I was at the game at the Palace ground for the replay, I was just 18 years old, and it still sticks in my mind as to such a wonderful game. Leeds were a dirty team, especially with Terry Yorath. Still the best FA Cup game I ever saw.

Wonderful to see this match again as I was at Selhurst Park on that never to be forgotten day. Thanks for bringing it all back so vividly.

Jimmy Hill said that 45,000 spectators paid £30,000 to see this game. That means that a ticket to get in cost about 85 pence. How much would it cost now ?

Wimbledon were in the FIFTH tier of the English Football Federation, and semi-pro. All the more remarkable that they took on Leeds with all there multi talented footballers.

Jimmy Hill got that wrong on two counts , 1st 45,000 people paid £30,000 2nd Johnny Giles shot wasn't going wide before the deflection , the shot would've curled inside the post....

+jonnyrottensp Not a chance 300k in 1975. That would average out at more than 6.50. Probably £1 for terraces. Elland Road in about 1977 was £1 kop, 80p lowfields, 50p boys pen!
