This is what I haven't told Seth Meyers, do all ventriloquists have to possess a split personality? My kind of ventriloquism isn't even Elvis Presley's music. My kind of ventriloquism consists of, spoken lines and wisecracks; mixed with audio story narration and eerie Halloween sounds. It's so worth it.
Surprisingly good. US performers are notoriously unable to imitate other accents. I cringe when I hear a US actor pretending to be Australian and they are just as bad at the wide range of British accents, even harder because they're so different from region to region. Seth got the accent pretty well.
Any limousine liberal can imitate any other limousine liberal.
Really very good, especially the Lennon. I do think the 'recency effect' of hearing Paul imitating a 'posh' sounding non-Liverpudlian in the Get Back film took over a bit, because his 'Paul' sounded like that [and was near perfect, too].

Considering the founding fathers recognized the need for a free nation independent from tyranny I'd say they had a decent idea but you're right there really are a lot of things they wouldn't recognize.

I'm sure she knew that was a possibility, but let's not give her too much credit. She was either going to stay on Twitter and keep spreading disinfo as red-meat to her base, or she was going to get kicked-off and play the martyr, which her base would also eat up. Not hard to succeed in a win-win situation.
One of the convenient things about being a fascist is that your supporters are, by definition, irrational. They choose to start from their preferred conclusions and work backwards. As such, if they've already decided they like you, it's pretty hard to find something that will make them stop. You'd have to contradict one of their more dearly-held bigotries, like by saying the vax works or that gay people shouldn't be hacked to death on the street with machetes.
@@michaelccozens In music industry parlance that's known as the U2 effect - once an entity becomes that popular it pretty much doesn't matter what they do the followers will lap it up. In a strange irony, U2 themselves proved it wasn't necessarily how things always went. They didn't fail, but the music industry moved on, U2 ceased to be relevant and they disappeared from the airwaves. Hopefully American politics will move on and MTG will also get left behind and disappear.
For the record, I quite like U2, though their last few records seem al little less inspired. It's almost like becoming obscenely rich and having nothing left to prove takes the edge off all that angst. Who knew. 🙂

I just realized that every war or combat action in my life has seen politicians visit the front line soldiers. The founding fathers would be horrified as what passes for "arms" today, too, but the right wingers don't seem very concerned about that.
I've seen that argued, but it's a little unclear in practice to me. The intent of the 2nd amendment is up for debate: was it just because the Magna Carta had a similar provision (for self defense), or was it due to the fact they had just overthrown a bad government, largely due to civilian access to military weapons with little need for training? To me, the surrounding amendments all seem pretty specifically targeted at the antirevolutionary tactics of the British, so the latter seems more plausible, but really we just don't know.
Were they aware of coming improvements in firing rates and what effect that would have? It's possible - a few early breach-loading Fergeson rifles were used by the British, and there had been steady improvements to the accuracy and deadliness over the last couple hundred years, but I can see the assumption that "one crazy guy with a gun can't do that much damage". Or at least that they could do as much damage with an axe or whatever. Perhaps they simply felt the cost was worth whatever benefit they were seeking - the perceived cost of a life seemed to be far lower then than now.
