- The Bee Challenger Electric Bike from Bee Cool Bikes is big, fast and built to last. It looks and feels like a motorcycle, but is a very capable e-bike with a smooth ride with front and dual-rear suspension.

I think that the e-bike companies really "dropped the ball" on lighting. Maybe now they are doing better with this. Most people on the road do not know what to make of these bikes. "Is that a Motorcycle...is that a bicycle?" I have a modded Radrover. It's big and looks more like an old-school Motorcycle(that's what I was going for). I added a larger headlight., large taillight, and some accent lights on the sides of the back frame and side of front forks. Works well and looks quite good. TURN-SIGNALS are what I am working on now. No signals is very dangerous, especially at night! I absolutely love my electric-cycle but, for the prices of these machines, they could at least equip them with turn-signals.(this should be a standard feature now) They are not bicycles any longer. they are something more now.
This has turn signals
I totally agree...
YES, Lights are a major safety factor! Ebikes hugging curbs are very hard to see until you've already pulled out in front of them. Challenger has 'turn signals' but they're way too small! Also, Brightly colored riding apparel helps too. But, always ride in the "I'm invisible" mindset...
Excellent video! Aroll shots look like you used softboxes, superb quality.
Thanks!
Excellent review. I'd love to see road slicks as an option for this. Also, a stock feature for raising the seat about 4 inches.
Gorgeous bike. Just wish they had left the middle horizontal brace off for allowing more mods and extra batteries, cargo etc. Nice review. Also wish manufacturers would give these higher wattage motors like 3-5000 watts or even more like 12000. Then this thing would fly with a 72 volt system and more battery!
And that's what I'd do with this! What a great light-weight e-motorcycle!
Gas tank? Let’s call it a battery case. Good job on your review. It was very thorough.👍
Having backed the C3strom Astro I like this one too.
Love the $1799 Bee-Challenger, 750W48V30AH Spanks Super 73 single battery both power and price!
Nice video SKB!
Adding some stainless spacers to the seat can help for taller riders. I am 6'2" and can tell you there is no way anyone taller than that could be comfortable on this bike even without it. Shocks are amazing! My last ebike was a ReviBikes Cheetah, great bike also and more comfortable for taller riders. Rigid with NO suspension whatsoever on the Cheetah though. Great video and very honest review.
Did you get the 1000 watt model? I was wondering what top speed that one would receive...
@@sector7676 I ordered the 1000w but I think I got a 750w. This is a great bike, but there are problems. Controller display is unreliable, charging is very slow. 12 hrs from close to 0%. Like I said though great bike just get the 750w. My 750w cheetah is just as fast.
A longer seat with swept back handlebars would take care of longer legs. Also, 3/4" spacers between the crank and pegs would get your legs away from the tank for easier pedaling. Although, I doubt I'd be pedaling this beast very much... The 750W for $1799 is the best buy. 52V battery would perk it up quite a bit!
Definitely have a use for this. Fabricating up a rack with panniers not a big deal for me plus adding water bottle lug mounts an some kind of “glovebox” for the other space might be nice to build a clamshell out of carbon fiber but hit a camping store with the dimensions and think outside the box might be something fits right in there easily adaptable . What’s the range for the 1000 watt
I really like this E-Bike. The payload capacity, range and speed is impressive.
The heavier the bike, the riddle feel a lot better
If I ride this on the street, I will definitely be in the center of the sight. Want one and Need one😍
Do u think it'd be possible to swap out those handlebars for some Cafe racer style bars?
Im 5'4". Will this work? Would you choose this or the ride1up revv1
More range then my Nissan leaf. Would be perfect somewhere like NY
I like the design because I used to have something like it, when I was a lil kid. Harley Davidson!!! Man, those were the days, summer times.
Bee Challenger 750W now $1999 and 1000W is $2499 and FREE BONUS TRAILER ! ! ! Great Review BTW... 90 lbs is no big deal. Lotsa bikes are 85 to 90 lbs...
