Great presentation on the weber Q1200 and how to use it along with a lot of great tips you usually don't get unless watching a bbq chef show.. Cinched buy one for my condo where we can't have a propane grill on our private patio but can take a portable to the common patio nearby.

q1200 turned up at lunchtime and we fired it up, burgers cooked to perfection and cleaned up within an hour and a half, love it, burger press was a bit more difficult that the video shows, maybe I need to rub a bit of oil on the insides of the press so neat doesn't stick?

Hi James, glad you're loving the Q1200. It's normal to have to give it a good sharp tap to get the burger out but yes, oil always help. Watch Russell and Richard in this video: czcams.com/video/O4Pw2ScAif8/video.html

Processed cheese slices. I would make a bit more effort and slice some nice cheddar cheese. Otherwise you amy as well put a slice of plastic on the burger.

The cook said he would never add salt to the meat before the patty is made, because the salt would 'draw out the moisture, and make the burgers dry' (to paraphrase). Umm, is this really an issue? I mean, even if true, and the salt added to the meat pulls moisture, um, where exactly is the salt? --- it's in the meat. The salt added to the meat doesn't cause the meat's moisture to evaporate into the atmosphere. It doesn't cause global warming, climate change, or worldly whatever. It stays in the meat. With the moisture it is accused of drawing unto itself. Within the meat, where it will stay. Sooo, is there something I'm missing here?... Or is this causing --yet more-- unnecessary panic among the easily-deceived? (The latter, me thinks.)
