How I love your videos. I love them on a Sunday better than a news paper nothing depressing!! I'm a 67 year old widow and I need to tell you that your voice is so soothing and has helped me with anxiety and depression. Spending a lot of time in charity shops as I have lost 5 stones. I take a pile of clothes that are too big and get ones that fit. Win Win. Don't have a cat but do have a 12 month sorocker spaniel. Loony tunes but so much fun. Keep up your videos. Jen x😊😊

Hi Mr C, I am so happy you are keeping the Sunday vlogs coming! I love them being part of my Sunday morning routine (currently crochet, coffee and Mr C). Regarding bulk buys.. I have a small apartment, not much room - so I keep to the "two is one" rule - I do an inventory once a month and always have one extra of everyday toiletries, cleaning and kitchen items that I keep in a cupboard I call "The Shop". It keeps me stocked up I never run out and means I don't over purchase. Once you get into the routine it's easy and stress free... hope this helps someone! X❤

Your "lazy susan" bedside tray is a great idea. A suggestion. There is a type of gummy product used by museums to secure statues and other pieces from falling. When living in San Francisco USA one such product was called shake proof, so you could secure vases, decorations and other breakables against earthquakes. A small piece under each gold leg could secure the entire piece from casual knockdowns by Pumpkin. Won't discolor furniture nor adhere to the item. Give it a try.

I’m guessing Hermes for handbag because of the handle and clasp but I could be very wrong 😂. Those fairy lights take me right back to my childhood. They seemed so much prettier back in the day. When my Gran died we found a set from 60+ years ago and they still worked. My mum remembered them from living at home. Can’t wait to see what else you’ve picked up. I totally admire how you’ve done your home and your vision to change up what you already have.

I've learned a lot of vocabulary and sayings with you and I love your accent, its very easy to understand. Today's "bend your ear" I didn't know, had to look it up.
When choosing flooring, take in mind your cats colour, so you can't see much cat hair on the floor. I prefer the darker ones of your samples, but of course you have to combine with your furniture, so the one you are thinking of will sure look lovely in your home. Can't wait to see the makeover.
I don't know if anyone has made any comment on this, but I love the music that you put while showing things without commenting, specially at the car boot sales, its just the perfect music.

I rarely comment on your videos, although I enjoy them very much. I have to say, I love your shopping/saving strategy. It's very similar to mine. A few cents and dollars increase on each product adds up over time. Shopping differently for everyday essentials is an Art form. I feel as if you (and I) have finely honed this skill😊.

I love how different the kittens personalities are. They are getting so big. The bakery stuff looks amazing we have a lovely bakery near us which opens wed-sat and has a line out if the door most mornings.

Love spending Sunday morning with you Mr C. Listening to your relaxing dulcet tones and watching the kittens. Have been enjoying your travel blogs too bringing light to these somewhat dark cold winter days. I put new floors in 18 months ago as i also have cats who loved scratching up my carpets. Little darlings 🤣. I chose vinyl waterproof boards which are amazing and look so realistic they are also warm underfoot and non slip on the stairs. They make for easy clean up when my furry cat decides to cough up fur balls lol. I agree with you around food shopping, i have def changed the way i shop in last two years, no big shops now but i do get deliveries for cat food, cat litter and any heavy items i need to stock up on. My shopping was getting out of hand, i am on my own and really dont have room for the storage and anyway if its not in front of me i forget i have bought it. I am doing more crafty stuff, taken up machine embroidery and started sewing again. I have a dedicated space, my garden cabin, which makes me feel i have escaped the house for a couple of hrs. I love your tips and ideas for changjng things up but as i am now older i do less diy than i used to but love watching how you transform your space. You are def a blessing along with catherine (Dainty) and luke. I also love (jonna jinton) from sweden and paola (the cottage fairy)from states who have a similar thoughtful positive vibe to you. I think of you as family so kerp on doing what you are doing. Stay blessed ❤

My cat often places itself in camera view on team meetings and training sessions I do at my dining room table. As soon as she hears me talking to others online it's like a switch in her brain, right, now I make my appearance! They know how to make themselves known do cats. When your cats miaow on the vlogs I often wonder if it's my cat Lola miaowing. Your cats are gorgeous I love tabby cats, and all cats.

