Question of the day: What are some money lessons you learned growing up which has helped you financially in your adulthood? ❤

That it's better to spend a little more money for something of better quality that will last you a long time compared to buying something cheaper that won't last for too long and having to replace it which might make you spend even more.
Edit: forgot to mention, I looove your hair, it looks amazing and suits you so well 😍

@@Thecravingsstudio This one is so true! Thank you, I wasn't too sure of it walking out the salon but really loving it now after a couple of washes.

Thanks for the video Poppy. I had no idea some people would use credit cards in that way! It was also good to hear the Asian Money Mindest reaffirmed because growing up in the UK I definitely felt self conscious that the things I owned were more practical and less "trendy" than what my peers had (I think there was a lack of understanding both ways), but I'm glad that I can really identify what I need and want. I think there needs to be a balance though (which I think you highlighted) and for me I've noticed I'm saving for the sake of saving (watching my money lose value every year haha), and sometimes I miss/ hold out on things that would obviously make me happier or improve my quality of life.

I love your last point. Numerous studies suggest buying experiences (not things) are what leads to happiness because you can relive it many times in your memories. And I truly believe in that. However, similar to you, finding that balance can be difficult at times.

Actually I know all that but it was very pleasant to hear that from someone else. In my country (Ukraine) most of people do not understand those easy things.

Asian culture is much similar to African culture. The expectation is very similar

I'm glad you mentioned this because I noticed the same. Even non financial related aspect like the concept of respectful to your aunties and uncles, I believe that's the same in African culture too.

@@PoppyDontree Yes, it’s the same. Relating to extended family like aunts and cousins as if it’s nuclear family

Poppy, you said that it’s okay to give away your money to ‘certain’ people. Would one of those certain people include me? Whenever you are ready Poppy, I’m waiting here in deep excitement and anticipation! Do you want my Bitcoin address or are ‘You Ready’ to just go ahead and do ‘Zelle? Lmao!
