We live in the Midlands but my son went to Durham University so we visited many times over the 3 years he was there and it is such a beautiful city. His Graduation ceremony was in Durham Cathedral which was such an emotional experience. He loved his time there and now also lives and works in London. Xx
I was born in Durham and like you lived in a mining village, moving when I was married. I worked in Durham too , but before you were born. Have always loved this city and although I used to visit regularly, I haven't been in a few years so it was lovely to see it and its still beautiful.

I’m From County Durham, and live in Hamsterley ( Upper Teesdale ) a beautiful farming village on the edge of Hamsterley Forest.. I think Durham Cathedral is THE most beautiful Cathedral bar none. I have spent MANY hours in there as I’m a Mediaeval history buff and it’s atmosphere is amazing.. 😊♥️

I loved watching your visit to Durham. I’m from Chester le street but now live in Scotland and recently took two friends for an overnight stay in Durham and I was was enthusiastic to show them around. We were there on the 21st and 22nd and did visit the cathedral (it’s a must when in Durham ), Gabriel had been performing on the 20th in the cathedral so we missed a treat there. If you ever get to see a singer perform in the cathedral it’s a must. We also visited beamish open air museum and visited the new 1950s village, it was fantastic. A vlog from beamish would be great. Lovely to see Durham. Last time I went I was accompanying my son who needed a new passport in a hurry and that’s where our nearest passport office is. It’s a lovely place to spend a day.

Great vlog Luke. Lovely to see your home town. Very ignorant of me as a Yorkshire lass I thought anyone from the north east was classed as a Geordie. So only people from Newcastle! Who knew! If you think that pub is small you should see the one in Bury St Edmunds. Teeny weeny. I personally love having a coffee machine. I know cafeterias make great coffee as I have one, but I also have a very lovely KitchenAid machine. It just depends on how much time you’ve. It’s all about the experience 👍🥰

Hi Luke, I sorta remember another visit you had to Durham and was surprised that I've been following you that long! But I've seen you try out a lot of different coffee makers along the way! FYI another London CZcamsr asked for recommendations on them and I suggested that he reach out to you. Our choices in the US are generally different so I didn't think my opinion would be valuable. I've generally had pretty good experiences with those inexpensive solar lights. Because we have a lot of trees, sometimes they get some sap accumulation that can interfere with charging. Sorry for the lengthy comment, but have you had onion marmalade? Zara's pasta kinda reminded me of it and I think you'd both enjoy it. Much love to you both, L

Hi luke. Wished I'd asked you for a hotel recommendation in Durham. We stayed overnight driving from Dundee. Stayed redworth hall hotel but would have preferred the centre. Looks fabulous!
I really loved seeing Durham from your perspective - all I really knew about it was that it has a great University so it was lovely to see the town. 🌞 The reasons you gave for getting a Nespresso coffee machine suitable for standard-sized pods are the exact reasons I refuse to get a Virtuoso Coffee machine! 😅 Also, you get so many more choices of coffee as everywhere that sells coffee pods only do them in the standard size and I practically live off Cafe Nero's coffee 👌Thanks for the vlog Luke!

I am here in London and was in Bath last week visiting from Canada for almost 2 weeks and let me say summer showed up for my visit ! It has been glorious weather.

The hotel indigo was originally the headquarters of Durham County Council (Old Shire Hall) built in 1898. It’s a shame you didn’t mention that the Shakespeare pub in Sadler Street is famous for being Durham’s most haunted pub 👻👻

I sorta remember another visit you had to Durham and was surprised that I've been following you that long! But I've seen you try out a lot of different coffee makers along the way! FYI another London CZcamsr asked for recommendations on them and I suggested that he reach out to you. Our choices in the US are generally different so I didn't think my opinion would be valuable.
I've generally had pretty good experiences with those inexpensive solar lights. Because we have a lot of trees, sometimes they get some sap accumulation that can interfere with charging.

Hi luke. Wished I'd asked you for a hotel recommendation in Durham. We stayed overnight driving from Dundee. Stayed redworth hall hotel but would have preferred the centre. Looks fabulous!

The reasons you gave for getting a Nespresso coffee machine suitable for standard-sized pods are the exact reasons I refuse to get a Virtuoso Coffee machine! 😅 Also, you get so many more choices of coffee as everywhere that sells coffee pods only do them in the standard size and I practically live off Cafe Nero's coffee 👌Thanks for the vlog Luke!
