I'm barely religious but I must say that this film was one of the most beautiful I've ever seen and the soundtrack was gorgeous. Rooney Mara did an amazing job at playing Mary Magdalene and making her seem so real. This film really made me realise how Jesus - though divine and the Son of God - was really very human and how deeply he must've felt for those and the world around him.
I loved it.
GirlOnTheStreets I loved it too! Both he and she are simply a marvel to behold....the whole movie is a marvel. I'm not religious (anymore) but I grew up in the Catholic religion and Jesus is my favorite prophet, and I must say Joaquin paid him hommage in a beautiful way. And Rooney Mara is a vision...pure and simple.

I prayed to God to heal me, not for me, because I don't deserve it, but for my little children, who were left without a mother! in exactly that day, in which I prayed, the Lord healed me! I suddenly felt the pain in my kidneys go away, as well as the dryness in my mouth (diabetes). I'm a new women now! I thank the Lord for His mercy and love for us!

A beautiful, arresting movie. Rooney Mara, Chiwetel Ejiofor and the always compelling Joaquin Phoenix, are amazing. Rooney Mara is riveting. Chiwetel Ejiofor is awesome and heartwrenching and Joaquin Phoenix is incredible, best screen version of this Holy Week story.

My vote would be for Robert Powell in Jesus of Nazareth.
When you've watched a film 10 times and still the trailer gives your goosebumps, then you truly understand how great the film is.
Unpopular opinion here, I love this movie! A lot of people are pointing out the romantic portrayal between Mary and Jesus, but I did not see it that way. I find their relationship very unadulterated. To me, the portrayal of their relationship here transcended carnal desires. I also enjoy how the movie makers made Jesus' miracles and supernatural happenings look realistic and simple. It made him and the experiences of these characters much more relatable. I think the core message of this movie was beautifully conveyed. The message being, that faith is personal which is something people tend to forget. Perhaps I don't see anything wrong with the movie because I am not a Christian and I never was raised as one. Ultimately, this is a movie about humanity and spirituality, rather than a Christian doctrine and that is okay! It has a good message!

That's what I think of when I listen to Pentatonix sing 'Mary Did You Know?'. The song never asks her if she knew that she'd live to see him die and be buried. Even if she also knew that he'd rise again that wouldn't.....couldn't take the pain away of knowing that he'd die before her.

I really enjoyed this movie. It really shows Jesus and the burden he had to carry throughout his life not only at Crucifixion. Also the true meaning of the Kingdom of God. Amazing acting from Joaquin. Thought it succeeded in what it set out to do. Good Job. Can't understand all the criticism. I see nothing blasphemous about this film. There is nothing that goes against the character of who Jesus was. It is a portrail and it was well written and executed 🙏🏻🙌🏻

Same here. I absolutely love Jim Caviezel’s Jesus. In fact he (Jim) made such a lasting impression on me on his performance. In fact, I’m very eager to see him reprise his role as Jesus. Which is of course confirmed. Along with that, I look forward to see Maia Morgenstern reprise her role as Mary (Mother of Jesus) and Monica Bellucci reprise her role as Mary Magdalene. The other actors too of course I’d love to see them reprise their roles but Morgenstern and Bellucci, like Caviezel, really stood out to me.

The music in the trailer is out of this world. Where it comes from is a total mystery, though. I've listened to the entire soundtrack, and it's not there. The music also doesn't come from the Hillsong United song, "Oceans" either. Very odd that it can't be found.

This movie, like Noah and Exodus: Gods and Kings, exists only to insult Christians. The writers/directors make up a bunch of stuff and claim it as "their interpretation of a story."
Now Behold That depends. If they were making a work they themselves label as 'fiction', I wouldn't mind. However, if they were to say 'This is we think it happened' and it contradicts what main sources about the figure report, I would have a problem with it.
Now Behold The 'offspring' mentioned in that passage aren't literal children. They're children in the way, well, in the way that people are referred to as 'children of God.'
