, or they just didn't care until proof of these members became too wide spread to simply ignore or deflect.
I hope that they can make good, positive changes but after 3 months... I don't know if it's to late.
Honestly at this point that CEO is a joke, he hasent gotten off is lazy sorry ass before and, as much as I'd love to be wrong, he isn't going to get off his lazy ass now

Anyone else having an issue with private lobbies showing up on the map?
I've been having CRAZY crashing issues since the last update. 40+ crashes in like 3 hours just today, that includes downtime rebooting pc multiple times. Before the update, absolutely no issues. Just did a fresh install, still does it. Can't even get planetside majority of the time. 3 to 10 seconds into the pod dive load screen it crashes. 16:30 yes, it does increase spawns, but they spawn further away. the fabs influence the spawn point. and that is why the extractions from maps where you wipe out all fabs are much easier than if you left some, specially close to the extraccion point.
Saw an example of what you were saying about defense/escort missions yesterday. We started out with 2 on point and 2 out getting samples. The point was clear with barely any enemies until the last two members arrived. When they got there we had the gates of hell open on us. Went from 20 reinforcements to 6 really fast.

11:32 This is why I hate rocket devastators and think they should be removed. Such a great idea to add an enemy unit that can spam rockets, has a very short cool down, and also has a pistol which can sometimes get headshots on your dome.
I think they are fine just reduce the rocket damage (no insta kills just reduce life to 5% left) and get rid of headshots to players. This is a PVE, who benefits from player headshots?
nothing like the "pre-screams." Sometimes my helldiver can even pre-scream in male and female at the same time
Something I've noticed: First couple of missions I run through, I'm able to extract fairly calm and collected. After that it seems things get really complicated in a hurry.
Have you seen the new turret at all? It's like a cannon turret but smaller. I was able to eat a direct hit to my chest but it shoots quickly enough that it'll hit you again when you're still down. You can verify if it is the same kind by marking it, it will have default name "Enemy Unit"
I can't believe you had 10-12 bot drops on that last drill on your own, you were the distraction your teammates needed and you came out on top!!
one thing I have noticed ever since the patch, the reduced numbers of POI's at lvl 3 in comparison with pre patch
Good... Lord knows they need to. Fingers crossed we see some meaningful change. Just knowing they're talking about it and are acknowledging it is a great step in the right direction. I'm thankful this dev team are in touch with it's player base.
My working hypothesis about the patrol issues is Bot drops and Bug breaches are pulling patrols from a separate wider range, IE if Patrols aggro at 50 meters and a Bot Drop/Bug Breach triggers 50 meters away from you then Patrols will aggro 50 meters from you and 50 meters from that Bot drop/Bug Breach potentially quadrupling your effective aggro range. When playing in Coop Drops and Breaches can spawn randomly on any player and the lethality of multiple players will accidentally destroy Patrols without even noticing it so the effect is way less noticeable in multiplayer because you're getting less Drops on your which is aggroing less patrols.
looking forward to the idea of playing again maybe in the future, next balance patch is gonna be a major deciding factor for me
ArrowHead has many public facing staff that are AWFUL(Looking at some of their current weird discord mods), but their CEO is carrying ArrowHead on his back. This man has passion, and is the reason I have a lot of faith in the game.

10:30 ok glad im not the only one that hears that non directional star wars blaster of low quality xD
I feel you on the playing better when you don't talk. I find that when I play with my friends on Discord, I die a lot and make dumb mistakes, but when I play with randoms and don't talk and stick to myself, I rarely die; if I do, maybe just once or twice.
i find that the 120 barrage is a bit more useful if you just want to get rid of a group of them
380 is mainly if you wanna soften up a base but not particularly the best when getting rid of a bunch of bot drops.
on those situation its basically a panic button

The bots seemed less hellish than normal. Lvl 4 was feeling like lvl 4 again, so I bumped things up to lvl 6 and it felt like an easier version of the previous lvl 4. Then again, I've also gotten a lot better with my autocannon
30:20 how the balance guy sees the pummeler before nerfing it
I love 2-man-ing missions with a random. Feels like way more camaraderie