Great Review! I love this bike . I made video about "walking mode" why and when to use it as this future helps a lot and its normal to be like that to help to go up hill or on the sand , dirt and anytime when is hard to walk with bike due to road conditions
I recently got a flat on my himiway cruiser on the rear and the walk mode which usually is to quick was the perfect speed with the complete empty tire
@@waynerhea6649 yes, thats one of the reason to use walking mode...
That's a slick helmet, do you know what is the name of the helmet?
Does this bike need to be "unlocked", to gain access to it's fullest performance?
How can I get this bike in the UK (London)?
Selling my current bike the zugo rhino which is an over priced basic bike, more expensive than this and has less features and no rear suspension. Yup definitely time to upgrade
I agree, Great Suspension, Great Battery, Great Looks... for $1999? SPANKS MOST EVERYTHING out there
If you don't mind me asking how long did it take for your to ship? Ordered mine not too long ago and they said two business days yet I haven't heard anything.
HAve you gotten it yet?
The tires are 24 not 26 the shocks are stiff as a board the front fork is crap the head light not assembled you can take the battery off with 4 screws bike is lots of fun to ride well balanced
BAck shocks too stiff with the air let out of them?
Does the 750w get more Range?
Diameter for the handle bar mount ?
I ordered this bike last week (1000w) and I have yet to hear from the company about when it will ship. I was wondering about how long it took for you to receive your bike after your initial purchase went through?
I bought the 1000w from the company. I got mine in one week and one day. Mine was over Labor Day weekend so the extra day sounds about right. Anyways. I kept calling almost everyday because the tracking was moving which turned out was UPS’s fault. But there is also a scam site that someone duplicated from their site. If you call the number from the bottom of the page, which is what I did, it was a sex hotline. Thankfully I ordered from the correct page. My truck is, call a number a site provides, listen to the name that answers, hang up, wait a minute and call back. If the same person answers or some other cranny or anything that’s not BeeCool, it’s most likely a scam.
I need to call the company because the bike is supposed to travel at least 60miles on just throttle but mine only travels approximately 20 miles on throttle only. Weird!
But yes, I love my ebike from BeeCool Bikes. Honestly, it’s one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. He talks about how uncomfortable the gas tank is, but it feels natural to me. It’s awesome! Any questions or anything else, feel free to ask. Good luck with your journey.
@@keanuwood8963 Good to know someone who owns my dream bike
@@johnw65 Since I’ve gotten the BeeCool red tank and black frame with 1000w, I haven’t regretted it once. It’s a real game changer. I’ve even rode it in light rain and it did so nice. If you can buy this electric bike, I highly recommend it and I highly recommend this electric bike. Feels like a real motorcycle and as a heavier person, I feel good on it. I feel bad ass. And using the bike without the throttle and just either pedaling or pedaling with assist is great for exercise. My muscles in my legs feel it and I love it. Again, buy it if you can.
@@keanuwood8963 Thanks man, I'm tempted by lightweight folders for price, and portability, but the Challenger haunts my dreams at night...lol I can't get it out of my head!
@@johnw65 I was too. I did my research and tossing and turning all summer until I finally made a decision around Labor Day and a week later I got my dream bike. Those lightweight folders are convenient but they just don’t compare to this. Thankfully I have a garage so it has a safe place. And the seat and suspension?! Oh my goodness! It’s like no other bike.
My advice, if you can save up during the winter and buy it when spring hits, do it. You won’t regret it. Unless you’re looking for less weight and being able to bring it in and out of your home, then yeah, you might regret it.
Wish they left the frame more open. So you could stuff it with a massive battery pack and upgrade the Motor. Make it a speed demon. I suppose you could take a grinder and cut out the horizontal bar section without compromising the Frame integrity. You could probably still fit a custom battery in the two empty frame parts.
