I spent three days in Cook Forest and finished my adventures with a quick hike behind the Indian Loop cabins. Be sure to check out the rest of the videos in the Peak Leaves series. • Peak Leaves | Mid Octo...
This is a really cool hidden gem. I seen your short saying that it only cost the equivalent of a case of beer... can't come close to beating that!! And I left this comment yesterday but for some reason it didn't stick. 🤷
I rented that little cabin for $31 a night, and shot all of the videos the same day. The whole trip has made a fairly profound impact on me. I’m looking for another trip like this before the new year. Thanks for always showing up. I appreciate it a great deal.
@EriebyCycle there is something about the energy and liberating feeling a walk through the woods can do for you! Actually thats a great movie, "A Walk Through The Woods,"with Redford and Busey in it. Check it out if you haven't. I know exactly how you feel man. I've been there and still am! A will to wonder and explore. Mother Nature will contain your curiosity and suck you in. Its more the feeling to explore and see whats down this path or off the beaten path?! It's disconnecting from the everyday hustle. Dude I could talk about it forever lol Plus, this place was cool. Lol
@@billywood9717 it was 100% the solo exploration aspect of the whole thing that got me. And doing that in a place that looks so different than where I normally live.
@EriebyCycle its really neat how there can be such a wanderlust outside of the rat race. How it's all in the same area. I think it's natural. It's in our blood. So many before our time, like our ancestors, have had the will to explore. It's natural in man. Explains our existence. I'm sure there's more to discover. You're not far from the Appalachian. If it calls you, then you gotta go for it!
I need to get back to Cooks Forest, it's been forever... another fantastic video too 👏
Those cabins are $31 a night until mid December when they close up until spring.
Thanks a bunch pal!

Are those trails only for Hiking..I would explore them on a bike when it’s warmer
Yes. Hiking only. I saw a lot of signs that said "No Bicycles. Foot Traffic Only." while I was there.
