In 1983 or ‘84 I built and painted a plastic model of the Scout Trooper on a Speederbike and proudly displayed it until the plastic started breaking down around 2006 or so. Such a cool imaginative figure for those who love the feel of zipping around on a bike. Alas those days are over for me as I have taken on responsibilities that make such adventures too risky. These new HT figures are outstanding and I hope they bring people just as much joy today.
This is a more iconic look than the Mando version. Don’t think I’ve got a spot in the collection for either but if I was gonna pick one up it would be this guy
I ended up picking up 2 of the Mando one because I loved that scene so much. It was hilarious. May consider one of these. Not sure yet.
Agree totally. I was originally going to get the Mando one, hoping this would come out. When it was announced I cancelled Mando and ordered this. Getting it in a couple of weeks hopefully.
I'm glad they didn't go overboard with the weathering, like they did with the Mando version. Not a fan of the diorama base - I much prefer the simple black base the Sideshow version has. They should have given a simple black base with a diorama cover that could slip over it for those who want it. Got one with the speeder bike and two without on the way, have Mando one with the bike and without, and the Sideshow bike and trooper; I'll have quite the scout trooper collection, and they all won't be the same identical trooper. That makes for a happy Daniel 😁.

I cannot wait to get this figure!!!! My favorite Trooper from the original trilogy. But my all-time favorite troopers from the entire Saga episodes 1 through 6 is hands down the phase 1 clone trooper from Attack of the Clones.
As someone who owns 2 Mando speederbikes and Troopers I must say I prefer this version. The white ones will work for the Snow troopers I'm thinking......
The Sideshow bikes are flimsy but I think the details are more refined. They definitely need to be glued in some places to help shore them up so they don't fall apart. But that is a commitment in keeping and not reselling them.
This is a more solid product and can be repackaged if need be.
I do like the ROTJ Scout Troopers better.

I have the Mando set and like it a lot for its unique look. I'll definitely retire the Sideshow Bike when I get this one. Would appreciate seeing your Scout figure after your mods. Keep the content coming...take care.

I'm glad they actually changed the armor moulds for the figures since both sets of armor in real life were different
I was surprised that they didn't fix the helmet. even though they had enough time to fix the helmet.

Sideshow came with its own version of this sniper rifle, which is from Battlefront I believe. Or maybe the one you have wasn't the Sideshow exclusive, so you didn't get the rifle.
And the ROTJ set is definitely hands down the better of the two. You don't have a sand trooper lookin' biker scout, the torso area makes more sense with the armor not restricting you when riding, and you just can't beat that brown bike. The white one looks so drab and out of place by comparison. It reminds me of the Hoth speeder bikes; so it'd make sense if it was on a snowy ice planet.

Outstanding poses and video- yeah PO within 1st hour of releasing. Knew about the comic prior to ordering hopefully we do get a live action take/flashback in Book of Boba 2
Fairplay to hot toys for the details in the different speeder bikes from different "eras". I thought they would just recolor it and that's it.
Looking forward to seeing that process in getting rid of the fat suit. I recently made a purchase of three scout troopers without the speeder bike, but still looking to purchase this one presented with the bike. Great video commentary.

I’ve preordered a 2nd batch set of the trooper and speeder bike - I’m thinking of picking up a trooper by himself.
It’s a shame they kept the side split on the helmet from the Mando version. The only thing I prefer on the Mando version is the shorter cloth section - it looks better proportionally but I prefer the cleanliness and nostalgia of the RotJ one.
I would love to see a short video or post on removing his fatsuit.
P.S: love the new intro and outro music on the video.
Hey I like both Scout with Speeder Bike. But I’m an original Star Wars fan. So sentimentally I’m loving this version more. I want it but price and space is an issue. Not sure if I’ll buy just the scout alone. But I feel bike is needs for the full effect. Lol… and two would look awesome side by side. One displayed with Luke or Leia. I might take your advice and see if free shipping is offered in the future. Keep those reviews coming!

Wow. Really awesome. I may have to take the plunge and buy the Trooper/Speeder rather than just a lone trooper!
Is the armor really different or is it just put on wrong in the mando version, knee pads look upside down and the arm pieces too, wondering if they actually made new armor or just placed the pieces on correctly this time around...
The chest armour piece is a fair bit smaller on the ROTJ version. The Mando version has a much longer chest piece.
The back piece is also a different shape. The "tank" thing on the back is lower down on the Mando version.
The ROTJ pouches are bigger and placed differently.
The shoulder/upper arm armour on the Mando version is longer, thinner and straighter. The ROTJ version has shorter, thicker, rounder armour on the shoulders.
The kneepads are the same I think. The Mando version is just upside down.
I currently have the Mandalorian version of the speeder bike set plus an additional Scout trooper, so I was hesitant on getting these, but I've seen they do have differences in the armor so I'll be grabbing the 2 Scout troopers to go with my Endor Leia, Wicket and Luke figures. I'll be skipping the speeder bike this time as I just don't have the room for it. It takes up way too much room that I could use for other figures
They definitely take up some space. But the trooper is pretty sweet on his own
The ROTJ Troopers chest armor is like an A cup bra and the Mando one is like a double D lol.

The magnets need to be placed from underneath, bit fiddly but works alot better. Good review and do like your poses.
I wish they would've fixed the gap on his helmet on this one. I didn't like manually doing the console and the sticker for the stand. Which you didn't have to do for the Mando one. I do prefer the ROTJ one though It's definitely eye candy on my shelf.

I have two Mando scout troopers to recreate the scene where one is by his speeder bike while the other is trying to blast a can.
I have one of these ROTJ scout trooper with speeder bike on order. After this video I might need to get another one.

Are you referring to the Sideshow 1/4 scale one released in about 2009?
Sideshow Scout is nothing to sneeze at. I have 7 or 8 of them including the exclusive with the E-11S sniper rifle. Hot toys is of course better quality and detail. But all those years ago, if you wanted a 1/6 scale Scout Trooper that was it
Sideshow piece is what it is...the Hot Toys one is far superior in every way. You're right about it being the only option for a long time tho
@@JedhaPatrol I was able to get the sniper rifle only on Ebay. Scouts are one of my favorite Troopers besides the Hot Toys Shadow trooper

Don't know if its been mentioned, but the magnets are the wrong way around. The flat piece is supposed to go under the flap. Great video though

Trying to get this dude onto the bike… I was hoping hot toys were going to do some innovation/updating from the sideshow but this piece really has all of the exact same issues the sideshow version has, If not worse when it comes to this version’s scout trooper having a fat suit for some reason. Someone should be fired for that one. Anyway, If you already have the sideshow version, this isn’t much of an upgrade besides the base. Kind of a disappointment, I was really hoping for more out of hot toys.
I've ripped out so many fat suits I could make a pillow out of them.
The front of the bike is not in line with the sitting part; is that movie-accurate or just lazy design on the part of Hot Toys?

There are a lot of differences between the scout trooper and a Mandalorian one. The Return of the Jedi Scout Trooper in my opinion is superior in every way to the Mandalorian one. But I'm also a little biased because I don't like the Mandalorian. Or anything Disney Star Wars for that matter.