28:40 - I think he pinged them for awareness, not for attacking. For others to be aware and dodge that patrol. I ping stuff with that intend, usually. Unless it's on the objective, then it is for awareness to kill :)
I haven't played in about a month and yea the patrols are crazy. Rolling around a corner or choke point and you have 2 patrols bottlenecking your squad
i did have a lvl 7 last night that, at the end for extraction against bots, it dropped bots one after another non stop. each one of us except for 1 died half a dozen times there trying to kite around and kill the bots off extraction to get back on it. wasted 11 minutes just trying to extract
"if you die to that its not my fault."
Spoken like a true barrage user.
16:38 the one large bot base with the blue buildings seems to constantly spit out hulks for no good reason. there's something similar for tanks that has double cannon turret in the layout, hence i personally call them hulk and tank factory tiles respectively.
for reference, i have seen twelve hulk corpses pile up in that tile before. it's dumb.
I do have difficult missions sometimes, my last 9 was a spawned Factory Strider at Evac, bot drop called in 2 more Factory Striders before I could kill the first. As soon as 2 fell a "patrol" came that was a shredder tank. Bot drop brought another shredder tank, 4 hulks and another Factory Strider. By the end of evac (took 7 minutes to get to the button, 3 minutes waiting for ship) I went through 6 Factory Striders, 2 normal tanks, 5 Shredder Tanks, 11 rocket hulks and so many heavy devastators I think they just replaced the normal enemy spawns. Best part, 6 deaths there, solo. I was on increment after the 3rd death. I no longer solo 9's
Damm bro what was your loadout?
@awejots Autocannon, Eagle 500kg, Orbital Gas Strike, Airburst Strike
Eradicator Armor, Jar5 Dominator, Redeemer Machine Pistol, Stun Grenades and a lot of spite, grit and perseverance
Edit: Should preface I had +25% cooldown time +50% call in time modifiers, and was on Marfark fighting through a blizzard the last 4 minutes.
I am not doing 9's until they sincerely look into the "balance" of patrols
There are less bots on your missions because you split from your team. when dropship spawn on you, they don't spawn on your allies and vice versa. If you stick with your team, you will have the feeling that they are always spawning.
I actually think that splitting team is a great strategy. But, the major inconvenient is when one guy dies... It can be hard to retrieve stuff, samples and all
I feel like heavy devastators have gotten ridiculously accurate of late.
I really agreed with the points in this video as I have felt them myself while playing the game recently. Though today I went into a mission and I had decided that this would be the final one, if it was the same feeling of the game growing tiring, feeling clunky and not fun, I was going to be done with Helldivers for a very long time at least. I grabbed some random stratagems that I had rarely used as they were not as good as many other stratagems, and off I went. For some reason, that match was the most fun I have had in a very long time. Our squad of randos stayed together, we were fighting huge hordes, we were using team reloads for the recoilless rifle and wreaking havoc, and it was so much fun. I stayed with those guys for another few missions then we parted ways, but I just wanted more, and the next few missions after that were also so much fun.
I think the feedback is important for change we want to see from AH, but I also think that the negativity can sour our taste in a delicious cake. I want changes to be made, I want it to get better, but I think the fun came from being on a team and working together through chaos. I know that many like solo and these changes affect them drastically, and it is dumb the emphasis on anti-solo, but imo some of the most important changes they need to make are not in the damage numbers of weapons, but weapons and stratagems that encourage teamwork.
(edit) I forgot to mention, the stratagems that were objectively worse than other ones? Yeah, those were a blast to use. just pure fun. and they did well too, none of them felt weak and useless. Same with the primaries I switched and used. Yes, there is a difference, but I think we need to give credit to the devs for bringing the dog tier weapons to being useful and fun at least in a niche
5:36 damn thats one metallic bug outpost
didn't realise how op the autocannon was ;o
Perceived difficulty for people joining others solo: I have the suspicion they changed something with matchmaking or there's something simply borked. Just the other day I specifically selected difficulty 7 just to quickly complete the personal mission hitting R on the planet view and I got an insanely hard mission with sometimes two Bile Titans from a single breach etc. And only after extracting I saw that difficulty was actually set to 9/Helldive. If I queue for difficulty X, I expect to land in difficulty X or wait a bit longer, not drop into X-1 or X+2.
Thank you for playing on a day map, I appreciate it a lot ❤
