- 🍜 Trying 5 Unique Chinese Foods for the First Time! 🍚
I love learning about my boyfriend's culture and trying food he grew up eating. Although I'm someone who isn't typically adventurous with food, I'm glad I pushed my limits for this one became I found a new all-time favourite among them! hehe
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this video and if you want to see more, drop your suggestions in the comments - what should I try next ?

What should I try next??
Momordica charantia、Snail noodles
Balut duck egg
… I never see anyone eating bamboo like that lol😂. I usually cut into strip and cook it with pork meat make make it as soup.
How about going to hotpot? Liuyishou is pretty solid. Lots of variety for you to try.
Pig's ear, pig's brains, duck blood, beef tripe, those kind of things. Basically things you eat for hotpot.
9.5 score for durian - This girl is a keeper!!!
Glad to see an Arab-Asian couple doing well. Arab culture is great and as an Asian American, I eat Arab cuisine any chance I can get, it's healthy and delicious. Just had baba ganoush and dolma with grape leaves today, eating middle eastern cuisine is a refreshing feeling
I like how she is not scared or disgusted
She is excited and open to try new things
You don't usually just eat preserved (or century) eggs alone like that because the taste and smell alone can be very overpowering. Eat them with congee.
This! ive never seen anyone eat it by itself
I do that actually with soy sauce and vinegar or with marinated jellyfish. But I can eat it directly sometimes. But you are right, for first timer, it’s better to eat that with congee
That's true, most folks don't eat duck eggs alone, it's usually served with congee among Southern Chinese, or Taiwanese folks will serve them with tofu. I have eaten them alone myself but that's because I grew up eating them and am more used to the flavor.
In Malaysia, we eat it with pickled ginger.
Piia knows how to enjoy Durian … that shows she’s a true foodie!
Edward, you’re totally blessed to be loved by a Middle Eastern beauty, I envy you bro
MARRY HER ! SHE EATS DURIAN ! hah
Oh are we going to get the Edward version of this with your dishes!? This is great to know y’all’s thoughts, and learn more about the cultural foods!! Regardless if you don’t like it or not. Also I’d love more cooking in each other’s cultural foods.
Now, Edward needs to try 5 Unique Lebanese Foods!!! Looking fwd to that!! 😋🤙
3:50 😂 add it to congee!!!!! It’s better with congee!!!
I love durian as well ❤❤
A new favourite! I'm obsessed 🫣
The chicken feet ("phoenix claws") have a lot of collagen. Very good for your skin.

Love this!!! You guys are so cute, I’m so proud of you for trying all of these! 😅❤
Any arab girl who can eat durian is the prized wife
If she likes durian shes a keeper ma guy
A lot of the Chinese preserved food was created by families that didn’t have much money and they liked to create something with a strong taste and you could mix a little bit of it with things like rice or congee so it could last for many meals. I’ve never eaten the preserved egg by itself but I just really love it with congee ever since I was a kid.
Respect for trying and loving durian 👏
Yes Edward you found a good one Durian lover, stinky tofu and chicken feet wow put a ring on that asap
there's a lot more interesting foods that you haven't tried yet 😏
yes sheldon
there are actually many variations of these food!
Durian ton of health benefit. Luv it :)
Dang the way edward looks at you 🥰🥰😍😍
It's the chicken skin that you're eating. It's very tasty!!
HAVE YOU EVER TRIED FOODS FROM EXOTIC WUHAN MARKET?
i MEAN SNACES, TURTLES, APES, KATS ,DOGS AND SO ON
Pei dan is good with sliced ginger.
@6:55 - STINKY TOFU?!?!? 😂😂😂
Also, compliments on how you hold your sticks! 你做得好好!
Durian... You and your bf should come to Penang, Malaysia and try the real durian. Musang King, D24, XO, Black Thorn, Red Prawn, etc. Besides durian, you can try nasi kandar, laksa, wan tan mee, curry mee, char Koay teow, duck noodles, loh bak, lor mee, mee goreng, chapati, roti canai and many more. We are known as Food Paradise of the east for a reason. 😉👍
That's a great list! Thank you 🙌
Durian is something you either LOVE it or HATE it. I am on the former side and my wife hates it!
