That's proper cool, that is! I've just missed out on the opportunity of getting the Mandalorian speeder set for less than £300, but honestly, I much prefer the original trilogy version anyway. The cleaner, crisper white of the Scout Trooper, the iconic brown fuselage and that pop of green foliage on the base looks absolute quality! 💯👌 Great review, mate!

What an utterly brilliant addition to your collection! So happy for you, so jealous on my part. I watched this whole video with a stupid grin of delight on my face, as the speeder bike and scout trooper are a very fond part of Star Wars for me.
Oh my, that's a big box. It begs the question, how do you store all your boxes? Do you also keep their shippers? Must take up a huge amount of room.
02:33 While I never think of a scout trooper using their sniper rifle, I do really admire and appreciate the weathering on it. All those scratches are wonderful details that bring it to well-used life.
What you said about his knee pads was very interesting. I didn't know they'd done the Mando trooper's knee pads upside down.
06:25 This was very cool of you to do, comparing both scout troopers side by side. Something I really liked was that the Mando trooper was on the desert world of Tattooine, so his armour is weathered with sand blasting and yellow tones. Endor is a forest world, so the Jedi trooper has green weathering of mold, leaf and grass stains. I think it shows HT going the extra mile with their figures. They could have just done weathering as normal black grime and scratches etc, but no, they actually themed it to their location. Very nice. Props to Hot toys!
After having seen you compare both figures and bikes side by side (very much appreciated and very helpful! Thank you) I now know that I'd be very happy to own either figure, but I do think the Jedi one is superior.
Cheers mate!! It’s definitely one of my fave trooper designs too. Box storage is becoming a bit of an issue tbh but I’ve squirrelled them away in various places so I’m ok for the moment😅
Yeah the sniper rifle was a nice unexpected surprise! Agreed, the weathering is very well done and specific to the troopers location. Hot Toys attention to detail on point as usual! Glad the comparison bit was useful, I liked having another close look at the Mando scout & speeder, the bike really pops because of the colour but the RotJ version is my personal favourite cos of the iconic colour and scenes it was in.
Excellent review and comparisons as always! I know I’ll get this set, but I’m not in a hurry, as I’m saving up for Endor Luke. Glad there are plenty of differences between this and the Mandalorian version. Leia and Wicket can’t wait!

I don’t have the Mando version, but I have the older Sideshow scout. I’ve seen they don’t scale very well as this is much taller. Still love the base the sideshow figure came with. I’ve ordered this one and can’t wait to get it.
Hey Ann! I was on the look out for the Sideshow Speeder Bike for a while as it looks fantastic!! Never got round to picking it up unfortunately, and then this Hot Toys one came out so funds went towards that! Is great that you will get to own both 😀👍🏻
The Mando bike is an upgrade in the bikes which is cool as equipment would be improved over service use!
Yeah I love how they carried the design through to the Mando version, plus a lick of paint and a few enhancements! 👍🏻

Also it's REALLY cool to see they actually sculpted different armor for the mando version... as they did actually source a different maker for the mando version as opposed to going with someone that had access to lineage molds for the classic scout. That's real attention to detail for sure!
Yeah I love how the iconic look is there with the Mando version but there are a lot of differences, like the design has been tweaked since the fall of the Empire.

The Sideshow version was definitely one I was quite keen to get. Always thought it looked awesome but seemed quite difficult to get hold off!
Beautiful piece. Love that sniper rifle. comes with so much things to assemble..like a Lego😁. The speeder built good. Doesn't look fragile. U can never beat OT figures mate. Wonderful addition in your collection. Cheers

Im just rewatching some of your vids. I have the ROTJ speeder and scout. I honestly never noticed the text on it before now.
The attention detail from Hot Toys blows my mind sometimes. Like the writing you mention, I would never have seen/noticed that in the film but it was obviously there on the actual props and then replicated by Hot Toys. They are the masters at what they do 👍🏻😀

Not sure i could stretch to two bikes due to the obvious financial and space issue, but i definitely think a stand alone trooper would be a great compliment in a display.
Plenty of display interaction ideas with Luke and Leia alongside the bike and troops.
Got my Hoth Luke on the way from TBA....soon be ordering this!

Great review, I have mandalorian scout and speeder bike , would have loved to get this one for the OT aspect. But will probably just get the Scout trooper because of space limitations and will go great with my Leia and wicket set .

I need your advice. Detolfs are no longer available. What are your thoughts on an alternative?
I’ve been picking up detolfs for cheap off Facebook marketplace. But complete alternatives could include the following but I’ve never tried any of these personally:
Blaliden (by IKEA but they are smaller than Detolf so really only fits 1 to 2 figures per shelf).
Billy bookcase (another IKEA option but not something I’d go for as I need the glass shelves like the detolf).
Moducases (very expensive and very long lead time and again I’m not keen on the solid shelves as I prefer glass).
Think they’re probably the main alternatives without going for something totally custom or DIY? I hope that helps!
They both look awesome ! Congrats with that. Really tempted to buy it, but got no room for it and i already own the Sideshow scout. This one will be superior since it a Hot Toys but i am still happy with mine so skipping this one.

