      Thank you Sharon! The Tucson has always in my opinion been overlooked when it comes to tech features and this year Hyundai really stepped up its game with all of the new features in the 2019 Tucson. I think the new iPhone Xs helped out with the "roller coaster" affect haha but thank you so much and i appreciate the feedback! Call me at Vernon Hyundai if you'd like to inquire further about the Tucson or if you'd like to take one out overnight.

    Real Canadian Car Reviews : compared to the non facelifted version of the Tucson (2015-2018) it slightly upgraded visually on all fronts except in the interior part of the central console where the Tablet like center screen is looking very cheap like with all the other manufacturers that do this. The 2015-2018 version had the infotainment system integrated into the dashboard which looks and feels much more premium and doesn't disturb the vision on the road through the whole front glass.

    Great comprehensive review Jesse!...I'm American & just purchased a US-spec 2019 Tucson Ultimate FWD for about $4,000 dollars cheaper than this Canadian spec vehicle. Not really sure why the disparity in price, but it must have something to do with the US to Canadian dollar exchange rate! I just took delivery of a 2019 Tucson Ultimate. This replaced a 2016 Tucson Limited with the Ultimate Package. I'm in Hawaii. I have to say I like the 2019 drive train much better. Never liked the DCT, although the gas mileage was definitely better. For me, this is an acceptable sacrifice for the much smoother and more predictable power train. I also love the new 18" wheel design. Additionally, the slightly smaller wheels make for a smoother ride. My only complaint is with the video quality of the cameras-particularly the back up camera in low light situations. But otherwise it is a better-and better looking- vehicle in most every way than the model it replaces IMO.

    • @POVCarReviews
      @POVCarReviews  Před 5 lety

      I agree with you on that one Guy. Having a more stable and predictable drive train powering the Tucson this year is a nice change from the DCT. I think if they could get the DCT to act without hesitation, then it would have been an amazing set up. The 2.4L is no slough by any means and should provide people with more then enough power in the Tucson. I haven't really tried the back up camera in a low light situation but if it seems really dark, try wiping the license plate lights as they provide most of the light for when reversing at night. I have found this helps me out in mine when it seems too dark out. Thanks for the comment Guy and hope you enjoy your 2019 Tucson Ultimate for years to come!

    Way over in Ontario. Purchased the 2019 Tucson Ultimate Gemstone Red with the beige/black interior. For the Bluelink remote car start, the car doors MUST be locked or it will not start. Very peppy with the 2.4L and very sure footed in snow/ice conditions. Lots of legroom front and back (I stand 6' 3" and my daughters friend stand 6' 5" and we each were comfortable for a long drive. If I had any wish list to add...memory seat settings, tire pressure monitoring (not available for the 19" as far as I can tell) and the ability to turn on the heated/cooled seats on remote start...otherwise, extremely happy.

    • @POVCarReviews
      @POVCarReviews  Před 5 lety

      Thanks for the comment Tim! I agree with you on the extras that would make it a bit better ( memory seats, TPMS, etc) but you CAN put the heated or cooled seats on with Bluelink! I don't think your salesmen showed you that obviously but it is in the custom set up for your remote start. You can adjust the idle length of time, if the front or rear defrost is on or not and which heated or cooled seat is on or not as well. If you have any questions look me up at Vernon Hyundai in BC and shoot me an email or call me and i can walk you through it and make sure you know this feature as it is one of the best features with BlueLink in my opinion.

    Tucson is looking good for 2019! I have a 17. Very well built. Only 1 problem so far, the blind spot monitor went out. I have the 1.6 DCT drivetrain. I'm not a fan of the DCT transmission but the gas mileage of the 2.4 engine is not very good. I was not a fan of the previous Caribbean Blue but the new blue color looks nice. I have the Ruby Wine, love it!

    • @POVCarReviews
      @POVCarReviews  Před 5 lety

      Thanks for the comment Bruce! I agree, the 2017 Tucson 1.6T DCT is a great vehicle but some people have come to me with concerns over the DCT and how it reacts, drives, etc. The gas mileage is better on the DCT in your 2017 but all of the bugs have been worked out and the 2.4L engine set up goes really quick and without any minor hesitation like in the 2017 DCT models. Also, the Ruby Wine is a great color and wish they had kept it for 2019 as well.

    • @bml33
      @bml33 Před 5 lety

      @@POVCarReviews I read somewhere that the 1.6 DCT setup is better on the Elantra because it has more power and the shifting is tuned differently....the Tucson was tuned to be ultra efficient. This engine does put out more power on the Elantra too. But someone said the power limitation on Tucson is due to the turbo unit being smaller, as they didn't have as much space to put a bigger intercooler.

