One of my favorite lines from Marvin is when he tells Shaggy,

Either Marvin has no idea how OP Shaggy is, or he’s hiding something.
I like to think he’s unaware of the power Shaggy holds, but who knows..

He's unable / doesn't know or care what goes beyond his own nose...I know he doesn't have one btw. Also, the Martian bit is a bit of an irony. Since his only goal is to conquer he has detached himself from any other possible reality.

Marvin was the judge in space jam because he is a looney tune but also a martian. He is a part of both parties, and therefore the closest to an impartial judge they can get at that moment.