My MOST anticipated figure this one. I've got the trooper and bike on order.
The gap between visor and helmet; sometimes it was there on some scouts but not others. You'll see both, gap and no gap on troopers in ROTJ. The scout trooper that tries to capture Leia after the speederbike chase but gets attacked by Wicket had a gap in the helmet I think.
I much prefer the classic ROTJ to the Mando diaper trooper personally. Though I do have the Mando version scout trooper from HT.
Your story about the Kenner set from the 80's definately resonates with me.
I've been thinking about getting a 2nd trooper so I can have one on the bike, another with the sniper rifle too.

Mate it’s definitely been one I’ve really been looking forward to as well since it was announced!! 😀. Yeah thought I’d seen it with a gap, but also my main memory is there being no gap!! I guess that’s why when I first saw the Mando version (in the actual series) I was like “wow big gap”!
I’m the same mate, I like the Mando one but for me the classic RotJ is the definite scout trooper and speeder bike!

One wardrobe mistake should not be the norm for high end figures, the helmet is the Mando sculpt and not accurate to ROTJ The flightsuit should also open at the front with an open collar, the forearm armour is also Mando version. People are annoyed HT made good efforts in places and were lazy in others. Good review though.
Fantastic piece, as you say similar but different to the Mando version, have to admit I like this one better, looks really classy , if you were to pick up a forest background for this speeder bike set your display would be off the chart, amazing pick up, it really is top drawer , love this scene from ROTJ, amazing seeing this in the pictures as a kid💥 your collection just keeps getting ridiculously more impressive, so very pleased for you congrats…. What a special thing it is to have seen just one of the OT movies in cinema. Going to see Jedi in '83 when I was barely 3 is the first full-fledged memory of my life. I was all about Jabba & Ewok stuff. Even had the Play-Doh sets. But definitely the Scout and Royal Guard are the ones that stood out to me the most as a kid.

Yeah it’s real cloth. It unravels but it’s just a pillow type thing wrapped in a small blanket! Not sure if that was what they used to camp out at night on the forest moon or what. 😀 Thanks for the question and for watching 👍🏻

The only major thing for this one that I'm surprised they didn't do is paint the inside of the snout black. That inside nose piece is black with the gray greeblie on top. The hot toys version is just bare white in there. incredibly minor detail but nothing that hasn't been known over the years. Still an AMAZING figure. My favorite trooper of all time!!

Just not sure how I feel about the gap under the nose of the bike. And the it seems to sag a bit. Not sure if that’s accurate to ROTJ.
Yeah I’ve noticed that but thought I was going mad! You are the first person to mention it so glad it’s not just me! The gap does look a bit more pronounced than how it appears in the film doesn’t it. When you get yours you will have to side-by-side compare it to the Sideshow version! 😃👍🏻

@@stevemuzak8526 yeah it’s weird. I even heard some pretty well respected collectors that saw the RotJ speeder a few weeks ago saying it was just a repaint too. At first glance it does look very similar of course but the differences quickly become apparent!
My favourite trooper since childhood. A friend had all the Star Wars toys, and I remember an exploding speeder bike. I would really like to get this for an Endor diorama. I would like to get two of these rather than have a trooper stuck without a bike. The second can always be given to someone else when he isn’t using it. Fond memories from Star Wars Battlefront ‘04 and Battlefront II ‘05.
Ah man those exploding speeder bikes definitely take me back! Yes you could make a really amazing diorama with this bike! The quality and detailing is on point 👌🏻
@@TK421Collectibles TW have taken the option of a payment plan off some of their in-stock items. This has put ANH Leia out of reach. A payment plan is still available for Hoth Leia, though.
It might still be a good idea to get Shoretroopers next month, though, if they are still on sale.
Then again, it seems like the bear market has reached the bottom, so it might be a better idea to buy Crypto!
@@DioBrando-jm7uf tbh I’m surprised they offer payment plans on older figures because they must have to store the stock somewhere while the customer pays the instalments. It’s great that they do tho! Really handy. I would have thought they’d just want to get the figures shifted tho. Especially with people selling up and causing the price drops.
@@TK421Collectibles The payment plans have been taken off cheaper items and old ones with low stock levels. Old expensive stuff with higher stock levels still seem to have them.

No, unfortunately it does not fit in the detolf! 🥺 it would be cool if it did but it’s just too long even corner to corner. I’ve had to display mine on top of the detolf, and it looks good at height to be fair 😀👍🏻
