Fantastic video and very informative. I'll be doing the same to my Fishpro Trophy. Cheers!
Hey mate, glad you got some value. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
I like that idea
Thanks for the feedback and taking the time to comment.
Oh wow, this is awesome!!!
Thanks for watching, and taking the time to comment, appreciated ;-)
@@ATDITO My pleasure! Keep the great content coming!
Great video, good editing and thank you for not including annoying background music👍 I’m currently utilising a Uniden MHS155UV portable VHF/UHF, which sits securely in one of the fwd cup holders, less range but a quick and simple out of the box solution (for around $200 at the time on special from BCF) and perfect for my needs (protected waterways) it floats and has rechargeable as well as disposable power options, also like the nav lights too.😎
Hey, thanks for taking the time to comment. I still carry my Uniden MHS245 handheld in my PFD just in case. Using the ski mounted unit as a primary, which is probably overkill. Either way, as long as you have something and use it, IMHO. Tight lines!
👍 good stuff
Thanks 👍
Awesome video, it inspired me to modify my own 22 FPT with the icom m400bb radio.
I didn't catch the wiring of the radio to the accessory harness so it only operates when switched on, please help🎣
hey, thanks for the feedback and taking the time to comment. I'm not sure I understand what you're after. Do you need help on how to wire to the accessory harness? My radio only works when the ski is powered on too. So if the garmin is on, the radio is on, garmin off, radio off. That is intentional so that the radio doesn't run the power completely down on the battery.
Yes, I could use help with how to wire harness. Thanks in advance.🎣
I've got a trip coming up, so don't want to pull anything apart just at the moment. When I get back I'll take a few pics/video with a little more detail....stay tuned
I believe I got it. it just took a little more patience. Will send pictures.
Thanks again. I'm looking forward to seeing more videos🎣
Great video, thanks. I think I will install the same on my Fish pro. The only concern I’ve got, is tapping into the correct cable for the accessory power. Is that easy enough to find? I haven’t opened up that area yet.
Hey, thanks for the comments. No, finding the right wire is dead easy. I got the Seadoo accessory harness, then just spliced off that. That way you're not risking damaging something important, and to reverse, simply unplug. One thing tho, in hindsight, I would have run the lights off full-time power, and the radio off accessory. Of course, you still need the lights when stationary in given situations, I didn't take that into account. Also, be careful where you put the antenna, particularly if you are considering putting the explorer shield on, as the placement may get in the way. Thanks again and tight lines ;-)
@@ATDITO thanks. I’ve got the shield on already so will place antenna accordingly. Does it matter what antenna you use? What model did you choose?
@@garyrichardson586 Pacific Aerial from Smart Marine, main thing for me was to get one that folds, other than that I don’t know if it makes a difference.
@@ATDITO 👍
1 or 2 batteries?
One battery, but up graded to a bigger one using GC Fishing’s kit. Tested this weekend, lasts a while, but radio does drain battery if using the radio a lot