Also wish the seat section was flat and extended past the back wheel to put different motorcycle seat on it and a saddle bag rack.
How is it running now? Bought mine the same time you bought yours. Mine is scrap now. Total failure of all electronic systems and motor.
Yea, I have the 750 watt one, too. I love it. Great review!
Do you by chance have a link for the phone mount you're using in this video? It looks way simple and easier to fit compared to the mount I bought from BeCool's website.
Can l put out the battery ?
Thank you how can I get one ? This Jerry from Santa cruz,ca.
What’s better the 750 or 1000 watts? Worth the extra $$$ ? Less range with the 1000?
Probably just depends. You can control the throttle thus conserving Battery
What is the top speed on throttle only
28-30 mph
I want to use this for food delivery. I do UberEats full time for 12 hours a day. Which version would you recommend I get for delivery?
Gonna be kinda hard with No racks front or back...
william brock - i would use something that pedals better, is lighter, looks more like a bicycle and less desirable to thieves.
I would use a gas scooter over this as they are more efficient, faster, with better range.
for delivery ebikes, a step through is great to have and racks, though some prefer backpack.
a lectric xp with extra batt or two would be very very good, even without step thru as its low anyways. also can get in a car easily, which is huge for emergencies and extending the range you can work deliveries.
@@TheFreshPeddler I saw a Grizzly delivery bike in NYC riding on sidewalks, and places a gas scooter can't legally go...
You ever considered trying something crazy like a Sur-ron?
I'm down to try that speed demon out someday.
Very cool if you like the dirt-bike style. I would not. Too much attention of the Police. I wouldn't make it a block before being pulled over. Too much $$ for that hassle.
@@williamsaloka9043 Well it is illegal as an ebike out of the box and should be registered everywhere except Fl I think? My city has dirt bikers and atvs illegally racing and taking over streets so even if it was registered they'd harass someone.
@@deehines5750 I'm an avid watcher of e-bike group-rides and such. The Sur-rons are fast and I also like going fast. They(and similar bikes) are on the "fast-track" to being exclusively targeted by the authorities. Maybe it's just me, but dirt-style bikes look "wrong" on the street. They are cool though.
@@deehines5750 Sur-ron's 6K motor is 5K past what's legal for "ebikes" in Oklahoma...Bee Challenger is built within the federal parameters of Class 1,2 and 3 ebikes. Sur-ron is way past that and you know it.
Is this e-bike waterproof?....
None of them are submersible... They can be ridden through shallow puddles and on wet roads only
Im 5'9" n this looks like it would be tough to peddle between tank & pedal height my knees might hit my chin lol
Looks cool. wish the spokes were solid. I feel like you might scrape the the foot pedals going around sharp corners. 6'2, 225 here, usually have a backpack and full face helmet on. Usb port? Also possible to solar charge it with a 320 watt solar panel and appropriate charge controller?
SKB can you do a video on X-PRO Lifan KMP 200?
Just looked that up and I didn't even know that Amazon sold motorcycles. 😮 I probably won't review that unless they reach out, but maybe one day. Other reviews look positive on it though.
@@SoldierKnowsBest thank you for getting back at me. Have a good day.
Why does it have a gas tank, that's clearly just in the way. You mentioned it being in the way when grabbing or lifting the bike, and pedaling. It's an electric bike, so why the gas tank???
The battery is inside of it he said it in the beginning
Since ebikes are not licensed in many locales, the less the ebike looks like a motorcycle, the better. I've ridden by police cars and have yet to get a dirty look.
I get the wtf is that look sometimes lol
Ebikes that looks more like a motorcycle wouldn't be bad around here if the riding height made it better for pedaling. No pedaling and the cops will definitely bother you here.
I would suggest knowing and being able to point out the laws in your area. My last ebike, and this one already, have gotten some questions. The police have always been friendly and accommodating, just curious mostly.
@@joshuacox1643 yeah it's hard for them to keep up with the constant changes and even the looks of certain bikes may draw a lot of attention.
