this video is only considering human extinction (on top of removing all infrastructure such as pipelines etc, however keeping the ports of south america?) yet still keeping human historical events making it very misleading to say north america is an ideal location for a civilisation. without human intervention, horses, cows and pigs amongst many more would have never set foot in north america, making it resourcewise completely obsolete as horses cows and pigs have shaped the world as is.
saying europe has no natural borders is also questionable at best, there is plenty of gas and oil on the european half of russia, so you could use the Ural and Caucasian mountains as defence as turkey itself also lacks resources (on the asian continent) you could use the bosphorus as natural border forcing your enemy's to come by sea which in the entire history has been proven an incredible defence, even if you do keep the entirety of turkey, the Syrian desert is still great as defensive region, you've talked about this when you were saying the middle east was a desert and therefore inhospitable, where the same counts for the Sahara desert behind the strait of Gibraltar. no opposing civilisation will grow big enough between the shore of the mediteranian and the Sahara desert, so even if a rival civilisation settles in africa, you have the Sahara desert to stop or halt an invasion even before they have to still cross the strait of Gibraltar. the supplies needed for such an invasion are tremendous, carrying food all the way trough the Desert to then attempt an amphibious landing is practically impossible. having only the strait of Gibraltar and the bosphorus as "weakpoints" is far easier to defend than for example the mexican desert, even though that is harsh terrain, a landborder is always easier to attack than a maritime landing. it's interesting how these are considerered "no natural borders" for europe, yet for south america, the Panama canal is deemed excellent for defence.
Europe is the only continent where population center was brought up, considering i'm starting my civilisation from scratch, I can decide where my population center is, i'm not bound to human history to build my population, and actually, the plains of the Ukraine and Southwestern Russia are ideal for foodproduction, so building major cities in that region would benefit greatly from both food and energy resources.
op top of that apparently north america has no shortcomings? the Mississippi delta is great for farming, but also the ideal location for tornado's and hurrincanes. you're saying america has tons of oil, while technically true, most of it is actually locked up in Canada and alaska. notoriously bad farming area's and also far from where one would house a population. the Gulf of Mexico also has tons of energy resources, but this is a breeding place for hurricanes.
in conclusion, I feel a lot has been left out or misrepresented to attempt to make the USA look great, i'm guessing you're from the USA? and even though you have a wonderful country, it is a terrible place to actually start a civilisation. it's a great place to attempt to grow your civilisation, which si the reason it's such a wealthy region in the current day, but there is a reason europe colonised the america's and not the other way around. in the prehistoric era it lacked animals. and even if it wouldn't lack the animals now, it still wouldn't discard asia and europe for ideal starting locations for a civilisation. those regions sprouted big civilisations in the past and there is a reason for it.
