My perfect car is DBS's body exterior, Continental GT's interior and Ferrari's engine and chassis!
Dude you read my mind!
Spot on!
What colour is the Aston?
Yes hahaha
Couldn't more agree bro🤣🤣
Why the British is named in Italian and the Italian in named in English?
Cuz ferrari already used superfast name while Aston no choice but to use superleggera
And the DBS is paying homage to the DB5 with the superleggera badge on its bonnet
And the super fast suffers superfast depreciation, coz Ferrari don’t give discounts to their blinkered tifosi, they just suffer the ££££ down the drain
Lol, I wondered that bro...
because the are best cars ever.. best history/design/brands Italian/english cars
Aston does what it suppose to do. Be a Grand Tourer. Incredibly fast and agile yet supple. The Ferrari is just a weapon. Definitely more of a driver's car. On regards to exhaust I could lean either way. One is a nice deep and throaty rumble while the other has a incredible high pitched F1-inspired race sound.
Exactly.. numbers dont matter in an Aston Martin - a true GT car !
You don't drive a Ferrari like an Aston and vica versa. These two cars work with opposite Philosophy. At the end, it is a matter of taste, sporty or luxury.
Exactly.
Aston went for a proper GT, 4 seats meaning weight, torque meaning smoothness and a little less power because not needed! The ferrari is a thinly veiled SuperCar!
The Aston doesn't have 4 proper seats. The rear seats are token seats and are suitable for a 5 year old at best. I don't even think a child would fit in those seats.
Yet, proper or not, they’re still seats.
The ferrari looks like a corvette with fake ferrari bodykit on it . The rear looks like its a modernised 288 gto , the rear haunches look like there taken from a testarossa with out the slats and strakes .
@@almac9203 as long as there's room for the golf clubs!
Aston is just classy and looks sexy. I would choose the Aston 👍
Rear cabin on 2+2 seating is perfect to place a luxury handbag/ weekender/dufflebag such as HAC on a grandtouring journey🚗🚕🛍😎👍🏻
Good spot to put your servant also
Gimme the Aston ANY day it wins for me
14:08
So you drive a 800hp ferrari with those shoes?!...not bad, not bad at all
Ferrari admits the 812 is a sports car, not a GT. The 812 revs at around 3k at highway speeds, permeating the cabin with that engine noise and the ride is fairly harsh, both of which will wear on you very quickly on a road trip.
Wanna know the dream car?
A DBS with 812's engine
🤣🤣🤣
you sir, are also a man of culture!
And my dream just gets off when I think about the mercedes infotainment.....
And the lastest mbux infotainment system and a launch control
I just wish that aston stop being with mercedes and start and start a contract with ferrari
The sound of the brakes in the 0-60-0 test on the Aston @12:30 was a bit surprising for such an expensive car. It just reminded me of the sound of braking hard on my old push bike, surely there must be a way to reduce it.
Yeah. The same @13:13 too. That sound is pretty strange especially using carbon ceramic brakes. Something is not well connected hence the stopping distance which is quite awful for a supercar of that price. I bet Civic Type-R FK8 stops shorter than that.
That weird sound is caused by the carbon-ceramic brakes.
@@pitmie The aston-martin stops good. The problem is the launch, It needs a proper launch control
@@pitmie Carbon ceramics suffer from those noises if they are not warmed up its very common. Stopping distance has too many variables example; Cold or Hot road, reaction time and tyres all can make a noticeable difference.
@@Prodigyscenez exactly
Was the outcome ever in doubt?
The braking sound of the DBS sounds like my old bicycle
😂
Ceramic brakes. The Ferrari sounds the same.
One of these, is going to be an Effing bargain in about 10 years...
Mr.BigBoss7 it’s already plummeting......
With the way depreciation is going maybe much sooner than that!!!!
@@espeeareen1410 it is but not quite as fast as the Aston lol
Unfortunately not anymore, Aston recently changed the whole managment and they won't overproduce anymore, rather only sell if people pay
@@ziggs123 A one year old Superleggera is going for 100k less than msrp..
The reason the Aston was struggling to brake in good time was because carbon-ceramic brakes need to already be hot to be any effective. Much better for the track since once up to temp they brake much better, but will do poorly when there has been no prior demand for the braking system to get up to temp first. Steel brakes are almost always better for the street because you always want to be able to stop as quickly as possible, and they don't need to get hot first in order to do that.
