    Keep doing what you're doing, Paul.
    At the end of the day, you've got to do what keeps you motivated and happy.
    Working for "the man" might make earn you some more money, but not worth sacrificing your own happiness, the rest of your life will suffer.
    Rock on 🤘

      Thanks man, when are we doing straight axle Ford stuff?!

      @@buttcrackcycles First I think I'm going to clean up the front axle, and do the disc brake conversion.
      Want to make sure that's set in stone, so I can lock in the rear axle, and then the frame.

    Thanks for your honesty. If you can make enough money to pay for your hobby and work your main job for the family , that’s cool !

      Absolutely, any little extra is good, especially when you enjoy making it

    Batteries in general are most definitely not lasting as long. 2-3 years is now normal instead of 3-5

    • @buttcrackcycles
      @buttcrackcycles  Před 5 měsíci +3

      Yeah that seems to be the case even on bigger batteries. Pretty sad

    Well I'm retired but most of my life I worked for someone else heating and air repairs building repairs etc..
    And I've also sold on eBay for well since eBay started... Man I've always worked for myself new kitchen's bass roofs whatever someone wanted around their home... Monster craze big truck thing was I get a frame and a motor and a rear end and put it together and it would be it was that that was the fun part .. no being retired I do pick up parts and I like repairing other people's bikes if they asked or I'll even explain to it how and explain to them how to do it or we can do it together.. or explain to them and we would do it together how to so they can do it from now on like change your oil brakes automobile or motorcycle... I like building bikes now.. my problem is I just can't let them go LOL

    • @buttcrackcycles
      @buttcrackcycles  Před 5 měsíci +3

      I can definitely let them go, though some are harder than others. eBay used to be good but I've gotten screwed a few times over there as both a seller and buyer I probably won't do anymore business on that platform

    Are there enough old bikes out there to keep you supplied? Diversified income sources adds some financial security by not being dependent on one source.

    • @buttcrackcycles

      There's a pretty steady stream of Evo bikes here, especially Evo Sportsters. Ironheads are in second place for availability, though often need more work. Shovels bring up the rear and I can't even think about flipping a panhead!

    Confucius said. Never turn a hobby into a job.
    It takes all the fun out of it. Eventually, you'll be doing it because you have to. Not because you want to.

    • @buttcrackcycles
      @buttcrackcycles  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Yup, I think I'm at a good balance with it. It's self sustaining as a hobby, in that it takes nothing out of my household budget, and I make a little extra here or there. And most importantly, still have fun.
