Thanks for the comment peter🤗 great choice. It will be interesting to see if they offer it in the new m2 but like you said it’s doubtful. Thanks for chatting 👍🏽
Got to say that I prefer the looks of the M240i over the old M2. I even like the rear tail design. I’ve owned a few M3s over the years ( last one was an F80) and have test driven the M240 and was very impressed . One thing I dislike is the current trend to make each new model bigger than the last . The M2 is a great size to hustle down a B road and while the M240i is not a big car it certainly felt bigger on the road than I was expecting. Both great cars but unless I regularly tracked my car I’d take the 240i , faster on the road in all weathers , new tech and cheaper to run. Great video👍
Hey Steve, thanks for the comment 🤗 I think that’s exactly how we felt collectively. You make some very good points. The old m2 was a great size and like you said great for hustling down the B roads. The new m240i is juts that little big bigger now. It will be great to see how the new m2 compares to it. As this m240i is fast and looks great too especially with these mods. A great daily that looks good and will save you more money on petrol than an M car! It Always great to hear from real life bmw owners so really appreciate you stopping buy to chat to us. Thanks 👍🏽
@@CarChatTV I would have to see it in person to make a judgement I thought I loved the m4 until I saw it in person (older generation not butt teeth)and I’m not keen on the look from pictures of the m240i but I just think the m2 is a stunning looking thing same with the comp and cs , to me I don’t think you can get better looking cars , I can’t see the new m2 being better Looking than the previous generation personally I think they lost their way , but I see them as perfect looking so how can you improve on perfect 😂
Unless you've driven an F87 M2 it's hard to understand how much fun it is, regardless of the so-so HP and torque numbers. It just has an intangible fun factor. I cross-shopped my M2 against an F82 M4 at the same price, and ended up buying the slower car because it felt better to drive.
Awsome thank you for your comment 🤗 it’s great to hear from real world owners their experience and what they would pick. And I think you pretty much summed up the M2 and what it’s about. Thanks for chatting with us 👍🏽
Totally agree I have the M2C now I chipped in my X3MC it was practical family orientated bullet but didn’t feel Special the M2C is in my book a classic, I’ll hang now till the new M2C drops next year because I think that will run the same engines as my X3M the S58 and it will be 4wd so a monster. The 240 looks great and fast but I need M in my life their special
For a daily the m240 would win . But as a weekend car the M2 all day long . It’s special and an event when you drive it . I have the LBB also but DCT , plenty quick enough for me
Thanks for the comment Jamie. 🤗 yeah I agree with you loved the m240i for a daily as so comfy and has what you need. But the m2 especially in manually is a more engaging experience. Thanks for chatting 👍🏽
I really like the back end of the M240i including the lights. The Remus does definitely look better, although from listening to the Remus vs standard, it doesn't make much difference. The M2 sounds better but no new cars with EU regulations are sounding as good these days. The M performance carbon pack is around £4k I believe for the sides and front splitter/rear diffuser and the spoiler. A fair chunk of extra cash but does look really good. I've ordered one in Brooklyn Grey which I won't get for another 9 months or so yet.
My Brooklyn Grey m240i pretty much loaded full spec arrived a few weeks ago and absolutely love it . Great honest comparison and love your M2 also 👍🏻👊🏻 Mine is daily driver and probably will see the track once or twice if that so it does everything I need and want . Every time I drive it I can’t wipe the smile off my face lol. Lots of compliments everywhere I go and my only complaint is although flattering at times it attracts more attention then I like . I’m sure that’s something I can get use to though and if I feel the need for some track days I’ll just buy another bike.
Great video, really interesting to see your views on the differences between the M2 and M240i. I was going to get an M2 after I fell in love with it on a test drive but I just missed out when they stopped production, and I was gutted, so I ordered the new M240i a few months back, thundernight, red brakes, bo-colour wheels, just like the one in the video, but I really have to say I love that Remus exhaust, I might have to do that to it.
Hey CP thanks for the comment and positive feedback🤗 sounds like you have a great spec there. It really is a fantastic car. Let us know what you modify when you get it. Thanks for chatting with us 👍🏽
@@CarChatTV no worries, well thanks again for the great video! Yeah, I was hesitant at first, and I ordered it relatively blind having not driven one, but the more reviews I watch the more confident I'm getting about the decision. Will do, so far thinking that Remus exhaust, and I've seen the remapping too, although I need to make sure of the implications on insurance/tax/general legality before I go for that one! I was caught out before on that a while back, a long story, but it caused me a lot of agg!
I’ve got my m240i in Brooklyn grey, the carbon body kit, adaptive suspension, tech+ comfort packs and hardon karmon sound. Effing love it. We’re the boor lights an optional extra? I don’t get the M colours as an option in the settings
M2 looks better and is more fun, straight line speed isn't everything. M240 here is modified looks wise ,stock one has mutch less aggressive appearance.
The rear lights on the m240i makes the m2 look old fashioned. The rear is a bold step, and I think we'll learn to love it.
Yeah I think after a while with bmw designs they grow on us. Thanks for chatting 🤗
M240i for me, speed plus comfort is a winning combination, although I would prefer a manual box and I doubt there’ll ever be one, even in the M2.
Thanks for the comment peter🤗 great choice. It will be interesting to see if they offer it in the new m2 but like you said it’s doubtful. Thanks for chatting 👍🏽
Still the M2 for me 😀 not sold on this new 2 series design

