Make those teeth silver for the last step and you have them extra spicy. Great work
Geiger also did the creature design for the 1995 "Species" and its sequels.
Such a shame GW have just announced they're discontinuing the dimachaeron. Such an amazing model
Hopefully it will get a new model soon, like how Deathleaper is getting one.
Stunning work man! The colourshift paints are amazing!
Awesome video, my brother! I love all the parts with the grainy green feed. It, along with your stunning conversion and paint job, really captures the feel of the movies! Keep up the badassery!

👍👍 just awesome, horrifying!
That red basing with the red shifting paint 😊👌
Great looking monsters and the whole swarm together looks just perfect 👍👍!
6:49 I'm enjoying this exact process myself 😊👌
first off, amazing job on those models and perfect timing as i was wondering what I would do with the included tyranid models in the leviathan box set.
And second... who else now has an urge to make a colonial marine themed kill team to face off against them?
Great work, love those colours together....heard of green stuff but not seen it used.... thanks for the demo 👍🐻
In future any cutting of resin is probably best done inside the computer before printing it pout
love this , turned out amazing
Like the beard, Mr Nation, I think it works nicely. Your Nids look formidably awesome, great effort.
Whenever i look up tyranid paint schemes i inevitably end up looking at xenomorph versions
Used GSW Chamaeleon paints on my Necrons gauss pipes pre Indomitus and any model with the Living-Metal keyword. Also on some actual Prodos Xenomorph models too and have plans on painting up the Leviathan nids in the same fashion, then I just saw this video and was glad to see the idea is not totally insane!
Not entirely convinced on the green weapons, but as yet not come up with a viable alternative.
PS Tesseract Glow goes so smoothly through an airbrush and gives an outstanding finish as my Aeldari Wave Serpents will attest too :)
Great video - subbed.
Heresy! Phenomenal looking heresy, but still heresy!
Thank you , Mr Elston .
🐺
Amazing project! Respect.
Beautiful work sir 😁❤️👍🏻
so cool, it s awesome !
Amazing video - although I’m slightly shocked, alien is my favourite film series and Korn are my favourite band, yet I never knew Geiger designed the mic stand! Saw the clip and looked it up - awesome!
Very cool effect. What silver paint did you use for drybrushing?
Looking great!
I like the headswap conversions. I'm not a fan of the Neon green weapons, I like it when its a bit subtle. I can see why you did it. If you were going more for an Alien vibe the weapons could have been highlighted Grey and Sliver.
Awesome Xenonids!~
Simple but effective! The colour shift oaints are awesome. They seem to work better through an airbrush... Ive only used them with a brush but still decent
With nids getting a bit range refresh means I get to test this out on all the new gribblies
@@elstonation Where did you get the alien crusher head from? and the heads at 3:31? I've been looking for months online, thanks.
@@DrangusKahn papsickle miniatures have an alien range on their store and it's part of the early sets
This is so cool, were you able to find just the heads from the creator? Or did you have to cut them from the individual files?
Some have just the heads but they are the larger models. The smaller ones I had to cut with mesh mixer
Im a little late with this one but might I ask which glossy black primer you purchased?
Thats what I was looking for. Thanks man! It never occured to me to get 3D-printed Xenomorph heads xD Now I just need to find the right sizes (don't have a printer myself). Also the recommendation of colors is much appreciated.
One caveat: I don't know if the fine resin-dust that originates from cutting the resin with a rotating powertool will be kept inside a normal vacuum cleaner. It may just be blown out at the other end. For example when woodworking with powertools, its highy recomended to use a special vac with special filter which retains the fine wood dust (on a professional level its mandatory) - and I can't imagine the dust from wood to be more harmfull than from resin. So maybe its better to just cut the resin with a sharp knife manually. I imagine the little pieces of waste-resin that originate here are big enough to stay safely inside a normal vac, because they are not dust. But I don't know, I am no scientist. Just wanted to point this out.
Back on topic: I never understood why GW made Tyranids buglike instead of "giger-like" (pronounciation is "geeger" btw, like "geek"). If I am not mistaken, the game Space Hulk was inspired by the films Alien 1 and Alien 2 (and all other sequels suck, imo^^).
Thanks again for the very timely inspiration, for I will soon start a new army of "Tyramorphs"/"Xenonids".
Regards. And sorry for the bad english.
Glad I could inspire that's a good point on the resin dust
The reason they are modeled even more into xenomorphs is because of copyrights.
