I love when Gibbs is building his boat and someone stops by for a drink and he just takes a jar full of screws/nails and just pours them out for a drinking glass LOL I guess he thinks whatever they're drinking will kill the germs LOL
everyone asks the question 'How does he get the boat out of the basement?'
the answer is that he does it one piece at a time up the stairs. what he's doing in the basement is called dry fitting, he completely dry fits the boat together in the basement when everything is finished he beings the whole thing outside through the basement door in pieces and then builds it in a weekend outside. in the basement we see him measuring, sanding, cutting, and fitting things in place but I've never seen him glue, hammer, nail, or varnish/seal the boat in any way.

Even if he fitted the boat to final completion, he could still take it apart, and reassemble it any time. People might say "but what about the finish" and i'd say, well, have you seen a boat up close?

Gibbs actually mentioned in a conversation with Jenny that he built another boat before this one which he set on fire because it was named after one of his ex-wives.
