  • Ok, so there's no right or wrong here as it depends on so many factors - skill level, weight, intended use etc etc, but these are my experiences and thoughts so far for what board sizes are best and for what application, both for the original Assist and the Assist PLUS.
    I do state my weight in the video but if you missed it I am 82kg.

    Hi Dom, You are my main source of inspiration on my pumping journey. My present pumping challenge is the Foil Drive with my 75L Takuma carbon board with the Axis 1150 and 450 rear wing. I am 67 kg but I find it really difficult to pump such a large board even after getting on foil quite easily with the foil drive. To get up on foil the front foot has to be so far forward but once on foil the front foot has to move back at least 3-4 inches to continue the pumping and it is so difficult to keep i going. I think I am making some progress but would really appreciate your advise on how to become more efficient and skilled with my pumping. You make it look so effortless. Thank you again !

    Super useful info! Thanks very much for sharing! with the 90L, with the box at the back how do you lie on the board? Im 82kg and have an axis 1150, now considering this kit/ board size

      I kneel on it when in flat water and its usually fine like that (I'm also 82kg) but in choppy water it can go underwater and lose connection so then I lie on it lifting my feet up to I get some speed up and then quickly pull myself up to my knees before standing up. A friend who is 75kg users a 75ltr board and he puts a 2" block of foam under the FoilDrive box and he's never had a problem with it losing connection

    Would you state the length of the cable on your foil drive? I would like to try other battery box locations. Thanks for the videos and information.

      Mine is 180cm but it's probably best to go for 200cm as that will give you more options and you can always coil the excess cable if there is too much

    Freestyle wing foil aerialists need to recover the foil after an aerial cavitation. A minimum standard volume in the wing board is needed to give just enough floatation as not sink too low in the water. With modern streamlined equipment, intermediate to advanced level riders can use this Wing Board Volume Calculator > 68-70% of rider weight (in wing board liters). I.E. 70 kilo rider = 50 liters / 80 kilo rider = 55 liters...
    Board Calculator > rider weight multiplied by 68% = ideal wing board liters (Freestyle Aerials).

      How you got there is beyond me but it seems to work. I agree in principle but surely also it depends on the skill level of the unsocial and the size of foil they are using. Age and therefore strength is also a factor. I know a few 60+ year olds who prefer a bit more volume than your calculation allows. Its great as a guideline though

    I weigh 100 kilos, 140 L board. Assist plus coming this week! For proper efoiling, should I use a 2450 LA foil or an 1800 HA? Seems like the HA will have less drag but you’re saying that it might burn more battery getting me up.

      You'll probably be able to use both. The big foil will give you longer battery duration but will be less maneuverable and will be slower, and the smaller foil will drain the battery quicker but you'll have more maneuverability and speed. Both have their place and are fun in different ways. Cruising or blasting around, both are better then windsurfing/kitesurfing/surfing etc 😉😆😜💯👌😯🤣🤣🤣

      @@dominichoskyns9091 yes hoping to increase my carving skills when the wind dies so I'll be better at transitions and wave riding while wing foiling. Also hoping I can entice my son into the sport because the sailing/wing just adds too much complexity for him at this stage.

    When purchasing an Efoil Assist Plus package, you will have to decide for one length of cable right? What would be the solution if I want to do both, using the package sometimes for E-foiling on my SUP Board (with the motir doen at the fuselage) and sometimes just as an assist on my prone board (with the motor higher in the mast close to the board)? Buy a second package of Foil Assist Plus with a different length of cable?? 😳😳

    • @dominichoskyns9091
      @dominichoskyns9091  Před rokem +1

      No, you just buy the length of cable need to efoil. When you use the motor in the assist position you just coil the excess cable up directly as it comes out of the box and hold it in place with the rubber cable ties or some rope/string.

      @@dominichoskyns9091 A, yes! Didn't think about that haha. And another question: I saw that you pick the specific mast you want to use the gear with. Is there any way to get a propeller that will fit both, on the Aluminum 19mm Mast AND the High Modulus Mast of Axis?