Century egg put ginger sauce tat will be nice the taste. Coz I'm mixed blood 1/6 of Chinese blood
9:25 it can sometimes smells like feet, but it’s tasty!!! Glad you’re not like some people I know that are generally grossed out before trying it.
First time see a couple eat durian with chopsticks
I love luosifen!Give it a try he he he he
Wow!
Raw ingredients are not foods. The bamboo shots should be cooked first. Moreover you're not supposed to eat the century-old egg like that. Cut it into dices and mix them with rice soup. It's like toppings to oatmeal. Or you can cut it into slices and spread sesame oil on the top.
you should eat pidan with vinegar and sugar.that would be great
such a cute video! i like to the eat the bamboo sticks in my hot pot! (:
Thank you 😋
I'm in shock you guys love the durian. I'm scared of trying it LMAO
it's like coffee, first is acquire taste but once you eat enough of it you'll grow into liking it
haha, at least I haven’t seen anyone in China eats bamboo shots in raw😂 usually it pan fried with other veggies or making bone broth with it😅
Durian: cultures that have sour cream in their diet seem to take to durian very easily.
damn $70 for durian?! its $3 a lb in Florida!!
Waw so cheap!!
Edward's toe!! 🤣🤣🤣
😂😂
he better marry u girl lol . Antee jameela"
👍🏼 I like the cross cultural connection
Food… better than fighting
Keluarga anda menyenangkan
Impressive. She likes Durian😂
Durian is not a Chinese Food. It is a recent trend that the Chinese in China are buying it up. It has been natively from Indonesia/Malaysia/Singapore region, and has been for centuries.
😍😍😍❤❤❤ greast lovely
A few notes!
1. I think every cantonese person died a little on the inside when you rated chicken feet only 4/10 lol
2. The century egg (pi dan) is actually not cooked by default. The chemical process used to preserve it causes the egg to gel up, which "cooks" the egg
3. Bamboo shoots are usually eaten stir fried, as a salad, or preserved. They're not usually eaten raw in that manner
4. Glad you enjoyed the stinky tofu! The one you had is packaged and isn't as stinky as the ones they typically sell at street vendors. How stinky tofu is cooked varies by region and some can get very, very foul
5. Glad you liked the durian too! What Edward said about Chinese people loving durian and it being expensive is very true. In China during the summer durian is literally everywhere. Durian flavored desserts are especially popular. In singapore, a lot of hotels ban you from bringing in durian because the smell would linger in the rooms
Overall, I'm super glad you were open minded and gave honest, unbiased feedback on the food! We need more people like you
I love chicken feett
💖🇳🇵
Also try the real chinese foods 😏
Recommendations please 🤗
@@piiatamare There are many like :Sea Cucumber,Stinky Tofu, and Fried Scorpions
3:19 Here we cook it before eating...
Would it taste different? 🤔
@@piiatamare ofcourse..one is raw,one is not 🤣
Durian I will never eat again. The smell
Maybe u guys can create an account in Bilibili, and make Edword do the translation work, adding some Chinese subtitles to it. But doing this will cost many time and u two will not be together as before😅, anyway, pasa un buen día
As long as before *
You love durian? Im about to
Steal you from edward
If you put spicy, soy source and vinegar in the thousands years egg, you will like it. You shouldn't eat it without any ingredients.
China does not produce durian. If you want to taste the highest quality durian, you must travel to Southeast Asian countries.
They said in the video that it’s not actually Chinese 😂
But it’s popular among Chinese descendants in Southeast Asia
Usually, durians grow well in south Vietnam and Thailand! * fun fact
@@PassportCalifornia Malaysia too
皮蛋
Panda eat only bamboo for no reason
The egg you are not suppose to eat it without rice or porridge -_-
even Chinese ain't that crazy to straight up an century egg or bamboo shoot.... you put century egg in congee or with pickled ginger or with tofu and sweet light soy sauce.... and for bamboo shoot, you cook with other meats or you pickle it or braise it.... that's is pure misrepresentation on Chinese ingredients
wow you like durian? 9/10 don't like it lol
皮蛋不是这么吃的啊,通常中国人的吃法是姜汁皮蛋😂
Finally!!!! A5iran Lebanese and chinese!!!
