  • Here's my new Aston Martin DBS Superleggera with a $380,000 sticker and after owning it for a little over a week now, I can truly say Aston Martin has really outdone themselves with this one. In this full in-depth review, I discuss all of the changes that Aston has made in order to adapt to today's rapidly changing car market.
    This spec is a full carbon, white pearl paint, and a vibrant red interior. The roof is completely carbon which in my opinion is one of the hottest roof lines I have ever seen come from the brand. Also, a MUST, the forged carbon Aston Martin emblems which give the car such a unique, money look.

    This guy really needs to make more videos. Literally the only car guy that says it as it is without caring about people’s feelings! No nonsense straight talking from the owner perspective. Priceless.

    that virage look is the most beautiful one among all aston martins till today

    Where I am, one of these will set you back 150K after depreciation, pretty much what a new Conti will before options and the 812 SF is still 225-250K. So it's pretty much a no brainer. Biggest steal in that segment if you can find one. Although maybe a 175K spend for a Lusso, would be the better buy, if one was so desperate for a big sporty V12 GT.
    The Volante isn't dropping so I dunno if I could call that a steal against the 812.

      I dont think they have struggled too much with depreciation to be honest. The cheapest in the UK is £160K on a 2018 plate, so £30K depreciation a year. I dont think that's horrendous, that's the cheapest also. Many of them push up into £180K easily

    Love your review but I think you left out some important items that I know you would love! Specifically the “aeroblade tech” Air flows into the vents behind the side widows and goes through channels coming out below the rear wing…creating almost 400lbs of force and very little drag increase! . Sadly you loose this entire feature with the Volante. I hate the infotainment system in their car, I hated it in my Mercedes too, but everything else in this car is purely Aston Martin. BTW the interior is still all hand done, cut and sewn by one person in each car and the rest of the car is all hand done too

    Yeah, the DBS Superleggera is a very good looking car, and it drives well (unless it's raining), but I struggle to see its "Exotic Car Hacks" value. I own a 2009 Vantage coupe 6MT, and regardless of how long I keep it I'll be able to get every penny out of it when I sell. It'll probably appreciate over the next 6 years. But the new DBS? Nah. Maybe look at it again in 8-10 years when they can be had for $125k, but for now anyone who buys one is just going to lose a metric shit-ton of money.
    PJ, when did you go from being the exotic car hacks guy to being every other new car reviewer on CZcams? No one has a problem with your success or the cars you buy for your personal use, but the content on this channel used to be about teaching the average Joe how to get into exotics as a value proposition. Don't let your success go to your head and end up abandoning your roots, dude.

      Why does it drive poorly in the rain?

    • @Kalepsis
      @Kalepsis Před 2 lety

      @@statuz9143 the aerodynamics are ill-tuned, causing slight rear-end lift, which is exacerbated by driving fast on a wet surface. Clarkson spun out multiple times and nearly killed himself because of it.

      @gregorycostello239 Před rokem

      However, you have to also consider the fact that it is one of the Supercars that will have a normally aspirated V12, which (like a manual/standard ) will be a novelty in the future. I bought my Superlegerra to drive it and excepted the depreciation, the real cost will be in getting it serviced as it ages. The V8 Vantage and DB11 will be able to be serviced by a good Mercedes mechanic, where the hell am I going to get this thing serviced when the warranty runs out other than Aston at a small fortune. BTW I can renew my warranty every 2 years until 2030, I think its worth it
