I love Ventura! Spent the best time of my life thus far in that wonderful town by the ocean. I feel as though I never should have left. I miss it terribly. And yes, LA stinks.
In 1982, while I was a senior at Sophia University in Tokyo, I participated in a homestay program in Ventura for a few days. The home was situated in a suburban area, approximately a 30-minute car ride from the beach. I still vividly recall the enjoyable moments I shared with my host parents in Ventura. I wish to reconnect with them and express my gratitude, but unfortunately, I have misplaced all the photos and information I had about them. However, I do remember that the husband's name was Matthew, and the wife's name was George. Both of them were likely in their middle to late twenties and had met each other at Ventura College. If anyone has any information regarding their whereabouts, please kindly reach out to me. I currently reside in Japan.

I left Ventura 35 years ago. A large part of this video does not show Ventura. This video is some sort of CZcams fluff with a digital voice. I know every harbor in the state and the aerial shot of that harbor is not even in California. When I moved to Ventura in 1980 it was a great place. It was like SB without the cost and snobbery. But, it was getting expensive in 1990--I will let others read the comments below. I am pretty sure the Bench Warmer is still there. Also, I held the pool table at the BanDar for about 4 hours once and I had to stop because I had to work the next day. The locals will know.
Venice canals in LA were shown.. Otherwise I did learn some stuff about Ventura. I’d like to visit someday!

I’m from Camarillo I lived 15 miles from the Ventura pool for the last 50 years.I live in the Midwest now to be near family. But also the areas has changed and LA is moving in. It is getting ruined, sadly. 😢
NICE CLEAN CTY....BUT RENT IS LIKE SAN FRANCISCO AND YOU BETTER BE SELF EMPLOYED OR FORGET ABOUT IT.....I TRIED AND LEFT TO PORTLAND OREGON IN 2000... NOW PORTLAND IS A TENT RIDDEN GHETTO.....SAD SCENE ALL OVER THE COUNTRY

I do not think that is in California either. I do not know where Highway 1 is still a two lane road anymore. The places in SoCal where Hwy 1 is that close to the beach has a rail road track next to it and those tracks go northwest up to Jalama and beyond.
Now pay parking down town pay for parking at surfers point now I don't care to go to Ventura CA