Hi Mr C! I've been up since silly o'clock this morning and it's about time for a sit down with a nice cup of tea and assorted pastries. Nothing like seeing the sunshine during the last dregs of the weekend and watching your vlogs are always great to pass an hour (well almost) in the warm. Have you considered placing a rolling island below the found hutch you installed. It could rolled out when needed and tucked away when not in use. This way the tall cabinet idea in the corner could be installed, providing all that extra storage. IKEA has a pull out waste storage system that can go in cabinet. Just a thought.
Yes I am doing a rearrange of the kitchen loads of cupboards full of stuff that I don't open or use so clear out and more workspace!
Yes watching you snuggled in bed with two of my dogs. My mother was a savvy shopper so I learnt from an early age to shop around, inturn my daughters learnt from me and one is even more savvy than me. When my son met his wife she too was savvy so I feel pleased that my children know the value of money. I still like going shopping in shops probably my age 😂. Excellent vlog Iwan
We put laminate throughout our house and it truly elevated the feel of our home. It was NOT the inexpensive choice but we knew we didn't want the upkeep on wood. Our flooring has helped insulate the foundation and retain heat in the winter. We went with a very dark coffee color and everyone who comes to our house seems to really like it and comment about them. Having one color and texture throughout the house makes our house look quite large. Good luck with your flooring whatever you choose.
I replaced the carpet on my first floor with laminate. Yes, expensive but gosh, I love it. I have parquet and it’s gorgeous.
“Little Duck” three ply, each holds eighteen rolls, we buy five packs for £20.00 at “Farm Foods” store. Yes they bumping up prices big time now, I will not buy items that they have ramped up prices on. If I find a bargain I will buy in bulk and I have a pantry and a larder. Dried goods and tinned goods are great to have. But not dojos! Have you seen how much tinned dojos now are?! Daylight robbery comes to mind! Now making my own in bulk! Fresh Veggies if on offer I buy in bulk, prep, bag and freeze. We have two allotment that provide much veg and fruit in their seasons too. Thrifty and Frugal is the way to go.

Pumpkin antics made me laugh. My cat wakes me up by getting on top of me and falling asleep. I wake up in pain. I'm pretty sure she thinks that's hilarious. Also, despite me telling her she isn't in my will, she darts in front of me on the stairs which I'm sure will eventually cause my downfall. Love the new Tommy Jeans top.

I had go get rid of my car last year, and I use online food delivery. It’s so much easier.
You also get the choice of buying a yearly delivery pass that saves on delivery charge. But if I see any yellow labels while I’m out and about I definitely pick them up and stock up the freezer ❤

Love your videos , I think your idea about the flooring is a great job , your home will look so much bigger . I agree with your choice of wooden floor it’s the one I would choose ,it will be so easy kept and with the little knot through it , never get a perfectly plain one as it doesn’t,t look right it takes the knot in it to make it more real looking . Don,t take your good quality kitchen out as they don,t make them as good nowadays , a new worktop and change of tiles would look really well , a nice wooden look worktop is beautiful with sage green units and plain wall tiles . I think nice deep skirting boards would be nice in your rooms with the wooden floors ,I would paint the skirting boards white. All the best with your plans

Here things are more and more expensive. Food and cleaning stuff, apart from looking for the cheapest place, we've found that doing shopping once a week and not popping in every time you need something and making do with what you have you save money. Looking online for certain things too or looking for things that may substitute others.
By the way if you don't want to be peeling labels off deliveries get a little spray bottle put some alcohol in it, normally spraying it once or twice babe and address dissapear. It does depend what type of label it is.