In a former codex edition with their current appearance, you could give them more variation upgrades like acidic blood. Right now only 1 tyrannid lifeform which already has it as a standard upgrade still has it. Because GW was infringing upon the I.P. of the Aliens. And GW didn't want to get in a lawsuit with the likes of Hollywood where they would be on the defensive, as a note; the house of Mouse currently holds it when they bought Fox . . .
OMG !!! What is that tool you used to roll out a perfectly ribbed tube of green stuff?!?! I'm about to make a tyranid army and I have been thinking about doing a xenomorph mod to it.
Sooooo Cool!!
So cool!
What does the alcohol do to the sand before the pva glue on top?
0:00 "...full of many hammers" is kind of vague, so I spent some time researching and calculating the precise amount of them. Turns out that there are _exactly_ 40000 hammers, specifically of the war variety, which we could compactly write as "40k Warhammers". Or the other way around, both ways should work I guess
Where can i buy the stl for the xeno morph heads, the ones you used where superb
There are a few free ones on thingyverse but the other I got from papsikle miniatures on my mini factory
What is that Plastic Instrument in 7:00 used to make the tubing with the ridges?
That's the tentacle maker from green stuff world 😁
@@elstonation I... I need that... I must get it, Lol. Thanks for the info 😊👍
Awesome models and vid, the only thing that could have made them better would be silver teeth!
Where do you get the heads from?
Hi that's exactly the look i would like to get for my intruders in nemesis the board game ( they're xenomophs but without paying royalties to Aliens)
So if i got it clear is
- Shinny black primer
- GSW colorshift cobalt blue
- dry brush with some metalic paint?
- paint it over again with a translucent black ink ( could you give the name or link vallejo premium candy black?)
- then the green details? Mytrin or something like that is what i hear but pretty sure I'm not getting it right
- for the tiny green details i have tesseract glow
Could you confirm?
Awesomeness!!
Yeeeah xenonids!! Game over man!
Can I get a list of paint colors
А в 11 издании - GW добавят Хищника?! Вау! 🎉
Generations of hobbists have tried to recreate Xenomorph look on Tyranids but in my opinion it never looks well. Xenomorphs are simply too monotone, the final result is that the minis look unfinished / based with black primer & thats it.
Looks awesome... now.. add a tiny amount of PVA glue around the teeth for slime/ drool and youll nail it. Yo know your next army conversion dont you... colonial marines as Imperial guard
I was soo tempted to do this. Possibly an idea for another video with 10th edition models i think
Were get stl files at
Absolutely love the xenomorph colour. I just don't understand the green...
Wooooooah !
11:03 ayo?!😅
You should have given Duncan Rhodes credit for your use of this idea, bro!
Hey thanks for commenting. Duncan released his video on xenomorphs in April 2022. I had done my army and released a video on it in February 2022 sooooooooo 😁
Aaaakshouallie they have eyes. The semi dome covers the human looking skull structure.
edit: semi transparent dome
You madman
For future reference, it's pronounced "GEE-ger," (hard G) so you know. The lack of eyes and the total siege/hive mentality they display, the total commitment to destruction they display as well as the overall aesthetic, is what makes the Xenomorphs terrifying to me. Kinda like....Tyranids! I'd be shocked if Tyranids were not inspired by "Aliens" in any manner. These guys look amazing, and I have an ongoing goal of trying to paint Warmachine Cryx miniatures in a manner inspired by the actual Giger Alien artwork that I'm still...in need of practice with. *wince* I did, however, pull off a reasonable facsimile of a Dog Runner from "Alien 3" on an Extreme Carnivean, though...
Did he say Mute Green?
Lol moot green 😁
However much I think the Nids should be retconned out of 40K, managing to be more boring than Tau (quite an achievement!) I like the video and conversions, well done.
This video is pointless and irresponsible.
Why would you go through all this trouble if you're already 3D printing?
Just print the Papsikels models. They look amazing and certainly far more like xenomorphs than anything GW has ever made.
Your final product doesn't really end up looking distinct enough from regular Tyranids to be worth all of the dangerous techniques you utilized to make these models.
The cost of this is also grossly prohibitive. You've already invested money in a 3D printer, and taken the time to learn how to print resin, which isn't easy. You're then going to buy hundreds of dollars of GW miniatures on top of that? Why own a 3D printer if you're going to do that?
I'm left baffled that anyone would ever think any of this was a good idea.
Wow, I bet you’re great fun at parties.

I'm pretty boring since I still have all my fingers as I'm not nearly as blind and reckless as the content creator here.
Sounds like this isnt for you. I think this is rad n i think it inspires people to think outside the box.
