The thing is, there’s no such thing as a traditional Christmas. You come from a Vietnamese family, so just because you’ve never celebrated Christmas the ‘western way’, doesn’t mean you’ve never experienced it. Don’t fall in the trap of western ideals

Look i don’t know much about your family rn and your family intentions this christmas. But if anything do not let them milk you out for love. Your success is not something you owe them or need to share with them no matter what … if the love is not happening and it is not genuine remove yourself again from toxic environments. It’ll come a day where you have your own family with a very different dynamic. lots of love mai.

Thank you for being transparent about your childhood trauma, it is so important. I myself have some childhood trauma from my crazy chaotic family. I am so excited to have a stress-free Christmas this year since cutting the toxic people out. This year I am spending it with people that bring me joy, including blood and non-blood family.
