Now smash burgers have got to be one of the best ways to cook your burgers, you get an epic crust which really brings our more flavour and another level of texture!
The key is not using oil and letting the mince fat form that crust, you'll need a metal spatula to scrape your burger off the plate so you don't ruin the crust.
I'm happy if my searing surface temperature is around the 600f/315c mark.

@@LownSlowBasics is there a particular model you favor for trimming?
12am in uk and now I need a burger…you’re gonna be the death of me!
I do something similar, however, after smashing the burger ball on the griddle side, when I flip the burger I flip it into the grill and get that charcoal grill taste to go along with the smash crust. This means you want both sides heated up hot as hell or get a rotating grill to spin it over the direct heat source.
Very nice!
I've done the same but I use red onion nice and small diced, not quite as full on as a white onion. Can't beat a smash burger though, that crust is spot on!
Thanks mate 🍻
Yeeeees!!! Looks soooooo good!! Can’t go wrong with a smashed burger!! Awesome mate!!
Thanks legend.
Great video! Cannot beat a smash burger. Also didn’t know other regions call it tomato sauce and not ketchup.
Thanks mate, yeah usually called Tomato Sauce here in AUS.
thanks man, been doing smash burgers for a while and could never get a crust going. Now I know its because I was using oil! great vid mate keep it up
that looked amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! great video
Red flags all over for this ‘smash burger’.
👍
Just had the best home made burger of my life! Thanks mate!!
You are more than welcome, good work!
Yes and yes.
And yes!
Another mad recipe mate.
Cheers mate, enjoy.
Going to try this on the weekend 👌👌

Aw mate this looks perfect. Wish they delivered to the UK&I.
🍻
Been looking for a way to make smash burgers on my 57" kettle for ages. The Weber griddle pan is no good. This looks perfect & solid but I too am from the UK. Does anyone here know of an alternative ?
@@EntertheDragon76 A similar but different product would be the Drip ’N Griddle Pan - Cast Iron. I’m temped because you could do smash burgers and cook breakfast w/ eggs but I much prefer the look and the work surface of the Kettle Half Steak Plate/Half Hot Plate. I emailed Alex @ quetensils but unfortunately there isn’t a UK stockist. They can arrange delivery but highlighted with the weight, shipping would be pretty expensive.
@@__DK. Thank you.
@@EntertheDragon76 doubt you'll remember....but do you know what the alternative was, their comment has gone! Cheers
drooooooling. cheers.
🍻
that's awesome mate, well done
Awesome stuff! as allways.
Thanks mate!
I went to order one of those knives to NZ but says they wont ship to my city, which is weird because everyone else from around the world will.
Gave this a crack today and just a comment from experience that is not a criticism. If you are using a full hotplate / plancha on your Weber and not a 1/2 & 1/2 like in the video, then one basket of charcoal won’t give you enough heat due to the restricted airflow to the charcoal when you drop the full hotplate on top. Adjust accordingly. 😊
Love your channel, thank you. Any tips on how to cope with cooling winds? Here in the UK it's difficult to maintain temperatures in the BBQ.
Sounds like you are filming in a studio?
Hey mate! Just need to run things hotter and try get some shelter. I’m under my verandah so not a studio. Using a wind shield so the audio is good.
YUMMO!!!!
🍻
great job
🍻
I need that steak shooter @Low n Slow Basics any word m8 on getting it here in the US, I was wondering since our last conversation.
If you are happy to pay the ridiculous postage and run the risk of it either not making it there or taking a long time to get there, happy to get one to you. Apart from that it's over my head at this point in time. I'd need to find a stockist over there who would want to buy bulk amounts to make it worth it. I wish there was an easier way mate, i'd love to see it over there, sorry.
Brother....You Need a Hug!
🤗
Cholesterol called. He said I need a doctors visit! YYYUUUUUUMMMM!
😅
Супер бургер. Автору спасибо. Лайк. 👍👍👍😎✌️✌️✌️
They look great, can you provide a link to the knife site please?

Hey dude where is your charcoal starter chimney from? I need it.
I reckon Harvey Norman sell the Oklahoma Joe’s ones.
Do you really want to support Gerry the corporate welfare queen though?
Hey mate. How do you clean the grill plate after you've used it?
I want that griddle plate...
Bro, I’m buying the Kettle full hot plate from Que Tensils. Was it hard to cure it?
Was easy as. Comes with instructions
Do you get a lot of smoke when using your chimney? Mine chucks out tons of smoke til the briquettes are lit.
Not really, it’s probably more the briquettes you are using?
@@LownSlowBasics Strange, I'll try a few other brands. Cheers
Ever watched Ballistic BBQ?
No I haven’t mate, will have to check it out.
Nice feed fellas , where can I get a flat plate like that for my Webber here in Oz ?
Not sure mate but quetensils deliver to Australia
So glad you thought of us Americans when you said ketchup
Always thinking of you guys! Can't wait to get back over there.
Anyone know where I can get a hot plate for a 47cm kettle?
What's with the sweet brioche for savoury fillings? Brioche is for puddings. Yes I know I'm English but sweet or savoury. Not. Sweet and savoury
Sweet and savoury all day young chap!
Looks amazing mate. What do you use for your burger cheese?
Thanks mate, just the dairy Lea stuff from
Coles.
@@LownSlowBasics oh yeah sweet, cheers!
Do you still get flavour from the charcoal using the hot plate? Burger looks dynamite mate
Here wondering the same. Should I buy the Queetensils full hot plate or the the half hot plate/half crate?
Tuff
💪
Where did you get the griddle plate from

Looks bloody fantastic - I'd sneak some beetroot on that burger though!
Definitely
Hey Aaron, how do you know the ratios of fat/meat in the mince? I don't have my own mincer, are these mince mixtures readily available or do you have to make your own? Awesome video as per!
Hey mate! 80%meat 20% fat. Have a chat with your butcher or most supermarket “regular” beef mince is around same ratio.
How many ounces are the Patty’s?
I didn’t weigh them sorry.
where can u get a plate like that?
Should be a link in description.
lamb/chicken gyros recipe on the spit........
😎👌
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Cheers mate