Carbon-ceramics shine on the track because they will withstand higher temperature and won't experience a drop in performance the more than you use them, whereas steels will overheat much quicker and braking performance will decrease the hotter they get. Steels will lead to slower lap times after each lap, whereas the carbon-ceramics will only suffer on the first lap or two whilst they get up to temp and then will perform faultless for the remainder of the track usage.
Did these guys even bother to play with the adjustable suspension on the DBS? If they had it in Sport + mode, some results would have been different
If I wanted a performance car that I can also track, I'd say 812. If I wanted a car with performance that my wife and I could go travelling with, Superleggera all day. The Ferrari is a car you enjoy talking about. The Aston is a car you enjoy looking at...
Surely the rear seats should also count for storage as realistically you arent going to sit people there, more just extra luggage
I dont know what are they thinking here. If ferrari made a one seater with a huge boot fifth gear would give it the most practical car of 2020 award.
Look up 812 superfast novitec exhaust POV on YT, best sounding v12 roadcar you'll ever hear
F12 N Lago sounds better imo.
In my opinion it’s too a screamy. Much prefer the song of a Lamborghini V12
His face, when he said can we swap... Gold
Who buys a car and floors it from zero every time ....nobody . Who overtakes on a motorway and needs to do 60-90 quickly...quite a few . 0.60 times are pointless for real road driving.
i'll do it in every traffict light if i get in the front.
Yeah everyone knows this.
@Ahmed Tupajic yes your stating the obvious. But I'm just sick of the whole 0-60 bullshit as a measure of acceleration. Mid range is where it's at. Which is why saabs were so good .
@Amarjit Singh and when did saab go bust ? 1956?? No recently. How old are you? 12
@@stigsstupidcousin3102 I do it when I’m not even at the front....
Sublime machines. It's crazy how these cars won't likely see anything close to their performance potential.
Seriously, the max HP anyone could use out on the road is around 400~450 before getting crashed. So numbers when it comes to sports cars really mean nothing above 150KM/H, it's really how many cylinders and which aspiration it has (still people drool only on numbers, and the new 4-cylinder 2-ton C63 AMG will sell like hotcakes).
First test they pick the sportiest car, the fezza is not a GT it’s a sports car
5:35 🤭 Aston Martin wasn’t penetrating her ears and her soul, lol 😝
Both cars are beautiful but I’ma have to go with the Aston. I just wished it didn’t have the two rear seats.
Brilliant narrative and a beautiful review- and I say this as a V12 Lambo owner!
motors for seat movements add a ton of weight. I wouldn't let anyone else drive mine anyway so no need to move the seat after the first time!
Love the curvaceous curves and beautiful rear end Vicki is gorgeous as is the winner 🏆 Ferrari
The brakes in the Aston Martin are Ceramic and these kind of brakes tend to make these kind of noise we were seeing in the video.
And if I would have the money...
Bentley Continental GT
Love you guys chemistry & interaction it's so natural! Vicki one of my favorite drivers especially love the Lotus Carlton edition review! Yea my fascination goes back that far! Cheers from America 🥰 🇺🇲
Wellington would have never have thought Plato wears knickers........🤣😂😅
Vicki is just the best!
Naturally Aspirated not Normally Aspirated
"I need the basket" why thats me lol
As others point out, the AM does what it is supposed to do. It is classified for what it IS (most GTs are not GTs at all IMO). And frankly I really dislike the Ferrari's looks. I would rather tour the countryside or eat up the miles across a continent in the DBS; and I would love looking back at it whenever I stop and get out. I can not say the same for the Superfast. So.... you can have the Ferrari.... want my address to ship me the DBS? ;) Cheers.
can someone explain what is that channeled tunnel ?
Damn Vicky looks better now than when she was young
Thiccer for sure
She aged well, like fine wine
this is a makeup bro😂👌
Like any of the old duffers that can afford these are ever going to drive them to the limit! I live in Carmel CA. and see both of these almost everyday and everyone of the drivers is over 70+.
If they only knew how intensive and complex it is to make carbon parts with perfect symmetry that lines up with other carbon parts, the sanding and the polishing not to shave off carbon weaves, AND quality control? You need employees to really LOVE doing carbon work because it is NOT easy and not as fun as you think because you can EASILY mess up a whole carbon piece if like an eighth of an inch of weave is moved or twisted, the whole piece is scrapped. So carbon becomes more of an art showcase. Its a lot of work!
