Does Sole Physical Custody Mean that You Get More Child Support?

  • In Pennsylvania, the support guidelines presumes that the noncustodial parent (obligor) has a certain amount of custodial time with the child. If the person paying the child support does not have any custodial time at all, does that mean the court should deviate upward and require the paying parent to pay more child support? Alycia Kinchloe, Esq., discusses this in this video.

Well my children's father ( I have 2 children, both fathered by him. I have been remarried for 8&1/2 years) After we split up , he didn't see or attempt to see his/ our kids for over 7 years. Nor did he ever pay me a $1. Now that he's had 2 more children with a different woman - (who he's also not together with) He decided it was finally convenient/ time for him to ask to see my/ our children. I said yes - because I don't believe in keeping children away from their Fathers - the children are the ones who miss out when mother's vindictively don't allow father's to be apart of their lives. He's now seen them about 10 times. I'd asked him if we could get together & sit down to discuss him finally paying child support. At first he flipped out & threatened to get split custody so he wouldn't have to pay. 🤦🏽‍♀️. Then after about a month , called me back & has since paid me $200 all together a month for 2 children. So $100 per month per child.... My son is 13 & daughter 10. He didn't see them from the time our son was 5 until he turned 12yrs old. $100 per month per child is a joke. My son needs to go to the dentist badly. I'm trying to apply for Arkids insurance, but they have the law now where they basically make u give up the biological fathers information & go after him for child support in order to get the insurance. So I can't get him insurance & into the dentist until that happens. My son asks on a daily basis to go to he dentist so he can get braces. I'm extremely afraid that out of spite he(their father) is going to try to get split custody so he doesn't have to pay child support. But I don't have an extra $3k + laying around for braces , I don't have a choice. My hope is that surely after a judge hearing that he abandoned his children for over 7 years , without so much as a phone call & has only seen them a handful of times & has been paying $100 per month per child for about 8months now ....surely he wouldn't get split custody... I would be happy & thankful for even $300 per child/ $600 per month in child support. My question though is = I'm trying to apply for Arkids insurance so that I can take my children to the dentist. They now make you give his information to get the benefits/ insurance. So will the state / Arkids get the child support money from him or would I?

Love the channel. I'm a new sub. Question: Does a parent have to continue to pay child support if their child enlists the in the military?