The thing about AH is not only they read what we say, they also keep us updated. If they were both the devs *and* publishers, AH would be the reason why we as a human race would develop quicker lmao.
I get that the CEO does seem like a good guy but he is definitely shooting himself in the foot with his commitment to “not targeting employees” despite the fact that it’s a select few employees causing issues then antagonising the player base for criticising them.
I am glad we have such a great CEO but he does need to recognise that some of the people he’s hired are clearly incompetent. Plus ngl him firing Spitz while keeping that freak who falsely accused someone of SA left a sour taste in my mouth.
He's only doing this to save face and not make enemies internally, but I'd rather make enemies internally than say, make your entire customer base your enemy, because one pays you, the other you pay and can tell to jog on/replace.
it'd be so much easier to just fire Alexus, than to just bleed players daily, until you lose general income and have to shutter down, all because you didn't want to "target anyone".
Also, no idea why AH has a ton of CM's, when there should only be 2CM's for the discord server and one for Steam, another for reddit and one for Twitter, but they don't have any for reddit/Steam, the CEO/Twinbeard basically operate the twitter account, and the rest of the CM's just fuck about in the discord server.
Basically "too many cooks in the kitchen", and half of them aren't fully qualified for the simplest of jobs.
whole CM team needs to be fired besides twinbeard
@@fire_drake12.arc.24 agreed tbh
@@dirge7459 yeah you legit hit the nail on the head, exactly how I feel about it.
The CEO probably has a much better picture of the actual internal workings of the company than we do. The community cries out that "Alexus needs to be fired!" but Pilestedt literally runs the company. He is the one handing out the paychecks. Chances are, if he tells Alexus to do something, Alexus will do it. They already laid off Spitz since he was failing to do his job at the fundamental level, but Alexus IS making balance changes, they just need to be different ones. The "work" side of things is getting done, the balance team makes a LOT of changes.
I'm glad they are rethinking the change in groups of 1-3 players. It's so weird they changed that in the first place when I hadn't heard anyone complaining the game was too easy on solo dive. I haven't solo dived for quite a while, but I found group play way easier even before the patch. In fact, it's objectively easier. Not only you can have loadouts that complement each other, but you get the effects of more bosters. So, even if you split out on a group of 4 and had (on average) the same patrols on you as solo play, you have the benefits of 3 more bosters to deal with them. The only disadvantage is shared resuplies.
I think the issue is that they're fixated on the word "balance"
Like when they tried to "balance" the breaker they never actually bothered trying to figure out why people kept using it
I'm of the opinion that major balance changes should be implemented in an opt in experimental build of the game so people can test the changes FOR the devs, effectively increasing the sample size for testing.
Idea for the strongest stratagem in the game. We need like a Boulder, a rock, a literal pile of minerals. We get the destroyer to drop this big ol' thing next to us and then bam invincible cover. Summon several rocks in an area and then wah~la a defensible base.
one of the biggest issues with the patrols and fewer players that i believe, is the fact is our primary's suck.... and being (forced to rely on our stratagems like "Alexus wants) is whats bogging the mission down. the patrols wouldn't even be an issue if we could match the water filling the bucket, so to speak. Idk if you've noticed @ohdough but with the amount of bots that drop you can almost count the seconds to be hit while being barraged with bot fire.... it's just about ever 1.8-2 sec you are hit...I'm just thankful the dev's are aware and taking issue with it.
This game is a straight up power fantasy. That’s why I play this game. It’s having over powered weapons and blinding yourself with the explosions whilst seeing big bodies evaporate. That’s what makes this game so fun. The sooner arrowhead understands that, the better the game will be
The easiest solution would be to add more difficulty levels. ULTRA HELLDIVE! or something similar. Make it absolutely stupid and borderline unplayable to most people.
With spawn changes making 4 player the easiest, I do not even play 2-3 person missions. I just leave at launch. Since the player count is tanking it is hard, very hard, to auto-connect to a 4-person battle.
You need to bring a smoke barrage. Makes this mission type so easy
We should have a mission where the amount of enemies, patrols, and dropships are the same as regular missions, but there would be just one catch.....
All the enemy spawns would be hulks. The true meme mission.
All hulks from dropships all hulks from fabricators ( dont ask me how they would fit through the door), hulks around every poi and of course hulk patrols, and it would be only available on helldive difficulty.