Great idea to get the crowd involved
The French accent is funny 😅🤣
The pronunciation of R in the au revoir was spot on though
Easy Ferrari win 👍 however, I'd find myself buying a 550 or a 575 HGTC instead. I think it's the best of the old with the best of the new. For whatever reason, the 812 just doesn't quite do it for me, despite that sizzling top end.
Look at the ferrari 812 with the paint called grigio ingrid. It's heart stopping
Why would they not include the back seats in the Aston Martin for carrying space? Every car I've every had I use the back seats to put stuff on.
Vicky getting the Aston sideways when they swopped Classic!
I rewatched that several times. It was subtle, but I caught it.
You should have also added the 2021 PORSCHE Turbo S to this head to head. Porsche's GT car. 0 to 70 on 2.7s
I'd say the aston better suits the role of a gt car. I wouldn't want to travel 500+ km in the ferrari.
Am I the only one who thinks the Ferrari looks so much cooler than the Aston?
A minority would agree with you. Most people I ask drool over an Aston's looks.
I'll choose an Aston Martin over (almost) any Fezzas unless... it's a SF90, being the only Ferrari I actually love.
What about Laferrari or 488 pista
4:37 £2,400 for that?! My goodness! 🤯🤯
Aston, great for towing a caravan. Cheers for the vid. Torquearama!
Bloody hell that is such an beautiful color for an DBS Superleggera.
Awesome Aston Martin 🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
gawd, if I could afford either car, the DBS is just too good looking to pass up. If I bought the Ferrari, I would be always comparing it to its better looking sister...lol
The Aston isn't Ferrari's sister...not at all.
The Aston is better looking, but your answer is telling. You're more concerned with how other people see your car, or you staring at your car in a superficial manner; I'm more concerned with experiencing the better driving machine - better sound, handling, performance.
@@Snakebloke as if the aston isn't more comfortable and luxurious
But then you notice the interior and you realise you have to go with the Ferrari.
If AM could update the DBS Superleggera interior and make it like the DBX interior, then that would be the one to go for.
@@Snakebloke No, it's his opinion on the car. He's allowed to prefer the looks of one more than the other. If he values looks more than sound, that's his choice. 🤦♂️
@@samharper5881 Both DBX and DBS interiors are hideous but I bet they're a damn sight more comfortable to be in than the 812.
If you like comfort and prestige you'll prefear a Dbs, but if you like adreanaline and speed you need an 812.
I used to be the biggest 812 fanboy however I think the ASTON is just classy and real gentleman's car. The 812 sound (add a Novitec) equals F1 sound !
11:31 when you tell your girlfriend you're about to come
I only have enough money for one, I'm not super rich but I can finally afford one or the other. Such a huge, life changing choice. I don't wanna choose based on brand, but by which will be the better car in the years to come.
If it helps, I know someone was able to drive both for a year. He said the Aston Martin was hands down the absolute winner in the most important performance parameter of all, the 0 to Panty-Drop time... ! However, the Ferrari will hold its value much better.
@@maxjohnson1758 You're saying the average chick knows the difference and will pick an Aston Martin owner over a Ferrari owner to sleep with? Come on! Both cars signify you're rich. That's what matters. If two guys are equally rich to buy one of these each, the girl s gonna choose the more charming and good looking one.
DBS: Exterior beautiful, everyone says that and agreed. Interior? Catastrophe.
Spot on. The Ferrari seems to sound the same 3k to 6k rpm. The Aston has better gradation
I would choose the Aston Martin
Ferrari 812 easy!!
DBS and its not close
Does anyone has seen a shot of the interiors of those cars ??
Ferarri really knows how to rip the cash out of the cold dead-ish hands of the 0.1%. Good on them.
If you're the kind of person who can afford, you probably don't need to choose. Just buy both.
Anyone notice that launch control was engaged in the 812 but Not the DBS? Pretty biased if you ask me
Aston doesn’t have launch control
Aston should let you turn off all the driver "assist" gizmos that get in the way of a proper launch.
Great video! Could we get some more rear shots. Not even sure if you showed the rear of the aston. Also clearly you both were way more into the 812 haha
The dbs winning the sound test officially confirms the french know nothing! The late great Enzo would turn in his grave
Enzo wasn't French moron, he was Italian.