Looked at where I make most impulse buys - crafting, made a list of projects I must finish before any more purchases.
I’m a little old school and I’ve been making big stews in the slow cooker. I freeze a lot as well and I do the same with homemade cottage pie. Doing this definitely saves money. I think the bag is a Chanel 👜🌼🌺🌸

We did our hall in laminate a couple of years ago we were very impressed like you it had been years since we had used it it is much more realistic these days. I agree with the lighter colour we did the family room in a light oak and the dining room in a darker one although the darker one is beautiful I wish now I had used a lighter one as it really darkens the room.
Hey Mr. C! My Lily is like your Mittens. She doesn't like being held, but she'll curl up and sleep on my lap for ages. My legs get tired after a while. I am moving on Feb. 12th!! Regarding spending habits, I have pared mine down quite a bit. I have given away a lot of decor, pictures and some furniture to a neighbor on my floor. I like the Smoked Oak for your new flooring. We have mountain oak laminate flooring from carpet right in the hallway and living room and i highly recommend, its slightly warm but not too dark. Looks gorgeous.
Really liked this video, it's good to hear about your plans for your house. I always write each room in a notebook and go round deciding what I want to change, colours and paints etc. Like you I only use the top of my cooker as I have a halogen and an air fryer. I don't have pets but love seeing Pumpkin and Mittens, especially when Pumpkin takes over the boxes xx

Im always looking for cost effective replacements, prices are crazy here in Australia. The hairspray you were talking about, the 300ml is $17 here, the 100ml is around $8, so crazy!!!

Great Vlog as always. On your floor choices, do pay attention to the thickness of the flooring. Especially if you are doing laminate flooring because the thinner ones do feel flimsy and sometimes sound like plastic when you walk on them. You may have to choose based on what will work with your existing floors, doors, walls and other things, but go thicker if you can.
I have exactly the same lazy Susan (poor Susan being called lazy) in cream from TEMU - 11.02" in diameter (so the large size) - £3.57 or £7.17 in green... Prices are variable but within 90 days if they change in price, they refund you the difference - it may reduce more than once so I think each time it reduces, they will refund you - you get it in seconds if you take it back as credit.
Loving the flooring choices. We have a realistic laminate but gaps have appeared. A cpl dogs 'accidents' (tends to happen when we're out), have cause some swelling (as well as the cleaning process of lots of Dettol 😮) so we need to change our flooring too. It's been down many years though and other than those accidents - there are zero other signs of wear and tear so its been a brilliantly hard wearing choice. My husband fitted it too so it basically owes us nothing. Need to redo conservatory and get rid of the natural Welsh slate in the kitchen as it is miserable to take care of and is so dark in a north east facing kitchen. We have the same plans for kitchen - painting doors, new worktop, sink, hob (although not vital as no issues with it) and the tiles too... so much money thpugh. However, we LOVE our house and neighbours so don't want to have to move! So good luck on your renovations and updates. Will keep watching with intrigue as to how you get on! I bet you definitely beat us to it!

Really enjoyed todays Vloggy Vlog, thank you. Naughty Pumpkin and trying to push that lazy Susan on the floor! We used to shut our cat downstairs, he had the the whole bottom of the house to use. We had to do this as he used to wake me (not my husband, it was always me!) around 3.30am funny enough too! However I used to find my glasses on the floor and anything else on my side table by the settee! Smoked Oak looked nice, I prefered the darker Harvest one personally but think you may be right about the furniture clashing so the lighter one better. Kitchen re-fresh sounds cool, look forward to that. Shopping prices, yes bulk buys, discount vouchers can usually be found online for various items and loo rolls became a pet subject of mine years ago, some really silly prices out there, and some good bargains too if you keep your eye out. Hi there, I always buy loo roll, washing liquid and kitty litter on sale then it’s done for potentially months plus stain remover, they are half price when on sale so why wouldn’t you, your always going to use them and half price is a lot especially vanish stain remover, it’s about $33 Australian so I always check. Same with shampoo etc you just have to be on it and once it’s done your ok for ages. Love your cats, they look so alike but so different in personality’s, I have a cat and she definitely is a princess and I am her servant.

your choice of flooring is the IT flooring in America for the last few years 😍 dropping back in to say YES, definitely changed the way I shopped in the last year. shopping at Walmart now I hadn’t in 15 years, but alot of their food is half what the chain grocery stores are right now… and always stocking up on sale when you get a store gift card with purchase.

