    In this lesson Lenny Sly sensei teaches how to effectively enter in against a fast jab and apply TenShin aikido iriminage. Sensei goes into detail on to use kiriage and suriage with explosive speed to apply iriminage before the attacker can react. Most aikido dojo do not train in this manner. So we wanted to feature the begining of how we train Kao Tsuki Iriminage. / roguewarriorstrainingc...

    Great iriminage from tenshin standpoint. Have used this in an actual fight. Applied correctly it works to stop an attack dead in its tracks! Thanks Lenny!

    This is great I really wish Joe Rogan and those mma fanboys who say aikido is bologna can see your work. It’s extremely practical and shows the power of an aikido master and just how much skill is needed. Yes aikido can be “badass” and here is proof.

      well by rebuttal: open Connor McGregor Wiki page and you will see the bottom all opponents that he defeated..all of them were determined to knock him down and hurt him bad but he came on top. if you want to show me me an Aikido champion show me the number of people he/she has defeated in free fight.

    Is it just the hands are deflecting? or the body too is moving sideways?

    0:45 is that a straight right ? if it is ...why does he step forward with the right leg ?

    • @joeridestrijcker445
      @joeridestrijcker445 Před 4 lety

      it's quite typical in aikido to step in with the leg at same side as the punch... contrary to the karate or boxing version of 'reverse punch'; comes from the 'stabbing with a knife or sword' movement; I also don't always find it very intuitive, so I understand your question ;) ; maybe Lenny should do a series of aikido techniques countering boxing or karate style punches, just an idea

  • @SherrickDuncan

    Would not the Aikido Iriminage work better in concert with something like the boxing concept of The Pull Counter with the Coutner being the Aikido Iriminage rather than all of that fancy an unnecessary blocking?

    • @carlosjones-nv4rj
      @carlosjones-nv4rj Před měsícem

      You got to use hand deflections to make a tradition from technique.. to technique called blending. Also you may have multiple attackers deflect first attacker and take down second or more you will see the benefits in randori
