  • Created in 2014 by Mexican artist Bosco Sodi, Fundación Casa Wabi, in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, Mexico, is a non-profit, civil organization that aims to promote collaboration and social commitment through art. With five community-based programs including international artist residencies in Mexico and Japan, the foundation adopts its name from the concept "Wabi-Sabi," which represents a vision of the world focused on the acceptance of the ephemeral and the imperfect. Stephen Burks was in conversation with artistic curator Alberto De La Rosa on the origins of the visionary project, its current goals, and the future of artistic community collaborations.
