- Trying on a selection of clothes from Florence and Fred the clothing range at Tesco. I actually ordered these from Next as there is not a Tesco near to me. I'll link them below.
They are all Size 18 and I'd say the fit is fairly accurate.

I love the bracelet Hattie made for you! It’s got great colours, and I love the half-plain/half circles, so if you’re wearing a very busy print you can wear the plain bead out, or lean into the funkiness and have the circle side more prominently. It’s very bohemian, but it’s timeless since it’s a personal item, and could be a fantastic conversation-piece! ❤

When young people like Frankie Bridge wear oversized clothes it’s obvious to others it’s a fashion statement. If we “oldies” wore them like that we’d have people thinking we didn’t have a mirror :)
An elderly neighbour of mine, - over 70 yrs ago - used to say, if a boy passed by wearing over-sized clothes, that his Grandad had died but as there was still ‘plenty of wear left’ in the clothes he was using them up. Even as a little girl that always made me laugh. Being just after WW2 she was probably right, as clothes were still on ration then.

Back in the day I remember always wearing a petticoat under my dresses, and my mum always wore a “roll on” too. That’s spanx in today speak 😂. As you say, anything worn over a petticoat always hung smoothly. I’m not sure why they went out of fashion when so useful. I think everything you wore today suited you, even the oversized jumper. Wise words indeed. These events are over so quickly after being planned for so long. As long as there’s no disasters - enjoy. Even funerals can be enjoyable when all the emotional stuff is over and you can celebrate a life. My sister and I were very particular about my Dad’s funeral. It was in Covid times but when the limit was 30. Just managed to squeeze all the important people in. Couldn’t gather afterwards which was a pity but we made sure everybody had something to contribute. Wonderful stories came out as he and Mum were wonderful grandparents to 5 now adult grandchildren. We’ve had a few big birthdays since and we’ve celebrated together so although he wasn’t there he’s always talked about. Quite a character! X

liked....but I've had to let go.😢
My husband lost him mum in covid and it hurt him so much that all her family and friends could not be there to say good buy he is trying really hard to get over the lose of his mum but he was a mummy's boy which he openly says himself but if he looked after his mum he sertenly looks after me I have to tell him not to be so fussy I'm sorry for your lose ❤

Got my sons wedding in 2025 so looking forward to it and it’s always really nice to get the whole family together to share there special day and make lots of memories, It’s a shame now since Covid the supermarkets don’t have changing rooms anymore because like you say they can look different on.
They've just just used it as an excuse not to open them again and it makes me wonder if they have lost sales. I went in today and if I could have tried on I may have bought some things, but thought I couldn't be bothered taking things back if they didn't fit and so left without buying.
How annoying... I hadn't noticed because I buy most things on line, but obviously you can't see the whole F and F range online....

Hi Helen. It’s good to hear your voice getting back to near normality. I thought the best of this haul was definitely the brown ‘suedette’ look dress and it will look really great with boots and perhaps a lovely silk square around your neck or a chunky necklace. I honestly think you should keep that one! I think having any expectations these days is probably pointless because, as you said, things don’t usually go exactly to plan. It’s so important to enjoy the moment and try and be as open minded as possible so disappointment takes a back seat. 💖🌸

Hi Helen, the brown dress was the best in my opinion. Nice for the autumn with boots. The others a bit hit and miss for me. I’m a perfectionist where stripes are concerned, they all have to match up 😩 subsequently I don’t have any striped dresses. A nice change though to see different styles. I travelled to a large Tesco today as we don’t have one very close either, and got a nice surprise as all F&F clothes had 25% off. They had a good range of some very nice summer clothes 🙂

I love how you say push the boundaries try different things...I love fashion and clothes and all the other props ! jewellry etc and not all women do or care and thats a shame ! Thanks for what you its helpful and enjoyable ! Im british but have loved in Oz for 15 years and iike to also notice the slight difference in fashons, climate of course plays a part, we have seaons but colder ones are shorter but I still find I dress very like you, thanks again :)

Hi Helen if you make it to the Tesco store you will be pleasantly surprised at the prices that have a discount of 25% on clothing at the moment for Tesco card holders which is pretty good. I am organising a party for my husband’s 70th birthday at the moment and as l am a bit of a control freak l will definitely try to be more relaxed and enjoy the planning and the event by acting on your advice. I hope your voice returns to normal soon it must be very frustrating if it keeps coming and going x
