    Actually I'm not surprised. I use third generation as my daily car and results reflect my experience. I drive mine off the beaten track from time to time in moderate terrain and indeed, if at least two wheels have some traction car moves forward, no matter, if it's sand, snow or mud. The only problem is with relatively low ground clearance, on the other hand it shines on solid roads.

    I've got a 2014 CR-V AWD and it's been great in the snow thus far. I've been impressed how quickly it'll send power to the right wheels when it sense's traction loss. I don't think they changed anything from 2013-14 so I'm a little shocked to see it do so badly here.

    • @4x4.tests.on.rollers
      @4x4.tests.on.rollers  Před 3 lety +3

      There's low friction cooficient on snow, so not much torque is needed to spin the wheels without grip, that's different situation, much easier for the clutch-pack. Another thing is that the system should send the power to the right wheels before traction is lost, Honda was advertising it as proactive, not reactive.

W czwartej generacji zastosowano sprzęgło wielotarczowe sterowane elektronicznie, ale - jak tłumaczyła Honda - za słabe, aby przenieść wystarczająco dużo momentu, aczkolwiek sterowanie jest już niby proaktywne. W generacji piątej zastosowano mocniejsze sprzęgło.
