We just bought a 2019 Tucson Value last week after looking at all other similar SUV’s, my wife loved the Tucson the best. I have to say for the price, all the features it comes with is pretty nice. Not to mention that warranty
Good job with this review. I'm so torn. I've driven 5 new different compact SUVs and they're all so good. I think Hyundai/Kia is finally breaking through the "it's nice...for a Hyundai/Kia" stigma.
I have a 2016 Hyundai Tuscon that had had a couple of trouble that so far Hyundai took care of for me. Well this past February, my lest passenger door stop opening, called in cause I saw other cases with the doors gave me a case number and told me to take it in for repairs. Time slip; I didn't worry because i still had the other door till this past weekend. Now they wont cover any door; out of warranty. I have 110,000,000 miles on it. So i need to pay 130.00 for diagnostic for each door, a rental for the week (240.00) and now they say they might need to break the quarter panels to fix the doors. That's seems costly,,,,and all I am told is to give everyone time go figure. So watch how many times you open your car doors; their not in warranty even the 5 years. That's because I drive an hour to and from my work in Houston.
Just turned in my 2017 Elantra, for a 2019 Tucson AWD Value package. I hated my Elantra due to slow performance. I didn't realize the Tucson has the same 2.0L engine. I know it's my fault, but very upset with performance. Went back to dealership today, and they laughed at me. Should have gone for the 2.4L!
I paid out the door (fees and taxes included) $22,200 for a new 2019 Hyundai Tucson Value. If you are considering buying, try going lower than that now that the 2020 model is in the lot.
I know Jack Giambalvo in York, PA has the Ultimate Tucson listed right now for $32,053 so that's not too bad. Try telling them that Gold Pony sent ya and I bet they could knock a good bit more off for ya tho! :-)
How does Hyundai explain how they get that bad of MPG in the 2.4l AWD? I mean it’s worse than way more powerful and larger crossovers, like the Audi Q5.
I would guess b/c it's a N/A engine... Probably a bit better when it comes to reliability but typically a turbocharged engine (like the Q5) will deliver a bit more power with MPG's to match
Incidently, we had a 2.0T Q5 and now have a 2015 2.4 Sonata (same engine as the Tucson). The Q5 was in a completely different league on acceleration and got amazimg mpg in city driving thanks to an impressive 7 speed transmission. The 2.4 Sonata is quite slow, I can't even imagine how slow the Tucson would be with the 2.0, not really adequate. By the way, the Sport mode doesn't change much. One word about the mpg on the 2.4. The computer shows poor mpg in city driving (around 15 with gentle driving) but when we calculated using the gas bills for the past 5000 miles, the actual number was 21mpg. So at least on our car, the trip computer mileage is way off for some reason.
I have a 2019 SANTA FE intimate Turbo my MPG since I got it at 6 miles, which now is 2339, is only 28.9 Santa Fe is BIGGER They underestimate big time after that fiasco with giving everyone gift cards to make up MPG difference. So better to under state than over Ask VW about that as well. It gets GREAT mileage! Plus in Houston Gas is only 169 a Gallon!
I'm glad I got a 2018 Tucson with the Turbo engine... the look, design, engine and dash are all superior in the 2018... I hate what they did to the 2019 refresh, it's pretty much all-bad.
Love the SUV.My only complaint is the deats are the most uncomfortable seats I,ve had in any vehicle I,ve ever owned. My bum goes numb after about 15 mins of riding in it.

I've have a genesis sedan which was my only Hyundai and my wife has had a 2013 santa fe Turbo and a 2018 tucson. They are junk, terrible reliability, unreliable tech and especially the tucson is extremely slow
Just because a journalist or CZcamsr reviews the car for a day or week and say they would buy it doesnt mean they know anything about the reliability etc. Plus they dont want to say anything negative as its dealership or car manufacturer gives them the cars to review. But hey, you're butt hurt hyundai lover, continue buying them then lol

No turbo charged engines is a good thing if you wan to keep it long term.

Just drove both SE and SEL. SE engine is too undersized. The SEL engine feels more normal for this car.

I have just about 6500 miles on my 2019 Sport. I'm getting between 26 and 27 MPG. I drive about 70/30 Highway/City 150 miles a day.
Too many trim levels. but good value for the money. Re-designed dash is great just like in the new Santa-Fe.