All cars are getting bigger 😞😞 more tech that we don’t want but need I guess
The m2 looks far better with the performance exhaust with the carbon diffuser and carbon tips not many seem to have It

From a AMG fan that BMW m240 looks crazy can't wait to see the new M2
Thanks for the comment Arthur🤗 we can’t wait to see what they do with the new M2 either. Thanks for chatting 👍🏽
Smashed it guys 👏🏼 great to see both of your points of view!
Aww thanks tish 🤗 see you soon at the SMMT 👍🏽

Motech has worked their magic again, the new M240i looks fantastic.
Thanks for the comment👍🏽 yes they can seriously mod a car. This one looks epic. Thanks for chatting 🤗
@@CarChatTV I might be slightly biased as I own the first F22 M240i Motech edition 001. 👍🏻
What model are the alloys please. I need them
Love them both but I'll take the M2!
Thanks for the comment. Great choice 👍🏽
Sorry …i think comments on the rear of the new m240i are a bit silly..I’m looking at rear of that m2 and it looks dated in comparison..
Owner of a new m135i xdrive would definitely go for the 240i
Totally agree with both your comments
Great comparison
Thanks guys
Thanks Ian, appreciate the comment and taking the time to chat to us 🤗
do red delete on the light
Good shout

Seems a little to defensive of his M2 to be impartial 🫣🫣
Thanks for the comment 🤗 yeah Adam does love his car lol. What would you choose over them? Thanks for chatting 👍🏽
@@CarChatTV Most likely the 240i. It’s an absolute shame that it’s not available in a manual

We’re the boor lights an optional extra? I don’t get the M colours as an option in the settings
Yeah they are optional
Can those wheels from the blue car fit on the purple car?
Yes I believe so 👍🏽
Test driving an M240i tomorrow!
That’s Awsome. Have fun. Let us know what you think. Thanks for chatting 👍🏽
It is a great car. Just need to decide whether the cost to change from my current 440i GC is worth it. The waiting list is circa 9 months!!!
The 2022 M240i has new 2 series body style so we need to see the new M2 before a valid comparison is possible.
Great work guys .!!
Thank you Mike 🤗
A new 2022 manual M2 is what I want to see!
The M240i looks a brilliant proposition. The CF diffuser looks like a nappy/diaper to me and I can't get it out of my head!
Thanks for the comment peter. Ha ha and now I can’t stop thinking about it either thanks 😂
@@CarChatTV I'm sorry everyone!
Whyyyy just whyy 😭
M240i front looks like a smaller 6 series
Yea good shout
Great review, loving mine👍

New version err day, wheels and grill stand out much more. Back is a little weird but that’s BMW all over.
Thanks for the comment peter 🤗 I take it you are not a fan of looking at the rear then 👀
I need the exhaust!
It’s looks Awsome doesn’t it 👌🏽 hit up motech performance 🔥
Where do we get that exaust for the m240i?
Hey thanks for the comment🤗 it’s a Remus one from motech performance. Tell them you heard it from carchattv 👍🏽 thanks for chatting
Hello 👋🏼👋🏼
@@MotechPerformance you guys have it available on your website yet?

Why would you want to do this with a custom exhaust installed?!
240i 👍
Great choice 👌🏽
Nice m240i, but isn´t M. The first M2 it's honey on bitter days.
My decision between the new m240i and the old m2 I preffer the m240i, but between the m2competition and the m240i i think the m2competition is better
Thanks for the comment 🤗 good choice 👍🏽
Coming from the m340xi, I do agree w you!
The new 2022 bmw 2series and 4 series will be a sales disaster. Horrible design
Thanks for the comment 🤗 it’s always great to hear peoples thoughts on the new models. Thanks for chatting 👍🏽
@@CarChatTV no problem. Any thing to help the car industry to get better
One’s rear wheel drive, available with a manual gearbox, and looks good. The other’s an ugly four wheel drive automatic. No contest!
Thanks for the comment 🤗 I think I know what you are saying you prefer … thanks for chatting 👍🏽
4:58 lets be honest this is ugly af as well
Lol has it not grown on you at all yet? What you think of the new M2? Thanks for chatting 🤗
@@CarChatTV black color + wing makes it look acceptable xD
New M240 obviously. It’s a grownups car versus a boy racer, spotty adolescent car..
Thanks for the comment 🤗 I’m with you on your choice I loved it. Not sure adolescent Adam will agree with us though 😂 thanks for chatting. 👍🏽