    • @POVCarReviews
      @POVCarReviews  Před 5 lety

      Yes, the Elantra Sport with the same 7 Speed DCT and the 1.6L Turbo engine puts out 201 HP and is tweaked differently for sure. As for not having room for the bigger inter cooler and turbo i am not 100% sure but something doesn't add up for me as there is more room in the larger engine bay of the Tucson then the Elantra Sport. I think they just wanted to obtain some really good fuel economy numbers on the larger Tucson so they made it not as powerful as when you buy a car in a sports model, you want good power and drive-ability. That's a great question however and i feel that to stay competitive in the small SUV market, the Tucson needed less power to get better fuel economy.

    2) The second row does it slide forward and back?
    3) is the second row flat or is there a bump in the middle?

      2) no, the seats do not slide forward or back
      3) the second row goes 99% flat, very minor and little incline into the rear seats from rear cargo area ( almost true flat)
      4) only through the app which is in fact built in ( not off the key fob but your cellphone so you'll need a smartphone for the remote start to work)
      5) it does not have wireless charging in the 2019 Tucson ( all trim levels ) for some reason they didn't add this function for this year

    • @POVCarReviews
      @POVCarReviews  Před 5 lety +1

      Actually i sell quite a few Ultimate models in every model we have here. For my general location, the top trims seem to be the best seller right after the mid level preferred trim. The reason why i chose the Ultimate to showcase was that with the redesign, i wanted to show people what some of the new tech features are available for 2019. I cannot do this is a base model unfortunately. I mean $30,000 is already lots of money so for an extra $9000 you get everything. That is how i buy cars anyways, go full load or stick with a used model or a cheap private sale. But again, that's just my opinion.

      Thanks for the comment and for being civil with me haha. I agree, we do sell more entry level models but for CZcams and to gain more views, people generally want to see what we can do in a vehicle and that is always the Ultimate trim level to showcase the new tech and safety features. Most people can get away with a preferred or a luxury trim level but i do prefer the top end models myself. Once you go fully loaded it is really hard to take features away and go with a lesser trim in the next vehicle so i think i have cursed myself now lol Glad you like to cargo area in the Tucson and the ergonomics of the seating/driving position. It truly is a great CUV for a small family or someone like myself who has no kids and likes to be up higher then a car.

    • @POVCarReviews
      @POVCarReviews  Před 5 lety +1

      correct. The Ultimate model for 2019 does not have memory seats or TPMS. I actually am very glad they have no TPMS as it can cause false readings by the temp dipping down a bit and then forces a person to pull over and check the tires even though they are fine. I think the tolerance for the sensors to go off is roughly 5% which can be annoying. As for the memory seats, this is something not a lot of people use in my experience and Hyundai added in some upgraded tech & safety features in lieu of the memory seat function i have been told. Consumers talked and they wanted added safety not the memory seats so Hyundai listened. I mean no company will ever please everyone but for the most part, this is something that never comes up in conversation with my clients.

      But do they? It is VERY rarely that the tech features in these vehicles go. People have no worries when buying a new phone or TV and i have never heard someone say " man this iPhone has too many features and it going to break down because of it".... Same goes with vehicles. They are run through rigorous testing to ensure they will not fail you and will provide years of enjoyment for the new owner. Also with a 5 year/100,000km warranty which is BUMPER to BUMPER, if anything does by chance not work properly, then it will be taken care of by the dealer being under warranty. I for one would rather have a vehicle fully loaded so when i go to trade it in or sell it, i get the most money possible for it. Base or entry level vehicles with no tech features depreciate WAY faster then a full load model. I think you'd be very surprised with how well these tech features hold up in vehicles these days and i for one have never seen any issues with anything on the new Tucson yet.

      we do not push anything on a client. they have options to buy after sales products but nothing is pushed on them. With a 5 yr/100,000kms warranty, that usually is enough for most people as a buying cycle is typically 3-5 years. For those who keep their cars for 10+ years however, wouldn't it be nice to be covered for the entire time you won your vehicle? Do you own house or life insurance? The "what if" scenario applies to almost everything in life as if you didn't have home insurance and a fire broke out, you'd be happy you had it. To not take it and say we will never have a fire, you'd be called crazy. So when you invest $40,000 + on a vehicle why would you not want it covered for the unexpected? Vehicles are typically the second biggest purchase of a persons life and to leave it up to chance has always been something i have never understood. NASA and the US Military have mechanics on hand. Those shuttles are worth billions of dollars and need repairs down the road. If its man mad, it has a potential to fail so having some coverage on that purchase will be a great idea if anything actually happened. Each to their own i guess.
