When General Grievous said I been trained in your Jedi arts by Count Dooku. Obi-Wan should have said to General Grevious oh yeah, I trained the guy who killed Count Dooku I have the upper hand.

He’s happy that Grievous took the bait. Grievous and the Separatist leaders are all preparing to leave and Kenobi makes a bold move to try and distract Grievous long enough for the Republic troops to arrive and end the war.
It worked, that’s why Kenobi is smiling. Grievous is sticking around to fight instead of leaving.

That and he's already had his history with Obi-Wan, with both having dubs on each other throughout the war. So naturally, one would lower their guard cause they've grown to predict each other's next move.

There’s at least green screen footage of the start of that fight, kinda wish they followed through with it
Grievous moves so fast it’s honestly hard to tell at some points in this fight. This scene really shows just how good Obi Wan is at defense with how he breaks Grievous’ defense and blocks all the attacks Grievous throws at him while cutting him down.
wait till you see him in the 2003 CW cartoon series
It's kinda what Grevious was trying to avoid. Obi wans best form is one that focuses almost solely on defense, frustrating your opponent and tiring them out. It's why in the start of the fight he says "Attack Kenobi" cause he was trying to goad Obi Wan onto the offensive but he wasn't falling for it
Obi used techic who made quigon it used user attacks and ground to balance his opponet and your self grivous never fought with that and he stared rushing at obi just to break his defence but obi used his attacks to manuver and cut 2 of hus hands griveous would won if clones did not came he would fight calmer and his brain cybernetics would him helo quickly adapt to this new form.
@@hasisarkar6032 I grew up on that show I know all about it
People made this.there is not much purpose other than its fun.
One of the cool details in this fight is when Grevious says "Attack Kenobi" He knows Obi Wans favoured style is almost solely focused on defense which focuses on frustrating your opponent and tiring them out. He was trying to goad Obi Wan into the offensive rather than have himself try to break his defence. Grevious made the first move though cause he realised Obi Wan wasn't falling for it
To be fair, Obi wan still did make the first attack. Grievous knew he wasn't foolish enough to just strike on the spot, so he spun his blades and moved towards him to reduce space for Obiwan. He would have to attack or he'd get boxed in.
He doesn't know that. This is the first time he fights Obi-Wan. He just used the helicopter technique to intimidate him.

So many people don’t seem to understand the entire point of this fight. Grievous and the Separatist leaders are about to leave, so Kenobi makes the bold move to jump down and confront Grievous one-on-one, calculating that Grievous has such a vendetta against him that he’ll stay to fight. Kenobi bets correctly which is why he smiles when Grievous ignites the lightsaber. At that point, Kenobi knows all he has to do is survive long enough for the Republic troops to arrive and then Grievous is done for and the war is over.

The part when the Clones arrive & rappel down, with the LAATs & Venators flying down to support is so awesome!
The fact that Obi Wan could've just Force pushed Grievous away at any point makes Obi Wan humoring his "jedi skills" in the beginning so much better.
No, Grievous uses fear, surprise, and intimidation to disconnect Kenobi from the force. It took a lot of effort for Kenobi to do that force push, which in reality probably saved his life, Kenobi didn't look like he could handle anymore lightsaber combat due to how much Grievous tired him out. A huge part of Obi-Wans form is that he tires out his enemies so he can strike when they're weak, the problem is Obi-Wan will get tired from defending those strikes, and Grievous will not get tired whatsoever because he's a cyborg. Obi-Wan wasn't going to have the energy to cut off more arms, this explains why Grievous was still so confident even though he had lost 2 arms (also note with two arms Grievous would be a lot more cautious in his attacks, he was reckless in the beginning to tire Kenobi out, but as a consequence he made many openings for Kenobi to strike).
But it's ironic how Kenobi almost got himself killed by entering Melee combat with a cyborg because he caused Grievous to retreat. Realise that Grievous only retreated because Kenobi used the force, Count Dooku taught grievous that if jedi become reconnected with the force he is best to retreat. He must always control the elements of fear, surprise, and intimidation, to manipulate his enemies.
Literally one of the best LightSaber duels of all time
i beg to differ, it was shortened too much.
it should have lasted a few minutes longer.
I wouldn’t say as a pure lightsaber duel it’s one of the best but in terms of how good of a fight it is(including the chase and the fist fight at the end) it’s one of the best in Star Wars
Agreed, one of my favorite duels in the trilogy under Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan vs Maul.
I was born in 1983... I honestly never had a favourite Star Wars character... The prequels gave us Obi-Wan in his prime and he fast became my favourite Star Wars character.. He's still my favourite Star Wars character to this day.

I would LOVE a live-action remake of the Clone Wars, just to see more of General Grievous!!
No. That would be retarded
I've heard we get something pretty close in the Ahsoka series on Disney+ !
After killing so many, Obi Wan is the first Jedi to remind Grievous he’s still just another droid.
As Dooku told Grievous in the 2003 cartoon, there is nothing he can do about the Force. His best options are to use fear, intimidation, and complicated movements to distract the Jedi from reading his moves or using the Force against him. If he is forced into a fight without an advantage, he retreats rather than dying, since his loss would be too great to the CIS.
It's a shame people only look at Grievous from a single perspective and always discount the motives and reason why he would act the way he does, and the clever writing of his strengths and weaknesses.
2:30. You should have opened with that
Too close, too risky I guess
"Hello there" "general kenobi"
I love the og movies but I grew up watching this and I honestly think this is the best star wars movie.
I love how Obi Wan was preparing to duel Grievous’ body guards and then just decided to squash them with that vent.
The attention to detail on him is still so insanely good, like at 0:39 when he turns his head and you can see what's either his heart or a lung pulsing through the gap in his neck, or better yet when he's talking at 2:23 with (what I can assume are what's left of) his cheek muscles and nasolabial folds moving pretty accurately in tandem with what he's saying
