I'm back after being gone for what feels like forever! And Geez so many things and changes are happening in the UK. But today, I'm going back to the basic giving you some very important lessons I learnt from the Psychology of Money. One of my favourite personal finance books to date especially when it comes to saving and living moderately. Any of these lessons you'll take on board to improve your finance?
Poppy can we have some videos about Thailand please, pretty please, how did your families recent visit to the UK go etc 😉 Money is important to live and have the basics in life but as you get older you realise it is all a load of nonsense, enjoying life is much more important 🙂 I just heard you mention crypto currency, I thought you had invested in this? which is a very risky strategy. Good luck with getting more subscribers.
Yep I do have some Bitcoin & Ethereum - very volatile but certainly cold money and small portion of my portfolio so it's for long time hold. Hmm I'm going to be honest with you about the Thailand/cultural content. The real reason I don't make them any more is that every time I do, these videos attracted lots of trolls. There are kind, nice and genuine people like yourself ofcourse which I'm so very grateful of! But I'd been called all sorts in the comments on those videos and it was very difficult to not letting it affect how I feel hence why I touch other topics now. I don't really want to make a big deal out of it so I hope no one is reading this comment but yourself lol. I would love to, however, film some Thailand content while I'm in Thailand like house tour or street food stuff. Hopefully can do that in next couple of months :)
Psychology of Money is an excellent book and the author has a good blog too. Would love to hear more of your book reviews in future. Good luck in reaching 10k subs and beyond!
Anyone who says they understand the stock market doesn't understand the stock market. (I just thought of that). 😁 If I had saved the money I've spent on lottery tickets, I would have exactly the same amount of money I have now. I only buy one when the jackpot gets to £100 million. A ticket is cheaper than a big bar of chocolate. Getting very rich can be a matter of pure luck. Zuckerberg wanted to sell Facebook in 2004 because he didn't think it was going anywhere. Percy Shaw noticed how tram lines shone in the dark, (so one story of the invention goes), which led him to invent reflective studs in the road known as Cats Eyes. A friend of mine knew someone who bought an expensive sports car instead of a house. I've never wanted to own a car. The Ten Year Rule, suggested by Winston Churchill said in 1919 that the British Empire would not be involved in another major war in the next ten years. After the ten years were up, they just kept extending the rule. This led Britain to be unprepared for WWII.
Yep absolutely agree on that. There are so many variables affecting the markets and no one can 100% predict how the whole variables and individuals are going to react.