@@joshuacox1643 Many are worried about 'Karens' be they Pedestrians, Spandex crowd or Cops... Riding a Challenger on sidewalks and bike trails is going to attract a lot of attention because of it's styling... I say, be courteous and keep those pedals moving! Bicycle hat over fullface motorcycle helmet. Leave your Hell's Angel leather vest at home... lol
definite example of form over functionality
If the battery was removable it’d be an instant buy
If I buy an electric bicycle, i ain't peddling sh**! :)
I'm only considering them because in the UK there's anti-electric-scooter legalities going on.
Look tight to pedal with knee height
Something that looks like a motorcycle to drivers but cannot achieve the speed of one is downright dangerous on the streets
Why would it be any more dangerous than a ebike that looks like a regular bike but can go 32mph?
You have a valid point, but it really doesn't matter anyways. We ALL take our chances out there, whether in a car, Motorcycle, or E-Cycle!!
Is still a bike. You have to drive it like a bike not like a motorcycle.
@@kriswhite91 Not really, the dangers are still the same. My fuel is my batteries, and my Engine is an electric motor. Everything else is the same.
@@williamsaloka9043 Nevertheless, If your local laws say they can go on bike trails, yell at your legislators, not the e-cyclists!
The problem with this bike you can't install second battery.
I do not believe that range, I weigh 250 pounds and ride hills.
Maybe it would go 40 miles on a good day.
It’s ha weight capacity of 400 it might be able to do it 95 probably not but more than 40 I would hope
Citizen Cycle did a one day throttle only range test and even though it has a 30ah battery it barely did better than the yest he did with the Explorer with a 21ah battery. I think it was was like Explorer had 32 miles and the Challenger did 35? I think he's 6'6. 220 though. My fiancee is 350lbs, using the Bee Cool Adventurer to help him lose weight from an accident and it's been a good bike for him but throttle only he can still get about 28 miles on the the 21ah battery.
I weigh 260lbs and get 40 miles on full throttle with the 1000w. On peddle assist I have no idea as I haven't drained the battery fully on all pedal assist.
walk mode is for hills.
So many welds
Knobby tires.......street tires almost double ur range......
The torque to weight ratio makes bikes like this prone to tire washout especially on street tires in my experience.
I'd prefer street tires as well
$1900 on amazon
Way too cramped leg to pedals.
😳
i like how no one probable can get to the 90 mils theses company's be laying about there distance for real
Design over function, at that price should come with fenders.
Just recieved mine and I'd does come with fenders on the 1000w edition at least.
@@joshuacox1643 So, How are you liking it so far Joshua?
@@johnw65 actually I hate it, was great for the first 2 months. Nothing but problems since. The odd size of the tires make it nearly impossible to get tubes in my area. The tires/rims are so tight it is difficult to change a tube without marring the rim. It is apparent that they charged me for the 1000w but sent me the 750w, the battery is either used or just junk(19 mile range) the controller is junk, had to solder the wiring for the charger, charger plug end is unique even though the charger is common. Chinese quality, not an American build just reseller.
@@joshuacox1643 Thanks for the update Joshua. It's good to know facts from personal experiencers!
im 350 pounds man
I think this is a great looking bike with the exception of the branding. "BEE COOL" screams "LAME" in all caps.
Terrible quality, horrendous customer service, reliability issues. Mine is 18 months old and they still havent fixed it, logged 12 miles and it broke. Do not do business with them, you will regret it.
Hey man, I looked through your channel to see details about your bike. Any update?
Thank you 🙏
Form over function…
I fail to see a gas tank.
Ok, Stevie Wonder
106 pounds good....lock wheel....theives cant get so far when ur deluvering....$$$
it's too slow for 3k 52V or 72 V is worth 3 1/2 k
Dude, This bike starts at $1999 and 750W48V30AH. Class 1,2 and 3 ebike. You're clueless