I can not believe I was up 30 minutes after this loaded...Best cat toy ever! Which wasn't what you had in mind for the lazy Susan but still. You can attempt to put non skid pads underneath but once he figures out it spins all games are off. Of course, you now have a new idea about what to add to the toy list...Re new kitchen bench top, keep the cut outs for the sink and stovetop as they make great cutting boards. I like the flooring color you finally chose. I had thought the darker would be better but agree w/you about competing colors and I think it would show dirt and claw marks more easily. Loved this vlog and really enjoy visiting with you guys on Sunday mornings just maybe not at 3 in the morning. LOL!
I love my Sunday catch up with you Iwan, so I'm glad it's staying. I get a triple treat, as I see you, Luke and Catherine. Well, where to start? I have also put new floor down recently. We have had an extention done and I have done all of upstairs in the same carpet and we have had tiles downstairs in the hall and through our open plan kitchen. Our laminate that we have put down in the new living room is similar to what you have chosen. A tip we used was to open a few packs and pile up similar planks, so when they go down you can spread them apart so you don't get the same pattern next to each other. Looks a more realistic wood. That's if you are not using real wood of course. We had the wood veneer. Don't forget to factor in the height of your threshold in the door ways as you may have to do what we did and change them for deeper ones, which then also impacts on your doors needing adjusting!🙄 Where we have different floring we have tried to match colours and that gives the illusion of space. As for the kitchen, you could put in one of those fold down tables on the wall under the window? I think they do them in IKEA. I would have said you could have put more worktop across, but that may look odd across your window. For sometime now we have only bought what we need food wise and not big bags of veg etc and we have had so much less waste and it has been a lot cheaper. You could put those rubber stickers on the bottom of you new rotating bowl perhaps? I buy lose fruit and veg as I live on my own. If I do buy in bags I take what I need and give the rest to a local food pantry rather than waste it. Lovely Vlog.
I think a nice light oak worktop might be nice tie in with the flooring ❤ love the boots what a bargain !

Laminate flooring has come a long way indeed. I laid some during covid time and didn’t regretted it, but I learnt a few things.
I learnt that it’s good to invest on a good underlay for the specific areas. I got the one insulated just because I wanted more warmth, and my floor is on the thicker side too.
The flooring that I bought has a tiny gap on the floor planks when installed which helps to disguise any future damage by water, as the floor itself it’s not butted to each other. ( this was amazing to me! And I love it! I have a kitty too and cleaning it gave me no worries about moping or steaming!)
Kitchen wise- also did a mini refresh covid times, and I learnt one important thing….. never ever ever get a worktop that has a separate edge!!!! Mine is from ikea 😭.
Making sure that there’s a worktop that is laminated all in a continuous lamination will save you a huge headache.
Mine already has water damage as the one I chose has an edge that has been glued on….. unfortunately 🫤
Three years on… I’m looking at replacing it again 😅.

It’s a company that sells paint products, they will colour paints to Farrow and Ball colours, they can colour also your primer at your specifications and they have excellent products to use on kitchen cabinets, from high shine, mat, semi, whatever you fancy. Customer service was excellent!
I actually had to call for advice and they were super helpful on what I needed to paint my kitchen cabinets with. And try the Purdy parrot- mirror finish rollers. I used the mini ones….. Excellent for painting furniture and cabinets leaving a smooth finish. Made with woven mohair, very soft.
And yes I agree that older kitchens were made to last. 😂
I had the same dilema as you, mine was dated and we changed it….. wish we didn’t just because the old one was of great quality and would have lasted even longer.