ғɪʟʟ 1ɴ ᴛ҉ ʜ3 ʙʟᴀɴᴋs no shit! what made you think I thought he was french? I’ve been to Enzos grave in Modena, I’ve been to the Enzo museum where his childhood home now hosts the most impressive engine room, I’ve been to the ferrari museum in Maranello and toured the factory and fiarano test circuit right outside Enzos house, driven an f430, 458 italia, 458 spider, 488 gtb, 360 Modena and a v12 gtc4 lusso in Italy. Oh and been to the finali mondiali ferrari event at mugello race circuit to witness all f1 cars and the xx program in the pits.......just saying. MORON!

I think the Aston looks better, it's torquey powertrain is more usable in day to day driving, it's interior is nicer and more comfortable....
And yet, I would choose the Ferrari any day.
That Enzo derrived V12 is just magnificent, so musical and beautiful. I had the privilege of riding in one (and cruising on the highway next to one), and anything with that engine, that freely revs to almost 9000, and sounds like a heavenly (or hellish) trumpet.... that's the one to choose
@06:32 you can see finger prints on the bonnet of the Ferrari.... someone should’ve been scalded for that!
A deep voice is synonymous with virility, people think that for an engine it's the same ...
But I don't see anyone testing the AMR of any Aston model. Plus Aston Martin's street cars are not there race cars. To classy for that.
That DBS looks so much better than the 812, the back of the 812 looks like a poorly made stagecoach.
🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂
Ferrari is another level both of looks and speed. Aston is just another Aston. Ferrari made it look obsolet or a bit like US muscle car.
That sound the Aston makes braking...
Ceramic brakes it has to warm up first, which takes time, the hotter the quicker it warms up, better for track for street use get the Steele breaks.
I'm not a fan of Ferrari but the only Ferrari that got my attention is the Ferrari Roma as I prefer that kind of look , and this DBS is awesome and sexy looking it's a gentle man's car, that's what Aston Martin is all about, Class!
The manual seats are about weight. Not cost.
I would take the Aston over the Ferrari. All day everyday. The French are real petrol heads. The Ferrari just looks like any other Ferrari the Aston looks like True English understated class.
@footballcoreano haha yeah sure, look at the new Ferrari Roma and tell me who is the copy cat 🤣
The best cars that's make you can't choice between of them 🤑🤑🤑
Can you imagine that Aston TwinTurbo give it a stage one tune one animal Gentlemans express with a tune perfect 😬👍Although not essential
If the Aston sounded like the 812, it would be the perfect car. Oh, and if it held its value, that would help too.
Great video but wrong conclusion. If you put luggage on the back seats the aston has.....it has waaaaaaay more space and is so much more practical. If you want the added performance beyond what the aston offers then you would choose a different Ferrari anyway that's pure sports car. As a GT.... aston dbs is unbeatable
I choose the 94 Celica
hi scotty
Awesome amazing fantastic superb marvelous magic I love it very nice 👍
The DBS is the probably the perfect car for a cross-country road trip... The Ferrari is too hard core to be a GT... The GTC 4 Lusso is the their true GT
End Ferrari roma
And now we know that french people know nothing about cars ahahaha
or that sound is entirely subjective
@@rdmz135 It is not. The Aston has an artificial sound, the Ferrari rocks a natural aspirated v12.

There is no comparison! Ferrari all day

Ferrari gave them a car without electric seats? Spend the extra $5,000!
Ahmed Tupajic There’s very little standard that you get with super cars . It’s not unusual to gain $30,000 to $50,000 in add one to get a nicely optioned car. If you want one totally loaded, it can reach over $100,000 on top of the base price.
While I personally like the Ferrari better than the Aston Martin, I thought that the Aston Martin would be the better GT as to me the Brits always seemed to be better than the Italians at building a more comfortable long distance Grand Tourer. It looks like I am wrong in this instance....
I'd take the Aston over the Ferrari for one reason... Paint options...
So testing a 4 seater against a 2 seater? Two completely different customers, a proper GT car should cover long distances in comfort and style arriving at the destination fresh as a daisy, therefore the Aston Martin wins hands down.
The Ferrari is definitely the better supercar; the superior performance and excitement are undeniable. This is especially true if you've still got a soft shot for the dying breed that is front engined supercars.
However, considering that the point of a GT is to effortlessly cover enormous distances, the extra comfort (not to mention extra seats) provided by the Aston Martin arguably make it the better Grand Tourer. I also happen to agree with the French regarding it's looks and sound.
The Ferrari has more room for luggage though, something you are definitely going to need on a long road trip
@@andrewparker318 True, but considering the smoother and quieter ride of the Aston (and extra seats if desired), I don't think the luggage space difference is enough to make the Ferrari the better GT.
